This place is mediocre at best compared to Rita’s Water ice. I tried to like it but I just couldn’t. The service is incredibly slow and the girls that work there are always preoccupied and rude. The name has also changed. It is not Custards Last Stand anymore. It is now Richman’s. Not to mention the fact that this place highly over priced. Your better off avoiding this place.

I was completely ignored by three woman at the window. They just conversed with on another while I rang the bell for service, I even tapped the window and waved. Really feels terrible to be completely ignored. I’ll never go back.

It’s a good place to go for my kids since it’s so close, I do wish they took credit. Now and days who really carries cash? I do like the options for water ice or ice cream. I wouldn’t say go out of your way for richmans, but it isn’t to common to find an ice cream spot, so for kids it’s more about the experience.

I think this is called Richman’s now. When it was Custard’s it was a great place to grab a cone, sundae, etc but now it’s lost it’s luster. The staff are clueless and really slow. I asked if their mint chocolate chip ice cream was green(we all know the green tastes better) and the girl gave me a look like I had just asked if there were unicorn farts in it. Like really?! After two minutes of checking she confirmed yes it was green. Another time I requested sliced bananas and the girl at the register had to ask the boss if they could do that. Ugh really?! Also their prices are a bit high. Conveniently located near my house but utterly annoying.

I’ve been going to this custard place since the 60’s? Well not this place. Was a real cowboy western log cabin on cottman near NEHigh. Love hand dipped Bryers Choco chip. Leave a tip for the young lassies.

I was sold when I read Cinnamon bun ice cream. I did really enjoy my cone, but it did take an eternity to scoop to balls into a waffle. I wish the service was faster and the prices were cheaper. Overall it is decent ice cream, there’s parking and some benches in the back to sit. The staff was also pretty friendly.

Slow service 7 minutes for a soft serve cone is too long. And the jimmies are way over priced

Today’s hankering to get chocolate wasted led me here. I typically base my star rating on the following: How badly do I want my money back? After visiting Custard’s Last Stand I want not only my money back but also the calories I just wasted. For their regular sized chocolate hand dipped on a waffle cone I paid $ 4.95. The servings are not generous and the chocolate wasn’t very chocolatey. Final verdict? Wish I wouldve gotten a $ 1.99 carton of Friendly’s and a box of cones from ShopRite.

You would think this place had Frozen Custard given the name right? Wrong. It’s ice cream. It’s good… akin to DQ, but not sure if it is amazing… but like sex, even bad ice cream is good. I think the prices were slightly high like the other poster said too.

Custard’s Last Stand is heaven. It’s an old school ice cream stand with a few benches and lots of standing space. Their big draw for me is the frozen yogurt. It’s just about the closest thing to the delicious, heavenly ice cream I miss so much. You can get an assortment of toppings: gummy bears, peanut butter cups, M&M’s. But my favorite thing they have is the pretzel cones. If you’ve never had pretzels with ice cream or frozen yogurt, you are missing out on one of the great joys in life. In fact, you should stop reading this and go try it right now. Don’t worry, this review will still be here when you get back… –intermission– …so now that you understand the wonderfulness that is ice cream and pretzels, you’ll know why the pretzel cone is the way to go. If you want toppings, they’ll put the ice cream in a bowl, throw the toppings on and then stick the pretzel cone on top like a hat. Do it. You won’t regret it. The biggest drawback are their prices… they’re a little high and I would probably go a little more often if they were lower, but there is always a crowd of people so I don’t think they’re hurting too bad. Enjoy!
