C & D Appliances

Last year we purchased a washer and dryer from C&D. C&D Appliances put the dryer together wrong — causing the thermostat to misread the temperature. The dryer was dangerously overheating; baking our clothes and creating a terrific burning smell that permeated our clothing and home. C&D also didn’t install the rubber seal around the dryer door — it was left hanging below the door inside the dryer). We have a 23″ basement trap door and were limited to the type of washer/​dryer and number of local installers. Wish I had chosen Northeast when I purchased/​installed the washer/​dryer. C&D installers were rude, left a mess and clearly did not do a proper job installing a gas dryer — which created a hazardous situation.

Bought a stove here real cheap and good price paid cash and did not charge me sales tax.

If you know what you want, call ahead to see if they have it and go pick it up. But do not go here to shop around.
I needed a dehumidifier pronto as a result of ton much moisture condensing from a plaster project in my house. Every other mom and pop store I called around to told me it would take a week to get the one I wanted. C&D told me they could get it in for me the next day. And they did at a price similar to what was listed at the big box stores.
What I didn’t like was the experience of picking it up. As customer service oriented as they were on the phone, they were the exact opposite in person. They have two spaces with orange cones in front of the store with a sign «Customer Parking». I moved a cone to park there and told the guy I was a customer picking something up. He told me he likes to reserve it for his trucks and was just a jerk about it.
The store was horrifying. Dirty. Disorganized. TV blaring. Appliances looked like they had been siting there for years collecting dust. He was more interested in talking to his friend than in getting me rung up and out the door. I had to ask for his help carrying it to my car and he made it seem like a chore. I won’t go back here unless I am in a pinch.

These men are a bunch of liars and thieves. I have never been treated with such disrespect or neglect by any professional. All I needed was a simple dryer installation, which turned into a week long project which they refused to finish. They showed up twice to tell me they needed a part we did not have (The same part both times). Afterward, they did not return to finish the job and instead lied to me, saying that he had arrived and I was nowhere to be found. Upon calling to reschedule, the gentleman I spoke to cursed me out for his inability to perform even a simple task. Do not trust them.

This place is the worst. I actually purchased 2 appliances from them — they’re right up the street from me and I wanted to support local businesses. After being very helpful in the sale and getting my deposit, the guy was downright rude, hanging up on me and also telling me on the phone when I explained I was not going to give him the balance due until the job was done to the specifications we agreed upon (he was supposed to have his guys install a shut-​off valve for my gas range, for which I paid extra, and they didn’t do it), he actually said me to, «Get your ass down here and pay me!» and hung up. DO NOT patronize them! Horribly unprofessional.

So, I have been doing laundry for 5 people: two of whom are teenage boys… in a very small South Philly type of washer and dryer… that all changed as of Tuesday when my husband and I walked in to C&D where we bought our first Speed Queen washer and dryer. The guys from C&D built the two machines in our South Philly row home basement (tiny entrance. you know what I’m talking about!!) and I am living the dream now! LOVE THESE GUYS!!!

i too needed the washer and dryer that breaks down. i could not be happier with c and d appliances. from the moment i stepped in their show room they were simply the best. he even sold me a model cheaper than i was prepared for.
the work men are here now installing the dryer, they finished the washer already. they are nothing but polite and hard working!!! i love this company!!!
