Ceviche, octopus and cauliflower were excellent. Branding very much over cooked and dry.

The ambiance is frankly strange. I’ve eaten better food. I’ve had friendlier staff. Also, they advertise as a BYOB and fail to mention their corking fee, which is hefty.

3 stars for food. Had the octopus starter, crab cake entrée, sea urchin pasta, and tirimisu. The star dishes were the crab cake and tirimisu. But all the food was a bit under seasoned for our taste. I wish there was enough sea urchin in my pasta dish. I only tasted it in the first couple of bites. The octopus needed some salt and pepper to bring out it’s natural flavor. Presentation of the dishes were all nice. Portions were on the small side so I would never think to come here hungry or on a budget. Service was adequate bit not excellent. 5 stars for setting and atmosphere. Beautiful, Mediterranean themed venue. I would frequent it more often for an appetizer and cocktail if the prices were 75% less.

My wife Diane and I took a friend there for lunch yesterday. It was not an ordinary friend, it was a childhood friend I had not seen in over forty years, who was visiting from Belgium. We had tuna tartar, crab tacos, raw scallops, calamari and other stuff that we shared. The weather was perfect and we were sitting upstairs on that terrace they have, with a nice breeze and a view of a park. We selected a white wine from Italy, after being offered a taste by a diligent and attentive waiter. Perfect! it was not just about getting a good lunch, it was about creating vivid memories for a friend. Thank you for delivering!

Sad to say my experience this time was not stellar. The seafood risotto was a much smaller portion, the waitress vanished after taking my order, no refill on my water or coffee, and definitely not enough risotto in the dish… the thrill is gone. The food was just O.K. I expect consistency and didn’t get it. Been waiting months to visit this place again and was really disappointed.

I came here with my girlfriends for a night out. The calamari was absolutely delicious. It was topped with generous dollops of goat cheese and tossed with fresh arugula and non-fried(THANKYOU!) cherry peppers. I never understood why place like frying the peppers. I feel that it fries the flavors out of it. We also got the mussels, which were pretty good as well. It came generous chunks of chorizo. The mussels were just overcooked so they were dried and shriveled up. The service was great: clean, swift, and attentive. When we finished out mussels, the server/bartender asked if we would like to have bread for the broth and brought us a basket of warm freshly baked bread(which were amazing. Bathroom was super clean, which is always a plus. Great place! I’m definitely coming back(especially for the grilled octopus!)

*Happy Hour review only* I’ve been wanting to come to their happy hour for quite some time since they have some $ 4 beers, $ 5 wines and $ 6 cocktails with both $ 4 and $ 6 food offerings. –1 star because we arrived at 5:15pm and the bartender said they already sold out of the Peruvian scallops on happy hour that starts at 5. I’m glad to hear it’s fresh, but selling out after 15 minutes, such a bummer! Overall, I was pretty happy with the selection. The $ 6 mussels were tasty, fresh and a decent portion given the price! The ciabatta bread and olives was a bit lacking, it was 4 small pieces of bread with 6 olives and a little bit of olive oil spread. I enjoyed the strascinati for $ 4, the pasta seemed homemade and it was in a simple tomato basil sauce. The hummus and pita were OK for the price Drink wise the beers are alright, I’d opt for wine or cocktails honestly. The lemon drop was a creamy base, not the traditional lemon drop you’d think of, but I still liked it. Between 2 people we spend about $ 50 total including food and drinks, so I think that’s pretty solid. But I want scallops next time!

I had the grilled octopus and the pan seared Bronzino. Both were beyond expectation. I fell in love with the creativity of their dishes. The flavors worked wonderfully together.

My boyfriend and I went this year for Valentine’s Day. It was one of the better meals we have had. The ambiance is romantic and upscale, which we loved for the occasion. Waiter was excellent, wine was great, and the food was delicious. We had calamari to split, I ordered the scallops(sooooooo good), and my boyfriend had the lobster mac & cheese. It was a bit pricey, but we really think the price was on par with the quality of food. We have been to Aldo’s in Cherry Hill as well, so this was a nice variation of the same owner but different location and food.

Had a great dinner with friends last night at this excellent restaurant. It’s hard for me to select a favorite restaurant in Philadelphia because there is so many good ones. But I have to say that for consistency in good dining at a reasonable price Positano Coast is a top favorite of mine. The four of us ordered five appetizers all of which were excellently done. My friends hadn’t been at this restaurant for a while and were pleasantly surprised. Two entrées plus additional small plates filled out the eating plan for the evening. The wine was good, service was outstanding and unobtrusive. The weather was good enough to sit out on their deck and we were able to enjoy a lovely evening without being rushed. The restaurant has a strong menu. A few years ago I visited Positano Italy for a week. The food last night together with the ambiance made me feel like going back soon.

My best friend and I came here on a Thursday for a late lunch. We were seated in the enclosed patio which was breezy and relaxing on a spring day. We ordered the antipasto — which was delicious. The seasoned mushrooms didn’t last a minute! I ordered the seafood risotto, and she ordered the salmon salad. We both loved our entrees. I was hesitant at first because risotto is so tricky, but it was absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked and filled with delicious clams and calamari. I’m looking forward to trying the unlimited mimosas and brunch(once this baby pops out)!

Found Positano Coast as one of several old city restaurants close to a colleagues hotel. Reviews were very positive, and so was our experience! My colleague had a delicious octopus appetizer and rack of lamb entrée. The appetizer was ‘gone’ before I could ask how it was — so it was good. The lamb was prepared medium rare, and served as sliced lollipops — suitable for finger eating — or with use of a knife/fork. They too disappeared. I had a special salad caprese with heirloom tomatoes and a soft gooey mozzerella, and the Scottish salmon. Tomatoes are out of season and were not as ripe as I would have expected — given they were probably shipped in, but the dish was delicious. The salmon was firm and muscular(long swim from Scotland) — and delicious. As a rule, I tend to let the chef decide how to cook salmon, but I prefer it a little translucent(medium). The server did not ask how I’d like it prepared, and it was a little too firm for my taste — but was very good. Note to self — ask how it is prepared next time and then specify temperature. Desserts — sorbets and tiramisu — both very good. Overall a nice dining experience. Food was well prepared. Service was polite and attentive. Restaurant can be a bit noisy if you’re trying to have a conversation — but it was manageable. From a value perspective — the price/portion size was definitely in the favor of the owner, but is reasonable for the area. There were lots of locals, as well as visitors to the restaurant. Valet Parking available; courteous, prompt service; expensive — but we’re in a major city. Happily recommend the restaurant. Will be back — but after I try some of its neighbors!

Positano is a small village on the Amalfi Coast south of Naples, Italy, and the leit motif tries to capture that feel. Nice large window vista dining with a strange roomy layout. The staff seemed friendly, the food was good, and the service was OK, but I expected more with the valet parking lead up coupled with the décor. Food temperatures varied on the same plate. Overpriced libations, moderately priced brew, including the Italian beer Peroni. The current Unilocal rating of 3 ½ is spot on for this place.

My boyfriend and I came here for a birthday dinner and we were not dissapointed. The meal was a tad pricey but we had planned on having a special night out. For a restaurant in this area the food was moderately priced(entrees averaging about $ 21) Everything we had for dinner was delicious and perfectly prepared. Freshly baked bread and olive oil to start was yummy. We started with the mussles w/chorizo as an appetizer. Super. We each ordered an entrée, a NY strip steak and grouper wrapped in zucchini. Both were excellent. The steak melted on your mouth and the fish was moist and flaked off when you placed your fork on it. I would also like to mention THESERVICEWASEXCELLENT! The waiter and runner were very attentive. We never waited for anything and they checked on us periodically to see if we needed anything. Plus they refold your napkin every time you leave the table! A great time was had by all! I would definitely return.

Ordered four small plates: sea food risotto+eggplants; squid ink pasta+sautéed mushroom The bread before the meals plus the olive oil is really good. The dishes are just so so. They are overall a little bit too salty. But the decoration and the atmosphere is very European style. Love the wall decoration of linen clothes. Real fabric!

This was a wonderful dining experience. From the venue, to the service and of course the food — everything was perfect. The setup of this place is great, especially for the spring/summer. Seating is located throughout the venue, with different styles, so you can enjoy open air vibes, a closed dining hall, or an area close to the bar. It’s beautifully decorated and provides a very serene atmosphere. I highly recommend going here on a nice day and sitting close to the open air. Bf and I shared all of our plates and we ordered the following: Antipasto plate, seafood risotto, and zucchini crab cakes. It was the perfect amount of food for both of us and we couldn’t even fit room for dessert. The presentation of the food was also nice. For the antipasto plate, I was grateful that the server brought it out and immediately explained what each item was. A lot of places plop down food and leave you to figure it out on your own, but I appreciated their attentiveness to our curiosity over the food. I’ve been here before for an event, so I had a different experience, but equally as great. I would definitely dine here again!
