I pass Drexel Pizza pretty frequently as i live near by, but have never seen it very crowded. Their menu board always has late night deal that seem pretty good but never enticed me to go in. Then finally one day I thought lets see what this place is about. Go in and it was empty except for one other person. Ended up going with the lunch special, which was a chicken cheese steak and fries, came out to like $ 12 which i thought was alot for a college campus, especially since there are food trucks one minute away which cost half that price. Food came out and the portions were big, the quality was meh, fries were soggy, which absolutely kills me considering they cant get something relatively easy right not to mention that its probably one of their top sellers Overall i would not recommend Drexel Pizza from my experience, though the portions were big the food was meh at best and was overpriced especially considering the abundant options nearby, and that its aimed at college kids.

I want to love this place. Really I do. The owner is really friendly and it’s very close to my house, but the food is simply not good enough for the price. Their breakfast is pretty good, and if it were $ 3 cheaper I would eat there often. Their pizza is atrocious, and their«entrees» are not all that much better. If this place closed down for a bit, rebranded itself as a diner and got some halfway decent flatware, they could do well. But as it stands they are getting killed by restaurants that just do it better.

I took a nap in here once. Pretty good, but I slept a little weird on one shoulder. Don’t think I would come back. All-in-all, they have food.

I hate to say this, but I probably won’t return much now. Last time I was at Drexel Pizza, the ketchup at the table was rancid and had exploded all over the table. I also found plastic in my grilled cheese. Maybe I’ll be in for a milkshake now and again(the milkshakes are excellent), but my unpleasant memories probably won’t allow me to order much else.

Bad college pizza is a rite of passage. When an undergrad, you are willing to overlook the most egregious of wrongs when you’re almost broke and you need something to fill your stomach in a hurry. Once out, however, your standards quickly change. That isn’t to say that the people who work there aren’t nice. In fact, they’ve been very cordial. Sadly, that doesn’t help the pizza. To trash the nice people here seems churlish, so I won’t be a dick and go through all my perceived slights. Point of reference: in my professional life, I have been tasked with evaluating pizza dough that is currently frozen, topped with sauce and cheese in under one minute and thrown into an oven for five. That 6 minutes of almost effortless work yielded higher quality product than what I have sampled here. This isn’t a fluke either, as I have sampled both several times. I know for a certifiable fact that superior product is offered by other competitors in the immediate area.

The pizza here is actually really good. I came here with my mom last week for some power food before giving her a tour of Drexel’s campus. The only thing that made this visit less than perfect was the staff. We both ordered a beer, and after sitting down we realized that they overcharged us for beer. Turns out, they claimed that they haven’t updated the prices on the chalkboard. Being that it was chalk, you would think after giving a refund, they would erase that price and put up the real price, but they didn’t even touch the board to correct the problem. This leads me to wonder… Besides that awkward situation, the pizza was good, and the atmosphere was typical of a college pizza joint. I had the Godfather pizza, and just thinking about it makes me want some right now. I may go back soon to see if they ever changed the prices.

Honestly, I have been here a few times and have been disappointed each time. The food is just ok, but I would rather go to one of the neighboring food trucks if I had the option. I hate tone so hard on them, but for pizza there are plenty of better places. For burgers, fries or hoagies, I would travel a little further north or south instead.

Used to be the local hangout on the way to classes. PIzza is terrible here. Get the cheesesteak strombolis or any breakfast item there.

The pizza here tastes like frozen pizza, but you know the saying: even bad pizza is still good. In a hunger pinch, I’d eat it again. Other than that, nope.

Probably one of the better pizza shops in the area, I used to come here a lot when on shift for EMS. Given that I haven’t been on shift in almost 5 months, it’s been a while. Regardless, the variety of choices available here is good. From salads, pasta, sandwiches, paninis, breakfast items, steaks, hoagies/grinders, Greek food, Italian food, wraps, quesadillas… you get the point. They’ve got a good variety. And to their credit, unlike the abhorrent Savas a few blocks away, everyone has a fantastic attitude, they’re quick to help, and it’s not a jack-of-all-trades-and-master-of-none scenario. They actually are able to do justice to a lot of the categories of food that they have listed on the menu. As a vegetarian, I’ve most often chosen to just let them decide what I’m going to eat that day. To be honest, I’m really not that picky about what I eat, so long as it is veggie-friendly(unless we’re talking about coffee — in which case, I’m more selective than Harvard). They’ve really surprised me with some of their food, with my favorites being the Gyro Platter, the Greek Veggie Wrap, and the Greek Pita. Sadly, I have yet to have their pizza, but I’m sure I’ll cross that bridge in no time(and will subsequently report back with my findings… after all, it is called Drexel PIZZA). All in all, while I tend to be somewhat selective about the eateries that I frequent, Drexel Pizza certainly makes the cut.

I love this place! The food is delicious and the staff super friendly. The portions are huge though so you may need to take some home. The daily specials are very reasonably priced. It offers a ton of variety, from salads to sandwiches to wraps, and everything is just great!

This place has a lot of variety — pastas, sandwiches, pizza, and breakfast all day. Nothing is excellent but everything is alright. Much better than the super super greasy foods from nearby pizza shops(ahem, Cali Pizza…). I haven’t actually ever had the pizza from here but that’s because I rarely order pizza anywhere. I’ve had a few types of pastas here. I would consider it cheap, around 10 – 12 bucks for like 2 portions of pasta, soup or salad and a kaiser roll. The soup is usually homemade chicken noodle, plus a flaky roll, is good enough. Definitely share-able! It’s a much more comforting dinner for a college student(rather than Chick fila or just pizza…). Chicken strips and quesadillas w/veggies are also very generous in portions and around 7 bucks I think. Yummy too. My usual though? Cheesesteak special with fries. The cheesesteak itself isn’t anything special(sometimes dry) but the bread makes the whole sandwich sooo good. I honestly would prefer to get a cheesesteak here than at Pat’s or Geno’s, which are too greasy and the bread is toooo chewy! no appealing. Drexel pizza’s bread is crunchy on the outside and super soft on the inside. kind of like a banh mi sandwich. The fries have changed over the past three years. It used to be really crispy and seasoned. I would come here just for them. Kind of the style of New Deck Tavern’s fries(if you live in the area, you probably know what I mean). But now, its just meh. –½ star. Last thing, the service is great. They are prompt, nice and the place is always clean. The only thing is that the one cashier guy always calls us «babe» or «sweetie» and its kind of creepy. –½ star.

To be fair, I’ve never eaten here before… or at least not yet. However, I’m currently training for a 60 mile walk and last week I stopped in here on mile 4 of my walk in 93 degree heat, desperate for water. Wouldn’t you know, they were sold out! Now, I’ve encountered this situation before, which is why I make sure I carry cash in my bag when I’m out walking. Businesses(those which don’t just say«sorry» and move on) will charge you $ 1 for a cup, or they’ll make you buy something before giving you tap water. However, the man at Drexel Pizza informed us he was sold out, and then pointed us to his soda fountain and said«help yourself. Take as much as you need.» I’m big on customer service, and this was impressive to me(soapbox moment… how sad is it that we live in a society where the offering of free tap water impresses me?) Like I said, I haven’t eaten there YET. I plan to very soon. His kindness bought them a new customer. And for what its worth, I’ve told at least 20 people about that experience.

I’ve only ever gotten a turkey sandwich here: on a kaiser roll, totally straightforward and meaty. on a hoagie roll, even though I ordered with mayo and mustard, coming with oil and vinegar. Random. Otherwise, nothing exciting, just fine. I’ll be back, because it’s there, but you could do better.

My friends admittedly look down their noses at this place. As a much simpler soul, I happen to love it. It’s right in between the two parts of campus I go to the most(PSA and Korman) and they serve breakfast all day. So for lunch one day I had fluffy hotcakes with syrup. Delicious! I’ve also had the cheesesteak(nothing special but gets the job done). They can get hectic at lunch but not too crazy. Staff is nice and the booths are huge. Yay!

I think the food is pretty good. Over priced(I think. You can get the same thing at a lunch truck for a lot less) free soda refills. staff is pretty nice. food is out in a reasonable time, even if its busy. overall… a-ok!

My office is around the corner. It is your go to spot when its pouring, freezing, snowing, ridiculously hot, or any combination of those. The family that owns this place are really nice people. They have that going for them. Also, the breakfast is not bad, and is served all day(for those of you who like to eat eggs and hash potatoes for lunch). Otherwise, it works whens its pouring, freezing…

So, the food is bad. The hoagies taste funny, they use wilted lettuce, the fries suck, it’s overpriced(see a theme in the reviews?), the cheesesteaks are mediocre at best, and the pasta dishes are awful. It’s always packed, it’s convenient to three dorms(and the houses on Arch), and it’s where I met my gf before our first real date. So, I guess that’s worth a star. We didn’t eat there, though. Village and California Pizza are only 2 blocks away and are far superior. Go there.
