City Pizza of 16th St

I wanted to give this a lower review because we waited an hour in a half for the pizza but… the pizza was really good and if it wasn’t for that long of a wait for 1 pizza it would have gotten 5 stars.

solid pizza for a solid price. love city pizza. always great food, and they’re always on time with the food being ready. everyone seems friendly in the restaurant and I’ll order from there as long as it’s in business!

Was in Philly for work. Ordered Pepperoni slice. And mushroom slice.
Liked it a lot. Big slices. The bread and crust on the pizza was very good.
One-​topping slice $ 1.99.

I live approximately 8 blocks away they told me I was out of the delivery zone… no I’m n an urban area that’s y… ignorance …

Hands down for us, City Pizza has the best menu going at the most reasonable prices for a take out restaurant. Any menu item will be made the way you want. The calzones are gigantic and the price is unbelievable. Steak sandwiches chicken italiano and a whole host of inexpensive good food but the pizza is the star. I have to give kudos to the drivers, they consistently deliver hot food and if they ever forget a soft drink they’ve run right back and grab it. I had a house party and the joint was packed and I wasn’t going to cook, so we decided to order 20 pizzas spacing out delivery for the evening as people came and went. I actually ordered in late afternoon and told them what I was doing and they were on target; 4 deliveries of 5 pies. Needless to say every pie with every topping they had was appreciated and I had 20 empty boxes. They’ve been around a long time as others have come and gone.
Always tip your delivery guy/​gal well they know when your order comes up

Pizza is Pizza? Not at this Pizzeria. I found the best neighborhood choice by far. It’s consistent and always made fresh. Delivery and Pick-​up only~ not a sit down eat in place (but maybe someday). Always find it magic to watch the spirited «How you doing» staff at work putting together pizzas of every type, like a thoughtful fine tuned factory. Kind of like ART!!! Yes I am singing praises because I am never disappointed and always pleased!!! The menu has other food choices to select, so everyone can get satisfied! My good pick, is pick one up or have it delivered.

If you are planning to order from this place think again. First of all the pizza isn’t that good, dont believe all the locals who have ties to this place, it’s average at best. Second, I ordered a pizza tonight and they delivered it, only problem was the black charred crust covering the entirety of the pizza; thanks city pizza for having such high quality controls and allowing that to be delivered; thank you for wasting my hard earned money and then offering an exchange; do u think I want to wait another 30 minutes for your subpar, soon to be in your local trash dump product. I work in a kitchen in the city and if anyone sent out shit like that they would be embarrassed, then fired; too bad this place has the standards of a drunk looking for a woman at 2am. Needless to say I used to order from here once in a while, it will never happen again. Btw, try cutting potatoes and making fresh fries instead of serving the excuse for a fry you do; one word sums up my experience with this company… pathetic.

If I could give this place a rating lower than once star I would. Absolutely the worst pizza that I have ever had. It’s extremely greasy and has a terrible flavor. There is far more grease on the pizza than there is cheese or sauce. The Stromboli is a huge slab of way too much cheap mozzarella and cheap pepperoni. The salads suck. Don’t bother with this place, you’re better off with a frozen pizza.

This is my go-​to spot for pizza in the neighborhood. The pizza is very good, but it is so much better when you request it well done. They always accommodate and all of my orders are perfect. Well they did forget the cheese on my cheese fries ONCE. They even offered to send a driver back, when I called, but I received free cheese on my next order.
As you can tell, I order from here a lot. Their prices are good and they are extremely consistent. If you order on a Friday (especially during Lent) you will wait at least an hour for delivery. Other than that, which you can’t get mad at because I just warned you, they are pretty awesome.

I downloaded this app specifically to write this review. The WORST take out I’ve ever had in my life! Soggy steaks, frozen Mozzarella Sticks were nasty! Smothered fries Disgusting, brought wrong sandwich first. Chicken was Grey on the buff. chicken chs. steak. Absolutely GOD AWEFUL! NEVER AGAIN! WASTE OF 30 $. Order from ANYWHERE else. The cook Should be FIRED IMMEDIATELY! !!! Won’t let me use no stars.

Pizza was delicious. Fast service and affordable pick up. I ordered a cheesesteak and a green pepper and onion pizza. It only took 20 minutes and i think cost only around $ 18 for both items. Was totally surprised how good it was. I also picked up and got a «how you doin» from everyone in the place. Pretty cool.

Fast service, excellent pizza. The storefront was clean and welcoming. Courteous staff greeted me quickly. Got a large plain pie and it was fresh out of the oven as soon as I showed up. Absolutely delicious, and even better the next day reheated! I’m very impressed with the quality of their cheese. Nothing better than oils dripping off your slice. Yum! I’ll certainly be returning.

Great pizza and the smothered fries are unrivaled by others who make the same attempt. Only complaint-​the people who answer the phone are perpetually annoyed and rude, but worth it for the amazing pizza.

Pizza is awful. Even the steaks, you order a steak sandwich, its always burnt!!!

Nice, thick crusted, cheesy pizza! They only have delivery or take out… no dine-​in area. I prefer it to Uncle Oogies.

Dependable local pizza option.
They make a fine spinach and mushroom pizza, and their sausage isn’t shabby. I know I’m not alone when I say I enjoy their pizza, as friends and I polished off quite a few of their pies one afternoon.

The pizzaz is one of my favorites pies in this neck of the woods, spicy but not over the top.
The mushroom pie is also quite tasty.
Nothing fantastic, and mediocre customer service.
