Hey folks. Today is Wanda’s birthday. Come on over and help her celebrate. The music is great!

So, it’s past time for an update, since the Del is almost back to its halcyon days(yay!) and I am once again a regular. A while ago, the owners bought the building next door and expanded the bar. Awesome move: now, in addition to a fabulous back«patio,» pleasant/mostly-friendly clientele, affordable drinks, great jukebox and occasional djs, they have a back section with room for 2 pool tables!(best part: one of the tables cannot be seen from the door, so it feels just as «private» as it did back in the day). If you’re a shooter, I suggest coming in the afternoons or after work– some nights the bar is hopping all night long, but for the most part I find the busiest times with the best competition to be in the early afternoon-after work time period. The tables are ok, although the return mechanism on the one closest to the bar sometimes malfunctions. The sticks are not so great, so if you’ve got one I recommend you bring one(there is one [1] beat ass 21 that is actually straight and has a nice tip, so everyone without a stick is hawking it at all times). As always, whether you want to stare at your drink in miserable silence, companionably watch the game exchanging superficial chitchat with random strangers, or laugh and shoot the breeze with fun and funny people, the Delmar is the place for you. I am thrilled that the Delmar is back in full swing, and especially that a lot of the old shooters(like me) are starting to come back. Coming back feels almost like coming home…

I love the drinks, the old head bartenders are cool. It’s a chill neighborhood spot, no drama.
