I stopped in here to get a diagnostic test run on my car that all auto parts stores offer for free. I was met by a clerk who shut me down right away, stating that they only do the test if the check engine light is on, not the service engine soon light. It’s basically the same thing and the same tool is used to scan for the code, so I found this to be unfriendly and also lazy. There were just a couple customers in the store, and no one else was at the counter for help. I’ll stick with other stores for parts and tests.

Everyone is always so helpful and knowledgeable. They always have the parts and supplies I need. The prices are very competitive.

This is not a place I like to take my business. The staff is unwilling and unfriendly. They don’t seem to know what their inventory holds.
I went in after my brakes failed and left me stranded. When I explained the situation it took them 20 Mims just to find the part in their system then it was out of stock, slightly expensive and they didn’t check other stores for us. We ordered the part (we were desperate) which took three days so we were stuck! When the three days were up I went in and it turned out the part they ordered was the wrong one and they had the right one in stock the whole time for a much lower price.
The only silver lining was they ended up price matching auto zone price. When we finally got the part on it leaked! We then had to take it back and exchange it which took forever.

I filed a formal complaint regarding sexual harassment by Zach a clerk in this store.
He was extremely disrespectful, ridiculed me in front of other clerks, and the manager about my name. He referenced my name as something that reminded him of an obscene movie. I have been a customer for years, and I find this treatment unexpected and unacceptable.

Shopping here is a total crapshoot — you might get the help and parts you need with a minimum of fuss, or you might not.
Early this year, I went in, grabbed what I needed and then spent a good 20 minutes in line. There were three people in O’Reilly green shirts around, but only one was helping customers that day, apparently.
A few weeks ago, I ordered a turn signal arm for my old Chevy. After explaining several times to the counter person what I needed (you know, the lever you use to activate your TURN SIGNALS) he got the part ordered. That only took him 15 minutes. It was supposed to come in the next day, but it didn’t. I eventually got it, but not without an extra trip to the store.
Last time I was in, one of the counter people decided it would be best to belittle my purchase and suggest something else instead, otherwise I would be, in his words, «wasting my money». I didn’t know that O’Reilly employees were there to give me financial advice, but his words of warning gave me another idea — I’ll shop somewhere else from now on.
Honestly, with the availability of everything online just a click away at Jeg’s or Summit, I don’t know why I bother with brick and mortar stores like these, staffed with people like that.

Went into their store and received excellent service from Omar. He went above the average customer service experience. Will go back next time I need anything auto related.

Picked up a few air freshers and an oil filter for future use. Took a look at their batteries too. Red and Yellow Top Optimas. Sweet.

Went here to get an oxygen sensor to put in my car. Was told that the specific one for my car is not in-​stock and would take a while to order. The guy helping me said I would buy a universal one. Initially he said he did NOT recommend getting the universal one, but then once he realized the one for my car was not in stock, he said the universal one would be fine (I guess this should have been a red flag). I tried to ask questions about why it wouldn’t be recommended but he assured me it would be fine. I bought it, brought it home, and realized it was a kit requiring me to use wire cutters to cut off the old O2 sensor connection and attach it to the new one. I would also need something to strip the wire and get down to the bare wires to be able to do that. Needless to say it went back in the box, returned to the store unused, and I bought one online. Disappointed in the service and probably won’t return.

Had to swing in for a couple of small items for my motorcycle. Two oil drain bolts and some copper thread stuff.
Upon walking in, I heard a «hello» from somewhere in the store. There were three employees working and about five customers either standing at one of the computers or looking at stuff in the aisles. The person who shouted hello didn’t have anyone in front of her, so I sorta walked up to her, though I wasn’t sure if she was helping anyone. She asked if I needed something, so I went up and told her I needed four oil drain plugs and that I had a part number. She gave me a weird look, but typed in the part number, walked out to one of the aisles and came back with two of them and told me she only had four and that she could find out if anyone else nearby needed them. I passed since I knew the O’Reillys next to my work had them in stock. She asked if I needed anything else. I said I needed some copper crush washers to go with them, so we both walked back over to those. She grabbed some of the wrong size first, but I quickly saw the right ones and got the last two of those.
We walked back to the counter, added them in and then she asked me if I needed any oil, lol. Nope. She rang me up, ran my card and then said the computer froze, but she wasn’t sure if it ran. So the manager had to come over, go through a couple of things, restart the computer and then move to another computer. Kind of annoying for a $ 17 purchase, but whatever, technology, what can you do.
All in all it was an okay experience. The lady helping me didn’t seem overly happy, but I didn’t feel like I was taking up her time either. Just an average employee I suppose. I prefer autozone, but they didn’t have these parts and being there is no autozone in downtown puyallup, it makes it a quick and easy stop for the random parts I might need.
PS I’m doing some mods on my motorcycle and the oil drain bolts are the perfect bolt for this, otherwise it’s a $ 40 purchase online.

Reading over the other reviews, it seems I had a much different experience. On my drive to work, I discovered my driver’s headlight had gone out, and I needed a replacement ASAP. I came in a soon as they opened since it’s right across the freeway from my office.
The man who helped me, his name escapes me at the moment, was really helpful, and answered all my questions about what replacement lights would be the best fit for my SUV. I went with his recommendation, and not only was his choice a HUGE upgrade over the factory lights I currently had in the car, he even installed them for me. I know most places will put the lights in for you, but had to move a bunch of stuff around in my engine bay to get to the headlight assembly. Not to mention it was also about 40 degrees and raining. Did I hear even a single complaint? Nope. A great experience all around for this guy.

Just your average auto parts store. Prices aren’t good or buy — serves the need. Staff are either very helpful or they ignore you (good luck).

Came in this morning to get a replacement for my car’s break lights. The lady who worked at the front desk was not what I would classified as a friendly person. She was rude, short tempered and acted as though she was doing me a favor. Anyway, I told her what I needed and watched her disappeared behind the counter for a good five minutes only to come back and told me that she didn’t have it. I then asked her if they were out and here comes the great part, she told me she didn’t know and if they had it, she couldn’t find it. Well, if you don’t want my money, I’ll take it somewhere else. Here is a note to the company, make sure whoever you hire to work the front desk has enough common sense and intelligence so people won’t be walking out. I went down the road to Auto Zone, found what I needed and the guy offered to replace the light bulb for me. Guess where Im going to spend my money now, it’s sure as hell won’t be at O’Reilly!
