I am going to echo what the others have said about this store. The guys that run this place are super awesome, nice and friendly. Also, and not that I buy this stuff anymore, but they sell sheesha supplies. The«fresh produce» is really just potatoes and onions in the winter, but I have seen some other produce when it is in season. Pretty good prices for everything, slight mark up, but not price gouging by any means. Cigarettes are fairly priced too(but they are cheaper at Wawa or most gas stations).

I lived right next to Charlie Food and it was perfect. They are your typical local convenient store. They have a slightly lager selection than a 7⁄11 but at a slightly higher cost. They have no name sodas for $.50 like pineapple and cola. Most importantly, I contest that they have the best pizza on the Drexel Campus. Even their reheated like $ 2 slices are really good. I recommend buying a whole pizza though to ensure it is at its best. But they have really good specialty pizzas(Buffalo Chicken Pizza is my favorite) and just plain regular pizza.

I would die without this place. It’s the only bodega for half a mile that takes credit cards. Not only that, but it is open late, looks nice, and has pretty good stock. Food is all Halal, so no normal marshmallows and no bacon, and they have organic options that you wouldn’t expect of a small store, but that’s sometimes at the expense of normal food that you would expect them to have, like big bags of chips. Staff are friendly and reasonable. I don’t usually bother with their hot food but it’s not too bad. Charlie Food is a bit more expensive than the other shops nearby, possibly because it takes credit and is open till 11, but for anybody living nearby in need of milk at 9pm it’s a godsend.

Finally Powelton Village has a bodega that isn’t terrible! These guys are so nice and they have everything from some fresh produce to deli section(all Halal, so embrace the beef bacon) plus they have vegan and organic options(read Annie’s mac and cheese and instant Indian rice dishes). They also sell pizza by the slice and some pretty awesome fried chicken. The best part is, they are so personable that they still remember my entire family(including my dog) after a visit 4 months after we moved out of the neighborhood. Plus, they remembered our cigarette brand… Definitely stop in when you have an ice cream craving or need to quick idea for dinner. Everything is pretty reasonably priced, but still pricier than your normal grocery store.
