I absolutely love coming to Trina’s place. I threw my back out pretty badly about 6 weeks ago, and I’ve been to Trina’s twice since– she had me back in action in no time by focusing on the most tense parts of my back and neck. I also really like the atmosphere of the massage room– she plays very relaxing music and incorporates aromatherapy. It’s also a very affordable massage option compared to some of the overpriced locations in Center City. You can’t go wrong with Trina! She’s on the 3^rd floor of Philly Cuts, the owner of which is a community hero who does a lot to serve the youth of West Philadelphia.

What are awesome place to go and relax on a Sunday. I went and visited Tranquil and serene on Sunday and I had an awesome experience. She was ready to service me on time with a smile. The room was set up so beautiful, clean and inviting. I got a full body massage and a foot detox and I’m telling you my body & feet feels wonderful and my kinks in my body is out. I truly didn’t want her to stop. Her hands are magic. Ijust feel fantastic thank you Trina. See you next month.

It was definitely the most relaxing hour and half of my life… I feel in and out of sleep a few times even though I was ironically caffeined out. She was so gentle with my facial and firm on my back and shoulders. It was the perfect combo. She is very very talented. Definitely coming back again soon (:

I’ve been going to Trina for over a year now. The prices are great and the massages are great too. Every month I get a full body massage and a foot scrub. The atmosphere is soothing and comfortable. She always has relaxing music playing to help unwind. The neighbors downstairs can get loud but she has the wireless headphones to keep you in a relaxed mood. I’m glad I found Tranquil and Serene Moments. Trina takes good care of me and I’m sure she’ll take care of you too.

I had a horrendous experience with this business. I bought an amazon local deal for a 60 minute swedish massage which is how I heard about it in the first place. This place is also in a slightly sketchy area and the entrance is on a poorly lit side street. I wouldn’t recommend coming here alone when its dark.
Scheduling: It is almost impossible to get ahold of anyone to actually schedule an appointment. Every time I called, it rang and went to voicemail. I left a message and she called me back eventually to schedule it.
When I showed up at the 52^nd street location for my appointment on a saturday afternoon, there was no one at the business. I knocked, rang the doorbell, and waited for 5 mins. When I checked my phone, I had received a text message from the business saying «I wanted to make sure rr receive my text e Ir» and «Message they are working on the heating system. So I have to reschedule you.» I called her since I assumed this was Trina and she said that I could come back the next day, Easter Sunday, at 10AM. I drove back out to the 52^nd street location the next morning and it was the same experience. No answer when I rang the doorbell or knocked on the door. No response when I called her and I left a voicemail saying that I was outside waiting for her. It was an overall frustrating experience and in the end, I had to make 2 trips to her business and ended up not receiving a massage. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Pay $ 10 more and go to a place where you will feel safe and actually get a massage

If I can give no star I will give no star. dont ever ever buy again from groupon deal. Today I just come there. i have appointment at 7pm on oct 25. I have appointment 2 people. We was there at 6:40 waiting someone take care us. but till 7:15 no one show up for take care us. And we try call 3 phone number. they just go throw voice mail. I never never get this deal again from this place and from groupon.

Went to the 52^nd street location, as long as you keep your eyes peeled it’s not too difficult to find. Bought an hour massage through groupon and it was an awesome deal! Trina was my masseuse and she was incredible. Highly recommend

Sometimes, a deal is too good to pass up. This was one of those times. And, because it was so good, I did not even check reviews, something I almost always. But, I don’t think I would have found much on this spot.
But the deal… Groupon offered $ 10 off any massage deal. Alright. This spot only wanted $ 30. Cool. So, $ 20 for a full hour massage. Hard to pass up. The kicker, it’s two blocks from where I live. Slam dunk and done.
The massage was okay. She was very nice. Getting an appointment was a little complicated, but not so terrible. The pressure was lighter than what I like. She also used hot stones, but they were lukewarm and she did not seem to know what she was doing with them.
But hey, it was definitely worth $ 20, so it’s hard to complain.

I bought a groupon for a Swedish massage at the University City location. I left a message for Trina and received a prompt phonecall back, and we were able to schedule something the next week. I got a reminder text three days before the appointment, which was appreciated.
Trina was so sweet, personable and friendly. She did an excellent job with the massage; immediately figured out if I was uncomfortable with a certain pressure or movement and asked how she could change it. I got a great scalp massage and the knot in my shoulder straightened out. I really liked how there was no push to sell me a package or membership at the end (which happens too often at spas), Trina just gave me her business card, told me about the specials, and invited me back.
The location isn’t fancy-it’s homespun and very clean and inviting, with plenty of candles and soothing music. I didn’t go home feeling any less pampered than I would have somewhere upscale– in fact, I got a better massage than I have at those places. I’ll definitely be back.

Full disclosure: I only got a professional massage a couple of times before this, and each experience was totally different but nothing great. So I found a Groupon deal for a 60 min Swedish massage at this place and decided to check it out. Since this is the very first review for Tranquil and Serene moments at Univ city location, I will provide as much detail as possible.
There is only one person named Trina managing this center. Booking an appointment by phone was tricky because it kept going to voicemail on various occasions, try in the afternoons/​later times. it is easier to get hold of Trina then.
Massage center is comprised of a single room on the third floor of a shop, where there are hair salons on the first/​second floors and nails/​mani-​pedi on the third floor. I got there about 10 mins before my appointment, had to wait until 5 – 10 mins after my appointment time because the appointment with a previous client was running a bit late. I didn’t mind it though because I got there after work for the last appointment of the day, so no rush.
Once I entered the room, I noticed on one side there is an area for massage, related accessories, and an office space on the other side plus a restroom. The place was dim lit, had a warm feel to it with a couple of candles and soothing music. There was a form that I had to fill out with basic stuff regarding general health etc. Then I was asked to change into a loose robe, the restroom was clean. Trina is really friendly, and I am talkative and wanted to get some familiarity, so we chatted a fair bit in the beginning but it was really quiet in the later half. She used an unscented/​mild massage lotion, which was moisturizing but not oily. I liked it. During the massage, she adjusted the pressure according to my request. I felt like she was hitting all the problem areas, especially my back! I felt relaxed at the end.
Overall, my experience here was satisfying and I might come here regularly. If you want a simple, no frills massage parlor, check this place out! Oh, don’t forget to carry some cash for the tip :)

I went to the 52^nd street location. The building wasn’t clearly labelled so I got lost, but eventually figured it out. The spa is located on the top floor of a house converted to business. The office portion had chairs, a television, beverages, and Mary Kay products. It’s not fancy, but an efficient space. After filling out a questionnaire/​release form, I was shown to the massage room upstairs. The room was quite serene with candles and relaxing music. I got the spa package which included a full body 60 minute massage, reflexology, and facial/​scalp massage. I enjoyed every minute of it. My Masseuse was the owner of the spa. she was really friendly and warm and took her time massaging away all of my stress.
This is a black owned business. There are very few black masseuses and we should support their businesses.
If you want a thorough and relaxing massage within the West Philly neighborhood for a decent price ($ 1/​minute), this is your spot.
