I’m writing this on behalf of my husband, who insisted I post. We ordered a haggis for our Burns Supper(Google it, if you don’t know what it is.) We were both skeptical. They don’t appear to be Scottish, and we are certain they will follow the US restrictions on ingredients(again, an interesting bit of info, look it up) so how could it taste authentic? But we had no choice, our regular vendor from out of state wasn’t shipping them this year and I was NOT going to make this from scratch. To our surprise, not only was it delicious, it tasted just as haggis should. Everyone, from the 5 year old boys to our philistine friends and neighbors loved it. My Scottish husband and another friend from Ayr, the home of Mr. Burns, both agreed it was one of the best Haggis’ they had ever had. Thank you, La Divisa, for your talent and skill. Lang may yer lum reek.

This spot is the number one place to get top quality meats. When I say top quality I really mean the best meats I’ve ever gotten from a butcher shop. If you find that beef can be boring and outplayed this spot is a must! Lamb, pork, veal, and goat oh my! Knowledgeable butchers who are accommodating and know their way around several different species of animal. They will always help you find the best ways to prepare your different cuts of the best locally sourced animals around. Let me tell you, charcuterie/butchered meats like these don’t just fall out of a box. I get meat there at least once if not twice or more a week and they always seem to amaze with their ever expanding variety of charcuterie and other raw items that are just waiting to be cooked(sausages, pates, carnitas, and my all time favorite lambchetta.)

Pâté’s and porc-loving products which i discovered at the Rittenhouse Square Farmers market on Saturday AMs — but their main place is in RTM. Pricey — but delicious. If you don;t eat pork — try the lamb pâté. DIVINE! Oh — and they sell pre-cooked/pre-seasoned carnitas. Neat-o!
