Beautiful collection of yarn, knick knacks, and jewelry! Great spot! A helpful and friendly proprietor! Parking! If you need anything else… well, what else would you need?!

If you’re looking for art yarn/sari silk, this is the place to go. If you are looking to buy handmade stuff in person and not on Etsy, you should go here. If you’re looking for an LYS type place, I would probably recommend going elsewhere. The owner/artist is very sweet and nice, but this place seems to focus more on the garments for sale than selling yarn, and they have a limited selection as it’s mostly arty/handspun/sari silk sort of stuff. Don’t walk in here expecting a wall of Cascade 220.

I really like that Nangellini carries such unique yarns, some of which are produced here in Philadelphia by Made in America yarns and Hope chest studios and Ruby B love. As I try my best to support locally-produced goods, I really love to shop there. They also sell unique and quirky wearable yarn-art. Nangellini used to be on South street and is now across the street from the Piazza on Liberties Walk, only accessible by foot. You will NOT see it if you are hiding inside a car, you NEED to be on foot or bicycle. One of the things I love about Philly is that it is such a walkable city, no need for a car. So if you are coming from the suburbs, do yourself a favor and take a train or bus. They also offer knitting classes and one on one lessons, and it’s best to inquire with Nancy by phone. They have a knitting circle every sunday from 3 – 6 p.m. and sometimes there are so many people knitting inside there that they spill outside with folding chairs, like a veritable yarn and needles party. This is actually more of a four star review because there are no signs in front of the store indicating that they sell yarn and needles and teach how to knit.
