Today(March 11, 2016) I noticed a sign saying they have moved. This location is shut down.

Service was alright. Tables fairly dirty. Food was alright but kind of expected more from a place that specializes in crepes.

I first came here 10 years ago, while on a field trip with my French 3 class. We had gone to the Rodin museum and went shopping in the French quarter of Rittenhouse, and then stopped for lunch. After that first visit, I was hooked. I have always loved the ambiance of the café, and I love how no matter how bad your day is, sitting in there will warm you to the soul. The food is amazing and prepared perfectly, whether you’re having a savory or a sweet crêpe. I highly recommend La Royale and La Duchesse from the savory crepes. they are filling and so flavorful. Keep in mind, this isn’t France, nor is it New Orleans with its strong French ties. This is Philadelphia, so if you’re going with the mind that this is some über French bourgeoisies place, you’re gonna be disappointed. Go in and expect kind service, good food, and a fun time.

So the prices are unjustifiably high, no getting around it. Save yourself the pain of ordering a quiche because at that price I expect a sizable piece not a sliver. The variety of crepes(especially the savory ones) is amazing and the quality is good but woof my poor wallet. If you are craving authentic and tasty crepes this is the place to go but know you are going to be paying a hefty price.

I’m going to echo everyone about the prices, here. I had 2 lattes, an orange juice, and the Bön Appetit and it was $ 38.86 w/tip. Oof. If I’m going to drop $ 40 on breakfast, I want it to knock my socks off. This did not. The crêpe was good and I loved the combination, but the filling was so skimpy. I swear there wasn’t any brie in there. The lattes were delicious, but tiny. The orange juice was fresh squeezed, but it almost tasted a little like dish soap? Didn’t love that. For the prices they’re charging, the restaurant should be in tip-top shape, but the floor tiles were all cracked and messed up, it was dark at the back of the restaurant, and the bathrooms were so… awful, honestly. The servers were very kind, but asking them for separate checks was like asking for them to build the Great Wall over again. I guess everything boils down to the price. After living in Philly for years, I’ve resigned myself to ridiculously expensive meals, but while I’ll pay the price, I expect the meal, the ambiance, and the service to match. This just didn’t deliver.

Really good food, great service, but very expensive. This might be a great place to go for dessert. We were in at the middle of lunch hour and were the only table in the place — very odd because the food and service were both very good. Maybe price is their issue.

Yummie crepes! We had ordered 3 and everyone was delighted. The gluten free one was exceptional even though I had to ask them to omit some key ingredients in a crêpe like cheese due to food allergies. Totally delicious and kind staff members. If we weren’t leaving early the next morning we would have went again for breakfast!! Definitely recommend! :)

I adore this place. I have been twice, and as a gluten-free person, it is not easy to find gluten-free crepes and definitely not good ones. My friend who has lived in Paris tried my crêpe and could not tell the difference! The ambience is wonderful. It has dried flowers and antique soda bottles filled with mint/cucumber infused water on every table. The service was wonderful, both times I have been. I have had both savory and sweet crepes and can’t tell you which one was better. My server told me they are instituting a new $ 25 Sunday all-you-can-eat crêpe brunch and I would love to check that out, you even get a coffee drink! I can’t imagine eating more than one, but I guess if you were hungry it would be a good idea. It almost does not feel like Philadelphia inside, a definite European air to it. It is also not crowded both times I have been, and I can’t imagine why, its delightful.

Great place. BYOB. Gluten free crepes are available. Great service. Start with a savory crêpe as a main meal and share a sweet one for dessert. Yes, chairs are a little weird, but very nice ambiance. I’ve taken my niece visiting from Alabama and various friends there and they all really enjoyed it.

Loved it !!! Food was fresh, portion size perfect and crepes DELISH!!! The tables were not the best but I think it all helped create the Parisian ambience ! Service was great the staff spoke french which also was impressive ! I will definitely go back and try other dishes on their menu

I came across this place with a friend while looking for a quick place to eat around Rittenhouse last weekend. After having a phenomenal crêpe in New Orleans a few weeks ago, I was super excited to have another one as I had been craving them! We were seated instantly. the place was pretty dead. The service was great and extremely attentive. The issue is the food and pricing. I wanted a savory crêpe and decided to go with the«La Norvegienne» which was smoked salmon, brie, zucchini, and basil. Sounded amazing and I was really looking forward to it. My friend ordered one of the chicken savory crepes. Our food came out quickly. The first thing I noticed was that my crêpe was about half the size of my friends! I instantly was disappointed. Not only was my crêpe pretty small, but it wasn’t even very good. The smoked salmon was not what I am used to and it was more of a fishy and unseasoned flavor. not the salty, smooth taste that I was expecting. The rest of the crêpe was just not that great and fell flat. I finished it in about 5 minutes because of the sheer lack of food! My friend wasn’t very impresed with hers either, though at least hers was more filling. For my crêpe, water, tax, and tip, I paid 18 bucks. and I was starving when I left. Do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere!

The food was great, and the staff was some of the best I have ever encountered. In fact, the staff was the best thing about this place. They were absolutely the friendliest and most accommodating I have ever seen! I don’t think the food was expensive – certainly not more than other cafes of this kind. I must confess I feel bad that this café is not more successful. I think they are overshadowed by bigger restaurants around them. Such a shame, really, because this café is such a little gem. I will definitely be going back! The only thing preventing me from giving this café 5 stars is their furniture. They need to get some better tables and chairs. I also wish they open earlier during the week.

One of my favorite places to go in the city. I don’t really understand why it’s getting such bad reviews. Every Time I’ve gone has been great, and I bring new people each time I go. The service fantastic, crepes are perfect. Even the pricing was decent in my opinion, and that’s coming from a college student. Although I don’t have a favorite, I always have ordered from the sweet crepes part of the menu.

Walked in randomly the other day during my lunch break from work. I was pleasantly surprised by the prices, service, taste(very light and airy batter was great) and the fact that the woman who runs the place speaks french :) there was literally no one there and im not sure why. but ill be back for sure

I struggle with how to rate the food. The savory crepes I ordered were overcooked(crispy, black). Based on these alone, I would rate them as poor. However, the sweet banana flambé crêpe I ordered was to die for. So, I settle on «good.» The service was exactly what I would expect from a French café, rude. But there should be more consistency in the food.

Brunch at a French Creperie place? Oh La la, sounds good right? Wrong. Pros: –The service here was AMAZING. The waiters were super polite, refilling our drinks, patiently waiting for the rest of our table guests to arrive, they took our requests respectfully, it was just perfect service. –The place is large enough to seat many people. Cons: –What the hell is going with the prices?! Yes, I asked for an omelet to be put inside the crêpe, I didn’t expect to be charged an extra $ 5 for that. Yes, I ordered from orange juice, but I did not expect to be charge $ 6 for that! –The crepes were average tasting but seriously, we could have gotten the same crepes for a better price.

I put La Creperie at a 2.5 stars… but«meh, I’ve experienced better» seemed closer to my experience than«A-OK». Service was very nice and polite – no complaints there. Food was tasty – my husband and I split two crepes:(1) ham, cheese, mushroom, spinach, and we added egg to it(because we both love eggs!), and(2) the salmon with crème fraîche. Both were delicious – the crêpe portion just sweet enough, the fillings savory… But I left this place with a pretty bad taste in my mouth – because of pricing. Some of it was less incriminating(yes, your menu *does* say a small cup of black coffee is $ 3.50…though I have no idea how you can justify that price; yes, you have fresh-squeezed orange juice… for $ 6, which could buy me a whole gallon of the stuff, or a crate of oranges). The more annoying charges: we added egg to our crêpe, and that’s apparently an extra $ 1.50(…which could get me a full dozen eggs). Oh, you want this crêpe, but you want to add a wee bit of ham to it? extra $ 4. Oh, you want the same ingredients as the omlette, except wrapped in a crêpe? extra $ 5. Look… I don’t mind that charging extra to add stuff… but don’t you think that adding 50% to the price of the original dish for just a «wrapper» is excessive? The crepes were good(not life-changing, but solid), but given that they’re already pricey, and given how many ridiculous surcharges there were tacked on to our final check, I doubt we’ll be back too soon. It hurts me, because I really do think the folks there were super sweet… it’s just hard to justify paying $$$ for solid, but not mind-blowing crepes.

This place ultimately disappointed me, though there are certainly worse places to eat on Sansom Street. It took nearly 40 minutes for us to receive our food, despite the fact that the place was empty on a Saturday night. This may have been due to the fact that, apparently, they have one employee. Poor, poor man. I have to say, my crêpe was pretty tasty. I got one with mushrooms and crème fraîche and it was lightly crisp around the edges, tender in the middle, perfectly salted. However, I simply can’t stomach the idea of paying $ 13 for a paper-thin pancake with some stuff smeared on it. Unless that thing is gold-encrusted or has the secret to life inscribed upon it, that is a ridiculous price for a dinner that didn’t come close to filling my stomach.

What a curious find! Nestled in Philadelphia is a creperie with French speaking servers … quite a treat in the City of Brotherly Love. Interestingly, the food has a Caribbean flair to it, which made trying new things all the more enjoyable. We both went with the server’s recommendation and tried the daily specials(something to do with seafood), and they were scrumptious. We both scarfed our food down and looked around wildly for more. The fresh water in the glass bottles was a wonderful touch. Service was top-notch, and we’ll happily be back on our next trip through the area.

LESCREPESSOMMESMAGNIFIQUES!
