Do not have an event here with more than 20 people. They are not properly staffed or organized enough to handle it. I had my engagement dinner here and there wasn’t enough food and they overcharged for the corkage fee. Terrible service and professionalism.

A touch or rustic charm and warm hospitality made for a special birthday holiday dinner. My boyfriend and I ordered the 5 course tasting with wine and it was absolutely delicious!

Beautiful location and wonderful food. Marcos fish tacos are the best I’ve ever had! A long wine list accompanies a great menu. The place really is lovely in the warmer months and has a dog friendly patio.

Alex the waiter goes beyond the call of action as if he is the mighty Zeus himself launching lightning bolts of smiles and glee to every customer. Every step he takes and every move he makes, trust me he will be watching you. As soon as your water is low, or your napkin hits the floor he is there by your side like a knight in shinning armor to fill up your glass or replace that napkin. If the owners know what is good for their business they will do everything in their powers to keep this most amazing of individuals.

We came during SCRW, remembering last time we were here the food was really great. Well, this time not so much. Certain foods were good; but the experience as a whole was awful and we’ll never be back. It was a Sunday night and I called about making a reservation, I was told it won’t be a problem. It wasn’t. There weren’t that many people there, 4 tables maybe. We ordered from the pre-fix menu because that’s why we were there. Things started off really tasty, grilled asparagus wrapped with cheese and proscuitto and grilled provolone cheese(can you say fondue-like?). Yum! Both of these together were really good. Entrees: I ordered the chicken saltimbocca. It was pretty good, fairly rich with the cheese and sauce. Huge piece of chicken. I can’t remember the sides, I want to say zucchini squash and polenta? It was okay-good. I took half of it home as it seemed like a lot of food. The leftovers were okay. BF got the gnocchi. He likes rich foods which I don’t particularly care for and this was no exception. I didn’t like it. Had small shrimps, olives and capers in a tomato sauce. He thought it was just okay. I was getting kinda upset around this time because the server never came by to check on us. I noticed the restaurant becoming empty and the last table behind us left. It wasn’t that late; but still where was the server? We would’ve liked another drink. The Dessert I know their tiramisu is awesome, so we really wanted to try something different. He got the chocolate soufflé roll. Now I notice it says ROLL. As in jelly.roll. There was no soufflé about it. I thought it was okay; but I was already bent. The coconut almond bombe should have been just that — the bomb; but it was a frozen hard mess to eat. I had one bite, barely because I couldn’t eat it. Too friggin frozen! Frozen as in couldn’t break it open with a knife. I just wanted to leave. So it sounds like the food was good. It was for the most part; but by the time the dessert came I was completely over this place and so ready to go. The server NEVER came by to see how anything was, to see if we wanted/needed anything, another drink? NOTHING! and the place was EMPTY!!! WTF?!? Besides the inside décor being totally inconsistent — get rid of the ugly copper pots that look like lopsided boobs! The outside looks nice and inviting during a summer day but I won’t be experiencing that. As we’re driving away, the Creamer was packed! We should have gone there for SCRW… next time.

This place may serve the best«dog-gone» breakfast I have ever had! The home fries are crunchy and diced in nice size pieces. Very tasty. Fresh fruit is seasonal and actually fresh. The orange juice is freshly squeezed. Whole wheat toast and jam to die for. And finally, eggs, perfect! Thank you, Oak Tree Ristaurante.

The first time we went it was very good and everything seemed to go our way so we went back with the kids. Not sure what happened when we came back but the food was absolutely terrible. My pasta was way overcooked. Service was OK but nothing special. Bummer because the area could use a good italian place. Will not go back because we don’t want to risk having another bad experience. Life’s too short to eat mediocre food.

Atmosphere is great. Awesome out door seating offers a bit of a retreat from the craziness of life. Prices are a little high, but food quality is great. Ive noticed a bit of a wait for orders, but nothing terrible. It’s a good environment for enjoying breakfast or lunch and spending some quality time with good company, not for a quick«eat and run».

My wife and I had dinner here for our anniversary, and it was quite lovely. The food was delish, and we tried things we have never before had. The servers were rather accommodating and friendly. Thanks for the fun time Oak Tree employees!

Terrible, terrible, terrible, but very nice setting. While Oak Tree is delightfully trapped in time, with its carved wood, naked, butterfly woman, retro stained glass, lush garden and perfectly preserved 70s décor, in all honestly, our experience here was a hot mess. We understand this business changed hands recently. Friends that brought us here didn’t recognize it as the same place they’ve enjoyed in the past. The menu was different and the service was awful. Thirty minutes to just get water brought to the table. Just water. Two other parties that arrived at the same time we did, gave up and walked out one by one, because after thirty minutes none of us had received coffee, silverware, water, or even napkins. The restaurant was only 1⁄3 full. The waitress let us know she was overwhelmed and blamed a coworker that arrived late, but most waitresses could have certainly handled getting coffee for a handful of tables in 30 minutes time. I went inside the restaurant to beg for coffee, because I thought at minimum if we had it we could hold out longer: i.e. if you give a customer coffee, they will trudge along compliantly. We ended up the only table to receive any although others had ordered it too, but this was because we literally got up to get it. When coffee arrived, it was placed on the table by itself with no cream or sugar or spoons. The server claimed they’d be right back with cream and sugar(our hearts sank) but when they didn’t come back, we got up to find our own accompaniments to drink the stuff, which we grabbed from other tables and & the server’s station. By this time we were laughing about the whole situation. Because humor helps. They finally circled back later to say they were out of milk, and half and half but they offered whipping cream for our coffee and at this point we just said«yes! yes!» and waited another several minutes for that. Our $ 4 a glass fresh squeezed orange juice arrived almost a full hour after we ordered it.(We had been told cheerfully it would take«a long time» to hand squeeze, and boy did it ever.) Unfortunately, it tasted like orange sweat. It felt crazy to be given a glass of half fresh squeezed juice, mixed with what could only be a generous amount of lukewarm water, and then to be told it was a glass of fresh OJ. It was completely unrecognizable as orange juice. They were out of bacon, seems odd to be out fairly early during a weekend brunch shift, but I only mention this in passing since we never ate here. After an hour and fifteen minutes past ordering, without an explanation from the business as to when our food would arrive, we decided to cut our losses. We apologized, paid for our beverages and left.

I wish I could give this place 5 stars, but unfortunately the service was so horrible that I just can’t. Everything took at least double or triple as long as it should have. The food was good and the ambience deserves 5 stars. We will be back and hope for a different waiter or better service next time. To top it off — we just got the bill — they added 18% gratuity to the bill. I don’t mind if the service is excellent but in this case it was below par.

Stopped here on our vacation. Monday night only 3 other tables being waited on. We sat in the patio which is absolutely beautiful. Our servers were attentive and spot on. I had the spicy seafood soup– more like a cioppino, chock full of mussels, clams, salmon, calamari, scallops, and octopus. Yum! My rack of lamb was melt-in-your-mouth with a nice chimichuri finish. A bit pricey but worth it in my opinion.

A little disappointing. We went there on a Friday night for a romantic dinner and we were the only couple there. The bread w roasted garlic was delicious. For dinner we decided on getting the chef’s special, for course selection from the kitchen of an appetizer, salad, pasta, entrée and dessert. We really had high hopes because it was $ 65 sounded like a good deal. What we got was less than inspired. appetizer was a nothing special bruschetta on what tasted like stale crostini. Not toasted, stale. The salad was so basic it tasted right out of a pre-packaged bag, some romaine and tomatoes, and that’s it. Dressing tasted like it had gone bad. The pasta dish however was the one and only savior of the evening with melt in your mouth gnocchi and & prawns in a saffron cream sauce. Personally I don’t feel that would have cost $ 65 otherwise. For the entrée, our server said we would most likely get steak, which is the norm. it seems like the chefs were trying to clean the kitchen and get home for the evening because what we received was some basic unflavored unseasoned chicken breast, which tasted very undercooked, in the exact same cream sauce as the pasta. The potatoes tasted like they were made that morning. Very disappointing. the dessert was tiramisu and it was basic but ok. Wouldn’t go back.

I have been here many times in the past 15 years of living in the SL Valley. I have not been in the last 5 years, because I heard not so good reviews. I recently, bought some tile from George the owner off off a virtual garage sale and talked to him in length about the restaurant and changes. I told him I would check them out again. Tonight, my partner and I wanted to go somewhere nice for Easter Dinner. I suggested we try them and called to ask about menu. We like the menu choices and decided to go. I am so happy we did! The space is so amazing and the food and wine was just as satisfying. We had a great time and felt the staff was very helpful and nice. The space makes you feel like you are in a home having a meal with a large family(all of the guests). We had a great time. I am looking forward to having breakfast there some weekend.

Great food, I love the outdoor space so our dogs can come eat breakfast with us… The little redwood grove chapel area is lovely for an after breakfast roll, all in all I really look forward to coming back to this place. We came for breakfast, but they let us order lunch… Which may have been why the service was a little slow :-) ;-) otherwise it would’ve been a five-star experience

Been a couple times now, once for dinner and once on Sunday for breakfast/brunch. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a lot of stained glass and a one of a kind handcarved«fairy» with stained glass wings in the double doors to the entrance. The food is solid and probably about right price wise for the area. I had a steak the first time with the gorgonzola sauce and it was excellent. The only real issue(s) I have with the place is that their kitchen is right there in view of everyone at the side of the restaurant. If this was a place like Original Joes or a diner, I wouldn’t have an issue with that, but this place presents itself as something special. They have a menu that is better fare and it’s mostly played up as kind of a romantic or venue of «fine dining». However, the kitchen is pretty loud in their conversations, the wait staff loudly announce, «order up» when they slap the written order on the counter and neither time did I get the impression that the staff had any wait experience except maybe coming from a Denny’s. I just believe it could be a lot better if they put some concerted effort into it.

Started off strong… but didn’t follow through. Our server was a very eager and professional young man. Very young. Very polite. We arrived as a family of three: father, mother, nearly four year old. My son was treated very well. We ordered a lemonade for him that came in a small, stemmed white wine glass. It was adorable, but really just added to my trying to eat out with a little kid stress. This restaurant didn’t scream«kid zone» though, so I wasn’t annoyed. The bread we started with was fantastic, even if it wasn’t warm. It would have been perfect had it been warmed a bit. They don’t carry a bottle of red wine under $ 62, and that is the one and only cheapest red by far. I didn’t feel I could ask about the wines considering our servers youth and likely inexperience(I’ve worked in the industry for… too long), so we decided to do beer instead of spending a bundle on a bottle we wouldn’t end up liking with our food. That half a measuring cup of lemonade also cost $ 3.50, which is sort of obscene, even if I’m not necessarily struggling financially. Maybe it included refills that we never asked for or needed? My son didn’t like it so we never found out. I liked it, though! We ordered two salads to start, the beet salad and the caprese. The caprese was possibly the best I’ve ever had. The beet salad was a huge disappointment to my mister who ordered it. It was a leafy greens and beet salad with chopped boiled eggs almost like a chef salad. He hated it, and the guy loves salad and beets. The egg was way too overpowering.(Eggs were listed on the menu description, in their defense.) I ordered the special, a seafood linguine in «white wine cream sauce.» I received my entrée, which was seafood and linguine but in a watery red sauce. Not a drop of cream that I could see. Not what I expected from the description, but good enough to eat. The sauce was pretty flavorless, but the seafood was good enough to save the dish. I wish they used more salt in their pasta water and used more mussels and clams that are open so that diners can actually eat them without a hammer. The mussels were huge and fresh and amazing though! The best I’ve had in ages! Our other entrée was the most expensive steak entrée… I believe it was a strip, but honestly it was so bad we forgot what it was listed as. It was tough, totally flavorless, and really needed a ton of fat trimmed from the edges. I expect steaks to have fat – we love eating steak… but this was to the point that we couldn’t believe we paid for the larger oz. serving because we cut that much fat off! It was slightly over cooked – he asked for medium rare, it was more like medium. The beer we had wasn’t so great, either. Honestly, I’d love to give this place another shot and see if things go differently. The place is beautiful, even if it doesn’t strike me as very Italian with the huge naked goddess/fairy door and chakras and sacred geometry stained glass window hangings. I might not even feel so bad about the disappointing food if it hasn’t been the most expensive meal I’ve had since moving out here. Atlanta is a very«foodie» city so my standards are pretty high, but I’m by no means a snob about it. Just keeping it real. This place has a lot of potential, but I definitely prefer Casa Nostra up highway 9… food is about the same price but the atmosphere is much less uptight and the food is spot on. Their wine selection is a lot more varied in price and delicious. Maybe I caught them on an off day here? I want the Italian restaurant right by where I live to be the best one!!! I’ll update if we try it again. Oh, and make sure you have PLENTY of time to wait on your food. It wasn’t busy in there(two other tables) yet we waited forever for our food!

Dinner was marginal at best. New York steak had way too much fat & lacked the love. The spinach sauté was decent. Have eaten here many times & each time it’s less delicious.
