My wife and i have been taking guitar classes from Rob for couple months now. I’ve always wanted to play a musical instrument but thought it was too late in my life to pick up one. So one day my wife looked up guitar lessons in Philadelphia and swiftlesson showed up with amazing reviews.
I took a free private lesson from Rob and rest is history. Taking guitar lessons as a couple can be very rewarding. Rob is very patient, knowledgeable and passionate about guitar. He took his time with my wife and made sure we were on the same page before we moved on. Either you are a true beginner like us or a professional, you will learn so much from Rob.

It’s never too late to learn something new! I am 43 year old beginner with the ukelele & I have no musical background. I bought a ukelele that came with teach yourself instructions & after an hour of trying to teach myself, I knew it wasn’t going to happen. I luckily found Rob on Unilocal and here I am just a few lessons in with high hopes!
Rob is very organized & knowledgeable & most importantly patient! I was very nervous about taking lessons but Rob immediately put me at ease. He is very encouraging & he is great at what he does. I highly recommend him for all ages & all skill levels!

I can’t say enough about Rob Swift and his partner Tom. Last year, I decided to buy myself a guitar for my birthday and teach myself how to play. That didn’t go well or last long, so this year my brother, in Chicago, bought me guitar lessons with Swiftlessons. My brother had been watching Rob’s YouTube videos and since he liked the instructor, who happened to live in Philadelphia, it worked out well.
Rob and Tom are so patient and genuine. They really love music and want to share their knowledge with everyone. Rob is a great instructor with a lot of patience and true passion for music. He cares about making sure you are learning and is excited for your improvement. Thanks Rob for helping me learn how to play guitar and for my deeper love of music!

I am officially obsessed with playing guitar and learning more and more thanks to Swiftlessons! I am the girl who decided 10 years ago, on a whim, that I wanted to learn how to play guitar. I ran out and bought a guitar with an instructional video and proceeded to «practice» for about a week until I gave up.
Fast forward to the present. I have had 3 group classes so far with Rob and Tom and I can already play 3 songs! Now, I’m not amazing at it (yet!), but the fact that I can piece together 3 songs in 3 weeks is amazing! Rob gives up all his secrets, is so patient, and genuinely excited when we do well in class. I am having such a great time and am already sad to know that I only have 3 more classes left within this series.
One of the coolest things is that Rob gives you his phone number and encourages you to text/​call whenever. I have done that on many occasions and he is soooo helpful! He also has a YouTube site where he posts helpful videos for you to use in between class.
If you have ever wanted to learn guitar, but havent had the time/​patience – come to Swiftlessons. Rob (and Tom) have enough patience to compensate. Plus, your first individual lesson is free and trust me – you will feel like a rockstar after just that session!

Rob Swift and his partner Tom are fantastic. I have never touched a musical instrument in my life. After several Swiftlessons, Rob and Tom have taught me to play music, read music, and appreciate music. Rob and Tom are very knowledgeable, patient with their students, and just cool guys that enjoy playing music and teaching music. Rob at Swiftlessons is truly amazing! I’m only on my 2^nd lesson and I’m already learning chords to popular songs. I have been looking for a teacher like this for years. I’m 36 and I’ve been wanting to play guitar for over a decade, and I kinda gave up, because every teacher I had made it seem complicated and impossible to play a full song. After my 1^st lesson with Rob (which was FREE), I learned that playing guitar doesn’t have to be complicated and hard to learn. He is everything you’d want in a guitar teacher — he’s super encouraging, motivating and really makes the lesson fun! He has a way of explaining everything clearly and breaks the music down into simple, easy to understand techniques. The lessons are affordable, the schedule is flexible, and I’m already very excited about the progress I’m making!

Rob is a great guitar teacher. He is positive, supportive, patient and very knowledgeable. I have been taking lessons with him for about 9 months and moving along exactly at the right pace for me. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to learn to play the guitar!

I’ve always wanted to learn how to play the guitar, and finally decided to pursue lessons a few months ago. After not having much luck with other teachers, I was lucky to find Rob at Swiftlessons and I am really getting the kind of instruction I’ve been looking for. Rob’s lessons are extremely well-​prepared and are thoughtful of my goals and learning style. I’m moving at a pace that is comfortable for me, yet challenges me to make improvements with each lesson. As an instructor, Rob is super patient and seems to genuinely care that I am both having fun and also meeting my goals as a student. Also, Rob is just a really fun person! My friend and I went to check out one of his band Kickin Bear’s shows, and it was just crazy fun! I’d give him 10 stars if I could! :D
