Some friends and I had the munchies late last night and we decided that we wanted some pizza. Our favorite pizza place, Franco’s, was closed and we decided to see if we had menus for any places we hadn’t tried yet. Kristina’s was open until 11:00 P.M. on Sunday night… which made it perfect. We gazed at the menu and consulted the reviews that were already on . We decided to go for it. [Pizza is an art form… and I’m afraid the majority of Port Kensington can’t even color in the lines. As such the majority of places I have tried, with exception to a few favorites, have what will hence forth be referred to as Fishtown Crust. Fishtown Crust is distinctly doughy. It tastes chewy and sometimes you can even hear it squeaking between your teeth.] Kristina’s didn’t have Fishtown Crust… as such I will definitely order it again. There wasn’t as much cheese as I normally like, but my wife seemed to like it fine. The reason I am writing this review is because of how much I loved their stromboli. We went with a small cheese steak stromboli, hold the peppers. It was awesome. I was a little disappointed that it didn’t come with any tomato sauce for dipping, but to be honest it didn’t need it. The meat was super juicy and the cheese was gooey and delicious. The pizza was slightly above average… but they definitely have one heck of a good stromboli!!! All in all this place has cheap eats and super fast delivery… give them a shot… and definitely get a stromboli.

Cheap Greasy Pizza. It’s a fine place if you are looking for a cheap pie or a hoagie. They are fast with delivery. I live up the street and usually get something here at least once a week. They are open till about midnight on weekends, so they are good at filling my late night drunkin hunger pains.

Om nom nom. Om nom nom nom nom. I get slices here all the time. They are cheap, and crackery, and deliciousness. I rather enjoy nomming them. I wish I were there nomming them than here being hungry and feeling all weird and passive aggressive. Pizza saves!

Kristina’s Pizza is on a cool block, and it serves some pretty good pizza. The crust is a little thin, and it often cracks at the perimeter and drips a wonderful touch of oil. There’s not much sauce — the whole slice is pretty thin altogether — but what they give you is pretty good overall. The staff is a little brisk at Kristina’s, especially when after having eaten outised, I walk back in and hand them my paper plates to discard(there are no garbage cans on the block or in the customer area inside). But it’s nice going there. Across Mascher St. is a tire shop(always a lively spot), and across Berks is a very nice handball court and gym. The El is just a little down Berks, and there’s a stop right there. The neighborhood is lively. A building on Berks between Mascher and Hancock advertises curled hair on its old brick walls. I gave the neighborhood(The American St. industrial neighborhood) to Germantown, but Kristina’s holds its own in its own way. Big up to that, you know?
