This place is now closed due to the residents that lived near by that complained of the parking. This place was great for as long as it lasted…

Lovely new market in Chestnut Hill/West Mt. Airy Philadelphia on Willow Grove Ave just a half a block west of Germantown Ave. I saw an ad for it in the local free paper and stopped in. I liked what I saw the first time but was thrilled tonight when I was on the hunt for fresh organic Fennel and they HADIT! I got two big bulbs. A little expensive but I was so happy. great deli counter, with both deli meats and cheese but lovely prepared foods. The aisles are packed with goodies to satisfy anyone’s taste. Not only is there junk food… chips and such… but gourmet crackers and capers and mustards and fine coffees. The organic meats are fresh and vacuum packed from Lancaster County farms and are very very tasty. I had two pork chops that I could have mistaken for lamb they were so tender. Excellent. I would say they will need to better with produce and the deli counter… though nice… seems to need some ‘beefing up’ but maybe because they are a little off the shopping beaten track folks don’t know about them. Hours are good for this town. Open til 8 every night. I hear the local blue-haired-gentry-stuck-in-the-50’s types are trying to run them out of business though so shop shop shop there for even the smallest item and protest the old-guard hatin’ that is so common in Nutty Hill. The folks that run the place saved a century old stone building from sitting idle and ‘burning down’ by a real estate speculator… just my opinion but it happens. Love place!
