Beware the crowds and the limited prix-fixe menus, but despite this, Restaurant week can be a great way to try a restaurant that would usually be cost prohibitive. Nevertheless, sometimes I just want what I want — and in that case I would skip this week and go another time. You get what you pay for.

Ah, Restaurant Week. It’s one of my favorite times of the year. For you poor souls who have no idea what Restaurant Week is, I’ll explain. Basically, once or twice a year, a bunch of the best restaurants in Philly offer a special deal. They all offer a 3-course meal for about 30 bucks(appetizer, entrée, and dessert). For some, $ 30 isn’t too far off what you’d normally spend, but, for most, 30 bucks is a fantastic deal. I get excited for Restaurant Week b/c it’s a chance to eat at a place I normally couldn’t afford or an excuse to eat at a place that I’ve been wanting to try. It’s important to make reservations ASAP for whichever restaurant you want to go to, pretty much as soon as they announce the dates for Restaurant Week. This year, RW is Sept. 23 – 28, and Amada is already booked(as are, I’m sure, some of the other restaurants on the list).
