If you are looking for authentic greek groceries, this is the place to go. People have complained about the service or the lack of friendliness of the man who waits on you(I am supposing he is the owner) I agree he isn’t the friendliest of proprietors but he has the stuff I need so this is not essential to me. As for charging something other than the price on the item, I haven’t experienced that but if I did, I would just point it out and I can’t imagine he would argue. If you want frozen spanakopita, loukoumi plus fresh olives and feta, this is the only place I know in the area.

I found this place after a Chowhounder suggested it might sell the Greek version of Nutella, called Merenda. It does, and just about every other Greek item you’d want! To get to it, though, ignore the ugly strip mall location in Northeast Philly, and the confusing array of chips and gum at the front of the store. The real heart of it all is in the back, where literal sheaves of oregano leaves are for sale, alongside jars of capers bigger than a subcompact. And that merenda!( )
