Emmett is more of a barber/hair cuttery/flowby kind of guy, but my girlfriend finally broke down my defenses with an offer to sponsor this extreme make over, so my year and a half haircut drought is now at an end. I had my fro drastically reduced by the owner, a pleasant man who dealt with my ever changing mind with much patience: «Just take off an inch. No, better make it two. Or, maybe just take it to the bottom of my ears. Actually, on second thought, better go to the top of the ear…»; nine inches later and I look like a fellow again(now people won’t think my lady and I are lesbians), and with a grown up hair cut to boot. Speaking of my lady, this is where she gets her locks died, chopped, and whatever else you chickadees do to keep our attention, and it always looks great

I have been to Lui & Lei several times. I love it there. Everyone is so nice and holds relevant conversations. I have seen many children in there, and they have all been treated wonderfully by the staff. I did take away one star because one time I had to run from my house to the salon to be on time for my appointment — my floors were being carpeted and i had to wait for the installers to get there. I made it on time, was greeted, and informed that my stylist Kristy had the flu. The person who gave me this news was not the receptionist, but the owner who also took my reservation the day before. I asked why I had not been called and he said he didn’t have my number. I said well that’s funny because you have my mailing address. He said he was sorry and I left. Three days later I received a call from Kristy apologizing and offering me 20% off my next visit. I really appreciated this, but would have preferred the owner to have called me himself and apologize — rather than pass the buck on. Did I let that experience stop me from returning? Absolutely not. Should you? Absolutely not. You will love your cut and the attention given to you while there. I love this place.
