Sweet mother of god… if you’re a fan of PBR, this is your Mecca. Floor to ceiling, all around the walls… PBR…PBR everywhere. Memorabilia. Old employee badges. Posters. Mirrors. It’s…amazing. It’s also *pretty* tiny, and it’s a cash only spot, so definitely bring your patience and hit the ATM before you arrive.

Been here twice. Love, love, love this place. Came here with friends for their Thursday night drag show. It’s great. What great performers and the host calls you up to dance if it’s your birthday and you get a ticket for a free drink. They also have what’s known as the city wide special which is a shot of jim beam and a pounder of PBR for I think either $ 2.50 or $ 3.00

$ 3 PBRs and a shot of Jim Beam specials! With PBR stickers all over the walls of a dark enclosed space, this place has definitely got the dive bar feel. We enjoyed some city wide specials and live Jazz music on a Wednesday night. They even have a jukebox that plays classic nostalgic tunes. At night, after about 10:30pm, this place gets packed. On Thursday nights they have their drag show which you may hear starts at 9:00pm, but it definitely begins much later in the night so be prepared to wait a few hours. However, you can always order several $ 3 beverages that will be pretty heavy in liquor while you wait. It’s always a great and random crowd of locals from all over Philadelphia. You can spark up a conversation with anyone there and find something in common to drink to. The only downside is that it’s cash only and there is a cover after 10pm. But there’s an ATM by the front entrance!

Came here on a quiet afternoon and I’m so glad my boyfriend and I decided to go in. You step back in time when you open the door and what an inviting vibe. The red leather padded edges of the bar are cozy to rest your elbows upon all while drinking the best and cheapest city special around. The bartender even gave me a big dill pickle to munch on when I inquired, after seeing other patrons crunching away. All in all no matter what you are looking for this place will have it, from drag show Thursdays to country nights they provide something for every style all while providing so much of their own.

I’ll be honest that I don’t even know if they serve food here nor do I go for the drinks which are true blue ‘dive bar’ pours. BUT, their live entertainment is fantastic and if you can make room enough to look around the packed bar, you’ll see a huge diversity of folks in here all having a great time. People actually groove on the makeshift dance floor as well!

They have a rule… Go to the bathroom solo. BUT after 3 round of drinks my fiancé helped me into the bathroom because I wasn’t feeling very well, we literally got kicked out. That is seriously unhumane. WTF? First the bartender told us that was our first warning, fine point taken and then we were escorted out? We are telling ALL of our friends and family to never come back here. Honestly you guys are A$$holes. I can understand if we were there for a year. But you have two bathrooms & We were in there for maybe 10 minutes tops.

While not the diviest bar I have been to, Bob & Barbara’s has many unique aspects to it.
First think you’ll notice is all the PBR signs on the wall and all the people drinking PBR. I guess charging $ 2 per can does that. They have some different type of live entertainment every night. On Friday’s it’s a Jazz band not sure about the other days.
A few drink specials: $ 3.50PBR& Jim Beam $ 5.00PBR& Whiskey This place gets very packed after 11pm on Friday’s; you’ll likely have to wait in line outside for a bit after that time.

Worst bar on the planet. Anyone that revolves their establishment around PBR wants to watch the world burn. I reward you no points and may God have mercy on your soul.

B&B’s is a solid dive where you can always get a kick ass deal on a shot and a beer. The vibe is intimate and friendly & the bartenders are such nice people who make you feel welcome. AND The walls are covered in vintage PBR signs, I want them all!!! Each night seems to have a different type of entertainment lined up. Sunday’s are karaōke, Wednesday’s offer a variety show of comedy, singing, and burlesque. Pretty cool!

I miss this place so much. I used to live close by so I would go often. The best nights are the Drag Show nights. I think they used to be on Thursdays. They’re known for being home of the first City Wide special but their other drinks are super cheap as well. Last time I was there the place was super crowded and the customer base seems to have changed a little bit. There were more out of control 21 year olds a couple of which had to be escorted out. If you don’t mind being squeezed into a small space definitely try this bar. Cash only.

This is the diviest of dives I have ever seen. The $ 3.50 pbr & jim beam special appears to be the only thing anyone was drinking. There were smartly dressed old irishmen crooning Dean Martin songs on the sunday night karaōke, guys that look like borderline hobos, guys and girls that look gangsta, guys that look like clean cut medical students who took a wrong turn and wonder what they’re doing here. All the world is here.

This place is a gem! I’m a huge fan of dive bars, and this one is well placed, near expensive bar options. I was glad to go hear rather than a more expensive place. $ 2 PBRs. Awesome service. A fun jam band. I don’t have any complaints at all! Of course they had the $ 5 Citywide special(shot of whiskey and a PBR)

This place is pretty fun! Went with a group of friends to the drag show last night. A $ 7 cover gets you in for the show and a $ 2 discount on your first drink. Everything is cash only. Drinks were quite affordable. They participate in the citywide special too. The DJ was playing some great tracks before the show started. If you plan to go, take note the doors are at 10, but the show starts at 11:15 so they give you some time to spend your money at the bar. The drag show left something to be desired in comparison to others I’ve seen, but I liked seeing a more divey, neighborhood style show. And the costumes were great! Mostly standing room only for the show except for a few high tops around the stage. They brought some audience members up to dance and gave them a Bob & Batbara’s tee and a drink ticket for being good sports. Even saw a couple grannies up there! Keep it up ladies!

Awesome dive bar! Went on a Thursday afternoon… not crowded… interesting mix of folks. Chill afternoon drinking spot. The Citywide Special($ 3.50PBR and a shot of Beam) hit the spot. Dark and full of PBR promo stuff(it’s like a Pabst museum). Everything you’d want in a dive…

After dinner at a Entrée, we popped in here. A steady stream of 20 somethings were being carded ahead of us, we get there and it’s «no, you’re good» Lmao! Always a reality check. Of course, we now finish dinner when the younger folk are just getting started… but I digress. The place was packed! We planted ourselves at the red leather, padded trimmed bar and took in the sights of all manner of folks. Lots of specials being downed(PBR and a shot); a few brave souls did picklebacks… the special chased with pickle juice. The place is a trip back in time– old school beer signs and the register looks straight out of 1950. A live jazz band was also playing. Everyone was friendly, there’s nothing pretentious about it and the drinks are cheap. I can see why it’s so popular.

$ 3.50BEER + SHOTSPECIAL Weird crowd. Old people, young people, crusties, bros, gangsters, etcetera. Bob & Barbara’s runs the gamut. Great people watching. It can get insanely crowded on weekend nights. If you’re claustrophobic, you might want to avoid the dance floor.

Best Thursday night in the city. Drag show starts at 11 with Lisa Lisa. She is a strong opening act and the Mc for the rest of the night. You can almost always guarantee a Celine Dion song mixed in with the typical top 40. Great entertainment with even better drink specials. 3 $ for a pbr and jack Daniels shot. Does life get any better?

I really like this place. Like really. This is the bar where you can ask for a Colt 45 and not be embarrassed about it. Lol. I came here for«The Special«. I’d heard you get a PBR can and a shot of JIM Beam for $ 3. We didn’t stay long because we were headed to a few other spots along south street. The music was cool. Kinda Top 40ish or whatever but I liked it. Four stars because of the male bartender. We sat down. He came over and slapped down two napkins on the bar. No hey ladies, how u doin, how’s your day. Nothing. He almost seemed annoyed by us. We ordered the Specials. I paid, tipped. No thanks or anything. SHEESH. I understand it’s a dive but damn can a lady get the slightest bit of hospitality here? Well, he was the same way with all the customers so it wasnt just us. The crowd for a Monday was nice. Bar was filled but not to capacity or anything. I’m almost sure everyone that was there had a Special. Btw, the Special is $ 3.50, not $ 3 but who effing cares. where else are you getting a beer AND a shot for less than five smackers? Nowhere. While the service was spotty, it won’t stop me from returning. I’ll be back.
