I got a manicure and pedicure for a wedding. I was in a rush and there was no wait at Elaine’s. After the pedicure dried the polish was bubbly. She said I could come back for a polish change since I was in a rush. When I came back she gave me a hard time about not coming the next day(we discussed this prior) and only wanted to fix some of the toes with the same polish despite the fact that I decided to bring my own polish to avoid this polish bubbling issue. I didn’t appreciate the attitude or poor customer service so I left. First and last time I go there. There are a ton of nail salons in the city. There’s a reason there wasn’t a wait last week and today. It’s probably always empty because of its poor Managment. Also, she cut my finger when she was cutting my cuticles. Good thing I chose red polish!!!

I was desperate. Leaving for Vegas early in the AM and due to unforeseen circumstances was unable to keep my appointment at my regular nailery. I did not have time to make it to any other nailery I’m familiar with before closing so I decided hey, why not. Plus they had a mani-pedi special that seemed reasonable. I wish I had the opportunity to glance at some reviews before wasting my money at this establishment. Not only were my nails a complete rush job, but the acrylic appeared rough and uneven as if it was not properly buffered. This wasn’t noticeable until I examined them in better lighting. While I was actually in the chair, I noted that the filing of the nails were not even and asked her to correct them. After instructing the tech on EXACTLY what I wanted fixed, my mid length acrylics turned into nubs. When I asked her to take care of my cuticles, she used a mechanical tip which caused areas to bleed. Frustrated was not the word. The actual color selection was extremely limited and the service was not on par. These techs have no idea how to properly care for nails. I would not recommend coming here not only because of the above reasons, but because no place is worth damaging your nails to the extent they did mine once removed. Also, my French manicure peeled from my toes after lounging in a hot tub so I suspect they dilute their already cheap polishes. Not only do I plan on NEVER returning but I actually grimace when I walk past this place from the negative experience. Never again.

Worst manicure I’ve ever gotten. Lady who did my nails yelled at me the whole time that I was moving and ruining the polish(I wasn’t.) She also said she could recreate a picture of a mani I showed her and did a horrendous job. I’m embarrassed and am now on my way to have another salon remove this mess of a manicure. Don’t go here.

The two ladies who worked on me were wholly frustrated by my presence when I walked in, as if I were inconveniencing them by stopping by their empty store to give them my money. Watching the horror unfold on my hands and knowing there was little to nothing I could do about it was like experiencing very own special circle of hell. My fingers look like I let a nervous toddler paint them. Here are a few things that I SHOULD have purchased with my $ 30 rather than a mani-pedi from this place: 1. 3.75 bottles of high –quality nail polish from Ulta 2. 30 Mc Chickens from across the street(27 incl. tax) 3. Half a mani pedi at Mi Cumbia(the real MVP of Philly nail salons – worth the extra $$ for SURE) 4. A hair cut, which I need 5. 3 Pork and broc rabe sandies from dinics which is like 6 lunches BADERINBADBADBAD.

I frequent hole in the walls and don’t usually find a correlation on amount spent and quality of product. However, Elaine’s was a case of «you get what you pay for.» my friend and I stopped here for a mani pedi. The service was at best lukewarm. The young lady who helped me made an annoyed noise at the sight of my broken nail. Then she proceeded to give me quite a poor mani/pedi; the only redeeming quality was that it was not painful. I don’t rec.

Got my eyebrows waxed here. It only took 2 minutes. I wished she would’ve put some astringent or oil on my eyebrows since they puffed up a bit. It only cost $ 6, so I can’t really complain, and they look pretty good. I may come back again.

This place is HORRIBLE! Grimy on the outside, horrible service on the inside. ANDTHEYGAVETHEMSELVES A TIPONMYCREDITCARDDESPITEMECLEARLYSTATING $ 0INTIP!!! So I went in for a full-arm wax, the non-English speaking woman clearly told me it would be $ 30 before hand. There were only two women there, and every time someone came in for an eyebrow was, the woman LEFT me waiting there to do the eyebrows and came back. She left patchy pieces of hair ALL over my arm, and then told me afterwards she would charge me $ 40 because it took longer than she expected. When I refused, and told her I would only pay $ 30 because I clearly asked her the price beforehand, she said nothing. The next day I look at my credit card statement and she GAVEHERSELF A TIPFOR $ 4.50DESPITE my clearly stating $ 0 because of her horrible service.

Completely against my better judgement I stopped into this grotty looking nail joint just off of Market Street. I got a mani/pedi($ 25_) and prayed that nothing fungal would happen to me. So far, the pedicure g-ds have been with me. No problems. A decent, sheap mani/pedi — but the place looks pretty awful anf the nail tech spoke almost Zero english. Oh — and it was DEAD empty(just me and then toward the end of my services another lady came in for a mani/pedi. On a summer Wednesday.
