Impact Imports provides a portal to the exotic and/or dramatic if you are seeking an unusual artifact to add to your abode. They have a phenomenal selection of carved wood and stone sculptures and functional furniture pieces. I do not know of anywhere else that features tiny skull beads made out of actual bone! My favorite things in here are the hand-carved cow skulls, but I have actually purchased a wonderful«lombok» mask in the past. Be sure to visit the second room, it is full of Balinese fabric lights and large Buddha heads! The owner & staff are tremendous.

I have been browsing at this store for some time now, trying decide on a unique piece of furniture to add to my place… This exquisite store is like a museum! Just walking around the rooms can keep you busy for hours. The family that owns this shop have brought to the streets of olde city Philadelphia a truly unique experience for locals and tourist to enjoy. I finally decided after a few months of contemplation and a few strolls over to the store to chat to the owner about options and ideas of what I would like; I chose a t. v console as my purchase. Drew, the owner was more than willing to accommodate my needs in regards to changing the measurements on the original product. They delivered my reclaimed boat wood console in a VERY timely manner. I highly recommend doing business with this company! Going to this gem in the city should be high on your list of places to see when in olde city, or just in Philadelphia in general! These one of a kind pieces are truly art from another country. From little homemade owl ornaments to gigantic tree trunk kitchen islands, there is something for everyone!

First, I will start off saying I love the furniture I bought at Impact Imports. This is not a review of the products, but a review of the customer service. I ordered two pieces of furniture at Impact Imports. I went in and talked to the owner who was super nice. I bought the furniture early, well before my move date because he told me it would be no problem to store it. My move in date was pushed back twice and it was still not a problem. Drew even exchanged my table for a smaller size and told me he owed me $ 200 dollars back. So, now here is the problem… when it was time for me to collect my money back, he decided to keep it as a storage fee. He never once before mentioned a fee for storage. After discussion, he changed it to an assembly fee… I bought the table assembled and it was $ 2000, I didn’t buy it from overstock at $ 200.00. Basically he was reaching to keep the money. I was quite surprised that a local business would practice poor customer service! We finally negotiated and he gave me $ 100 dollars back, but I feel he should have told me there would be a «storage fee» or «assembly fee» and it would be my choice if I wanted to pay it.

Located kitty-corner to the Arden Theater, the Philly outpost of Impact Imports is a find. With their main location out of Boise, ID they bring a special charm to this side of the county with reclaimed wood products mostly from Indonesia. You can find anything from simple wood boxes decorated with mirrors and an OM symbol on top for $ 25 to a petrified carved wood sink for several thousand. My friend purchased a metal lantern that reminded her of the ones she saw in Turkey. Just a block down from the Continental and Cuba Libre, this shop is definitely worth a browse.
