My entire family and I stayed at the Harvest Moon Bed & Breakfast on our summer 2015 Holiday World vacation for 2 nights. We had a very large group so we rented all the rooms. This was my first b&b experience so I didn’t quite know what to expect. I can confidently say after touring all the rooms that you really can’t go wrong with any of them! Each one has its unique perks. A concern of mine when staying anywhere is cleanliness and let me just say that our bed in the Lavender Escape room was very comfortable and smelled so fresh and clean! I appreciated the individual climate control in each room and the selection of soaps and shampoos in the bathrooms. As for the breakfast, it was amazing both mornings we had it! On the first day we had Ruthie’s stuffed french toast made with her own homemade bread(yeah, it was ridiculously good) along with scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh cut fruit, orange juice and coffee. Day 2 was pancakes. We had plain, blueberry, and chocolate chip along with homemade cinnamon rolls and the same line up of side dishes as the first day. The blueberry pancakes were my favorite! Overall we had a great experience. Ruthie is very personable and makes you feel right at home. Holiday World is pretty much a straight shot from the Harvest Moon Bed & Breakfast making it our family’s go to vacation spot when visiting the park.

We stayed at Harvest Moon the night of May 30th during a Saturday/Sunday visit to Holiday World(from Nashville). Our trip was not planned too far in advance and we’d been a bit put off by local hotel ratings coupled with their nightly rates. We happened to stumble across Harvest Moon’s site and called to check on availability. To our surprise, Ruthie was able to reserve the Flower Garden room for us. There is no «hotel» feel at all here, you just feel like a guest in someone’s house. Ruthie knew everything about the town and was able to help us plan some side trips we wanted while in the area. We went out and explored Sunday morning before returning for breakfast. As already mentioned, the breakfast will exceed any expectations you have. There was a large selection and everything was awesome. Everything in Harvest Moon is clean, neat and nicely decorated. You have your own AC so you can have your own climate control in your room. The beds were comfortable and the area is very quiet. The whole process is very informal too which is a nice bonus. Ruthie asked what a good time for breakfast would be, some things we may or may not eat, told us just to pay whenever we were satisfied with everything, etc. I’ve yet to mention that during our visit the nightly rate was much lower than those previously mentioned area hotels! Also this area is an hour ahead of Holiday World so that definitely works to your advantage. It is just a few minutes up a single road from Holiday World as well so those not familiar with the area(like us) will not have to worry about getting lost. Our stay at Harvest Moon was the perfect compliment to our Holiday World trip.

My wife and daughter prefer a B&B over a hotel any day. The affordable rooms and large delicious breakfast(the stuffed french toast was heavenly) make this the best bargain around. Already contemplating how we can come back and stay here.

My wife, kids(6yo and 3yo) and I just spent two nights at the Harvest Moon Bed and Breakfast during our visit to Holiday World. We stayed there in 2012 too but never got around to writing a review. We were initially reluctant to stay last year because we rarely pick places without reading good reviews on-line or being referred by a friend. We were very glad we took a chance. I’m pretty easy going for comfort of a room I’m only going to be in for a few days but the wife might as well by a hotel critic. She only has good things to say about the bathroom, cable, free wi-fi, comfort of bed, etc. As the man, I’m all about the food. The breakfast was wonderful each of the 5 days we have stayed there. Ruthie’s stuffed french toast is as good as any I’ve had before. Makes me hungry just writing about it. Finally, this is the third bed and breakfast we have taken our children to. All have claimed to be family friendly but this is the only one so far that has truly felt welcoming. Ruthie made all of us feel at home. We will be back for what we hope to be an annual trip to Holiday World.
