I have been using Marilyn for 14 years for both personal and business tax preperation. She has been fantastic and I would highly recommend her to anyone who needs these services. She is responsive, accurate and swift — and an overall pleasure to work with.

I ABSOLUTELYHATEDOINGMYTAXES and it has nothing to do with the fact that the government is stealing me blind. I hate taxes because I don’t understand them. Isn’t that human nature to hate that which we don’t understand? To make matters worse, I can’t even understand Turbo-Tax which has its purpose, but if you want to stand up against an IRS audit and win every time, Marilyn L. Newton is your go-to person. She is NOT a CPA, but«Accountants» was the only Unilocal drop-down menu descriptor that fit her qualifications. What makes her a go-to person is that she is an E. A.(an Enrolled Agent). What does that mean? Simply put, Marilyn is a private contractor upon whom the IRS calls to audit returns whenever there is a shortage of agents. Recently, the government has furloughed, laid-off, retired and fired so many agents, that this is the woman to see. So what? you say. So she works for the government part-time. Well, I can’t think of a way to say it more simply than this: THEGOVERNMENTTRUSTSMARILYN! So if you truthfully present your tax situation to her, and if she prepares your taxes, she places her«E.A.» after her name, and your chances of being audited go to the bottom of the pile, especially in our current economic times. We were referred to Marilyn when we moved from the Central Valley and lost the personal touch of our CPA who got too big for its britches. They no longer cared for us as an individual client and neglected to assist us in keeping our liabilities to a minimum. A friend of ours, who is the CEO and CFO of two major companies in the East Bay and in the Central Valley, turned us onto Marilyn because of her integrity, education, experience and forthright nature. Our annual tax preparation cost was cut in half. Marilyn no longer works out of her former Newark office(5910 Thornton Avenue), but during tax season, she does make appointments at that location. Her primary office is now in Fiddletown, where she will meet with you, or you can schedule a telephone interview with her and then mail the information necessary for your tax preparation. So if you want to try this trusted, tried and true lady to prepare your taxes, e-mail Marilyn at: . Tell her David and Susan Childress recommended her. I guarantee that you will be so totally satisfied that you will not only retain her, but you will not look anywhere else as long as she continues to provide this service. Marilyn L. Newton is PLATINUM in my books!
