So I’ve been to Dee several times the first couple of times she did my hair fine. The next few times I was not happy at all. One time it was too thin and the next time my braids were too big so it didn’t last long, one time I went to get my weave tightened and it smelled like weed In there. I did not appreciate that.

Let me start off with saying that Dee seems like a nice girl, and she was friendly during my appointment. However, her work is far from professional. I went to Dee about a year ago, and she did an absolutely horrible job on my hair! I found Dee’s website because she is the first listing that pops up on google when you type in «Philadelphia» and«Sew-in.» I booked an appointment with Dee because I was so impressed by all the amazing reviews found on her website: . Looking back, I remeber thinking that the sequence of the review postings seemed a bit sketchy. For example, there would be three reviews on Oct 12, two reviews on Oct 14, two reviews on Oct 16, three reviews on Oct 18. Seems very unlikely that you would have multiple reviews every two days consistently. Further, there was not one bad review out of over a hundred reviews. Given that her google listing is still showing up first one year later, I want to send an adequate warning to all who find this page on Unilocal.First, she was not working in a salon, but out of her house(I assume she still does since the listing is still for Grape St.). Second, she told me she did not have a license! These were two facts that were not disclosed when I booked my appointment. When I arrived at her personal residence instead of a salon, I decided to go ahead and try her out because I was in a hurry to get my hair done. However, imagine my dismay when she proceeded to wash my hair in a kitchen sink that still had bits of food in it! By the time she finished, I was just trying to get out of there. I couldn’t really tell how bad the work was until I got home and discovered I had big dookie braids underneath. I called her several times, and I left a message explaining that I was not happy with the work, but she never called me back. Imagine paying $ 100 and taking your hair out the next day… what a waste! I submitted a bad review on her website that I noted above, and, of course, it was never posted.

Where do I begin about Classy & Chic Sewn In Weaves?! Well, for starters I can’t remember if I found this shop by doing a Google search or jby doing a search for weaveologist in Philadelphia on Instagram! But, either way, I’m glad I found Classy & Chic Sewn In Weaves! Dee, the weaveologist, is phenomenal, because she can literally do it all! I went to her thinking that my thin hair and trouble spots would leave me with less options than her other clients, but she told me, my issue was not a problem and that I had the same options as the next! And she wasn’t lying… Dee is not the type of stylist that will do it, just to do it… she makes sure that the style is natural and fits the client! Which in my mind is very important, because the last thing I want is someone to install something on my head, knowing that I should’ve went with something else! I put all my trust in the stylist, hoping that they will look out for my best interest… not because I am paying them, but because I am also, in my mind, representing their product/business! And also, while speaking with Dee, she shared with me her own personal testimonial on how she started installing weaves — Dee definitely understands all types of hair textures and issues… and she definitely understands how hair changes how a person feels about themselves… young and old, so that was another selling point for me! There were so many of them! Dee, did a consultation with me… she asked me questions, such as – Are you tender-headed? What look are you trying to achieve? How full do you want it? Natural or Beyonce full… And while she installed, she made sure that I was comfortable with the process — not too tight, etc… Since this was my first sewn in, she answered all of my questions, before the installation, during and after… By the time it was all said and done… I knew that I had a style that I could maintain without a doubt! There’s so much I have to say… but, I don’t want to sound like, I’m rambling… LOL! But, anyway, Dee makes it her business to get you in and out… because, you know… ain’t nobody got time to be sitting up in no chair all day… and definitely all night! That was one of the things that sold me… Now, I’m coming from South Jersey… and we have more than enough salons/shops that do the same thing… but, who wants to wait… I was with Dee for LESSTHANONEHOUR… I was in and out! It took me about an half an hour to get to her… less than an hour in her chair… so, less than two hours… and I still get to enjoy my day! Now, I could’ve gone to a salon… but, then I run into the problem of the stylist over booking… having to wait to be shampooed… having to wait to be dried… having to wait my turn to get in the chair… it’s such a process! So, you decide… in and out… or spend the day watching everybody else get their hair done and come and go?! Classy & Chic Sewn In Weaves should definitely be your«go-to spot» for your next installation, re-tighten, virgin hair purchase, etc., because you definitely won’t be sorry! You’ll go to Dee and wonder why you spent your whole day in the past at the salon… and now that it’s getting nice out… that’s more of reason for you to give Dee a call! :)
