Overall, I had an okay experience. My hair is natural and I keep it short. Long on the top/front and tapered on the sides and back. It was my first time getting my hair pressed out in 10 years. The stylist was a bit hesitant on doing my hair for a couple of reasons 1) Getting a silk press isn’t cheap(she generally charges around $ 60-$ 70) and she wasn’t sure it would be worth it just to have my hair revert back in a week or even shorter. 2) She wasn’t sure she could get my hair very straight, more specifically the shorter part in the back. Okay, so let’s start the review. Timeliness: I arrived for my appointment 5 minutes before my scheduled time and my hair was started right on time and not a minute after. I was impressed. The stylist was efficient and had me in and out. I can honestly say there wasn’t a moment that I was idle, waiting for/on the stylist. She had me out in less than 2 hours which isn’t my typical black salon experience. Cost: Compared to other salons and considering my hair was short. I think it was on the higher end of the scale. Cleanliness: Based on first impressions, this salon could have been much cleaner. There were coats all over the seating area, the bathroom, dryer area, and washing area could have all been cleaner. I need to have things in order and cleanliness is an important factor when it comes to visiting an establishment. Towels and pieces of hair were on the floor in the drying room. Attentiveness: I was able to show the stylist my hairstyle. Since my hair was already cut all she had to do was press it out and comb it into the style. She initially did her own style, but I had reminded her that I had a picture with me and I wanted to have my hair look exactly like the picture to which she did her thing and I was content as she delivered on what I had asked. Professionalism/Customer Service: This area could have definitely been improved. From the moment I walked in. I received a dry hello. My stylist didn’t appear in the best of moods. She didn’t look like she wanted to even do my hair much less even be there(she was sitting down in her phone). I think it may have been the latter. This was the vibe I was getting from her since I walked in to when I walked out. Secondly, my wash/shampoo was uncomfortable. The water was hot. The shampoo girl felt like she was trying to scrub a stain from the carpet. It was rough, hard, and uneccessary. Overall, I think I will continue to shop around and experience other shops/salons. This will not be my go-to salon unless I am in dire need of getting my hair done and I have no other options.

They are only getting one star because Unilocal won’t let me give zero stars!!! This salon is the worst. I called to make an appointment and when i got there early mind you, i wasn’t seen until almost two hours after my appointment time. I waved this off because it was a Saturday. What i couldn’t overlook how ever was how bad they messed up my hair. I wanted my hair dyed bright pink, i was VERYCLEAR and VERYSURE about what i wanted. They didn’t have the color i wanted in their shop so they sent me across the street to the hair store and told me what brand to buy. The stylist kept asking me through the whole process if i was sure that i wanted my whole hair that color and boasted about how good she is with color. When she rinsed the color out instead of neon pink, my hair was an awful pumpkin orange redish color. Then she said when she blow drys it that it will be the right color. Needless to say it didn’t change. I was fuming! Then she kept asking me what did i want to do, if i wanted her to make it darker. She kept saying the dye must have had a red base and that she didn’t know what happened. She offered no solution to go forward and fix my hair. Needless to say I didn’t pay her and will never visit this shop again!!!

Awesome hair salon. I haven’t had my hair straightened in 7 months and Gia took care of this thick unruly mane of mine like a pro and gave me a well needed trim. Reasonably priced and everyone is very kind. I will definitely be going back.

I am VERY particular with my natural 4A hair. I was in really desperate need of a trim. I recently did a volunteer event and someone suggest me here. I saw there was a groupon and I thought«even betta!» Everyone was very friendly, and helpful from the over the phone service to the way they handled my hair. And they have women who really do EVERYTHING here from natural, to perm. And dont be scared if your natural because these ladies do their thing, and if you have an issue with anything they will have no problem doing something you asked. They only reason I didn’t give and extra star is because I didn’t really care for the way my hair was blow-dried and because I didn’t have a heat protectant before blowdrying. I don’t get my hair straightened that often, and nor did some of the women who were in the salon. But everyone who was in there had at least shoulder length hair, that says something! I already scheduled my next appointment, and you should too!
