I have only popped in here a few times(unfortunately whenever I do not have much time!), but I was very impressed with the selection. BUT – I am not writing so much about my experience in the store as my boyfriend’s. He happened to be with me when I came in for a few minutes and went in some days later to shop for my Christmas gift. The ladies in there knew exactly what questions to ask him(hair, skin color, style, etc) and he told me later that he did not feel as confused and out of his element as much as he normally does in those situations. AND, I scored some badass kelly green Bakelite earrings from the exchange too! So ladies, send your men to Philadelphia Vintage, and I’m sure you’ll fall in love with whatever they bring back!

I bought a fabulous pair of Michael Kors kitten heel pumps here for $ 40. Jen is amazing. She’ll give you tons of advice on caring for shoes. She gave me the name of the shoe repair spot I always go to now! The selection here is beautiful and reasonably priced. If you are looking for something special, let her know, and she’ll call you if anything comes in!

An adorable bougie and relatively inexpensive vintage store. Set in a brownstone, clothing racks are dispersed among the remnants of an old house still partially furnished. Go on a Tuesday and everything is 20% off. Look extra hard on the rack outside, and if you are lucky there may be one great find. Relatively selective, there is an array of cute cheap shirts in great condition, and a few more expensive but beautiful Chanel dresses and Hermes scarves. This is the best vintage clothing store I’ve been to in Philly. It is not overwhelming like many thrift shops, and you are bound to walk away with at least one thing you love.

The owner is great! She was happy to chat with me and tell me about the store. I love the little kitchenette in the back it’s sooo cute. You have to pop in every now and again she sometimes has amazing vintage chanel and dior. I love the bargain rack on the sidewalk as well!

I love vintage fashion. It’s the hand finishing of the seams and the workmanship that you simply cannot find in the mass merchandise that is made in China. That said, I love this shop on a quiet, tree lined residential block in the Rittenhouse neighborhood. There is always something new and the owner Jen knows her stock! I still regret not buying that Burberry overnight tote that was a steal…

This is the best little vintage shop in the area. They put care into what they display on the store and Jen is always a joy to chat with. They are remodeling the back of the store, so the space is smaller than usual, but when it opens up fully againI fully expect it will rock =)

not only will you –but only if you want — get a lesson on any vintage piece in there, from the sizing of the era to the garment construction, but owner and buyer extraordinaire will let you play with Jimi hendrix, the adorable mascot of jacinthe. back to the clothes, though, because they are fantastic, well-kept and luscious, simply put. suede gucci bags from the 1980s, an incredible selection of Stepford Wives-y 50’s cocktail dresses, and the most adorable home section this side of Anthropologie. The designer bags and dresses are fabulous and reasonably priced, the accessories abound, and the store atmosphere is delightful. I’d move in if I could. Just a note, the website for them is out of date, so is the number and address on the site, so definitely go to 1052 Locust… and say hi to the Jimi!
