Macy’s

Great place if you need to stop by to return or pick up an order. But I would rather shop at Tacoma or Westfield Mall for a larger variety of selections. Convenient if you’re in the area to shop for other things as well.

I can’t believe I haven’t written a review for this Macy’s yet. It’s at the Commons Mall.
I like this Macy’s because it’s easy to get to, right off of I-​5. The layout makes it easy to find the departments, and it’s clean whenever I’m in here. Clothes are not thrown around and racks are well kept.
This is an older store as the ladies restroom only has three stalls and some departments have smaller selections.
Whenever I shop here, either for clothes or cosmetics, the employees are friendly and happy to help me find something. I was here recently to get some make-​up and the gal working at Elizabeth Arden was great. Also got the free gift with purchase going on now.
It’s hit or miss to find clothes that I like for work and church at Macy’s, but when I find things I like, they are good quality and last for years. I love the sales.
I like getting the texts from Macy’s of the current sales going on.
There’s a parking lot on the south side entrance where there is always parking and makes getting in and out of Macy’s fast.

I went in to find a good moisturizer and foundation. In the winter my skin gets very dry and flakey and the Lancome products I was using just are not working for me. I started at Elizabeth Arden and I didnt like the prices. So outrageously priced and the associate there just wasnt as friendly as I had hoped to experience. Afterwards I went to the Clinque counter and got greeted by a wonderful lady. She was so sweet and didnt try to pressure me into buying a bunch of stuff that I wasnt seeking. She sat me down and told me about a moisturizer and put some on my face which was amazing! The foundation she showed me next was also just wondeful. I left with both products and a smile. Loved it and will return!

Compared to the Macys in Southcenter where I usually go, this one is underwhelming, mainly due to the lack of proper customer service. On the few occasions that I’ve been here, the place seemed to have more staff than customers, yet no salesperson has offered me to help find anything or even acknowledged me with a ‘hello’. What’s worse is the lack of integrity that some of their staff seem to have. During one of my visits the cashier that rang me up tried to deceive me into signing up for Macy’s card. Even though I told her I already had one, she insisted that requesting DOB is «now a part of their standard procedure». I guess she was determined to get her bonus by any means possible. During the same visit, a lady at the makeup counter tried to sell me an already open bottle on foundation that may have been used as a tester. The management at this location needs to do a better job hiring and supervising their staff. For now I am not comfortable going back to this place.

I didn’t spend a ton of time in this store because I knew what I came in for and went straight for it. With that being said, This Macy’s does seem to be a little dated compared to others.
It is also pretty messy. I went upstairs to the housewares department to get the sheets I came in for. The escalator is sketchy and sounds like it could break at any moment.
There was a line at the register with some complicated purchases, no fault of the cashiers, it was completly the customers.
The cashier who helped me was super nice and even found me another coupon to make it a better deal. I was in and out fairly quickly.

I went to this Macy’s tonight and it was awful. I really wish I went to South Center and waited in traffic then go this store. They had 2 people ringing up 1 person and socializing while I stood there holding all this stuff. They didn’t even care. Then I asked if I could use a coupon and they instantly declined me, they didn’t even try. The store was very messy too in the Women’s section. I don’t plan on returning to this store unless something changes.

I called this store seeking help in finding a particular Michael Kors handbag for my fiancée which I had seen at another local Macy’s but I wanted to check if a closer store had it. Very simple request for the female in the handbag department as I had the model name and UPC code for her to research. She was very short tempered and said that she couldn’t even find what I was looking for as that model I had described didn’t exist. I explained to her that I had seen the particular bag at another Macy’s. To my surprise she said, «Well maybe you should go there.» Incredible… This store probably loses a lot of money because of poor customer service skills.

I used to hate coming to this Macy’s, it was not a friendly environment and I could never seem to get any help. Unfortunately (or at least I though at the time) I had to go back here out of convenience… It’s less then five minutes away from my house. However, I was pleasantly surprised the last two times I have gone back and felt I should comment on the service. The people are friendly and the store is neatly organized and easy to navigate. With the holidays coming up, I am sure I will find my self here again. I wish I could remember the name of the two girls who have helped the last two times but I just can’t think of them. They both work in the men’s department and are awesome! Thanks for the help.

Seriously the worst macys. I don’t know how they stay in business. Went to the baby section and got no help. Just salespeople talking amongst themselves. Could not get a gift box anywhere. Also just called and was placed on hold for 15min and when someone finally picked up, they hung up on me. Seriously? Never happens at nordstrom.

Upping 1 Star — it seems that they recently remodeled and the store doesn’t look so outdated anymore. Also, I got a screaming deal on a great green sweater (for St Patrick’s Day) — it was originally $ 90 and after all discounts and coupons it was less than $ 5!!! Maybe I will start shopping here again!

The only reason I used to shop here is because I was offered the Macy’s card that they keep pushing on everyone. Otherwise I wouldn’t ever buy clothes here because they are expensive and the selections are not great. (half the items are see through! it’s like one person chose all the merchandise according to her own tastes.)
The reason I will never shop here again is this. I only had my Macy’s card for two months before I came in and the girl who rung me up put me on the phone to «check my id.» She told me nothing else. The person on the phone was from the collections agency, and she told me my balance was in collections because my monthly payment was one day late. This is preposterous! What’s worse is she spoke as if I was the crazy one, not her. «You only made one payment on your balance,» she said. I had to explain to her that the card was only open for two months. The people who work for this company and this collections agency are self-​entitled morons and will stand for a F-​ed up corporation. I have no respect for that.

The song You Give Love A Bad Name comes to mind when I think of this particular Macy’s store. There is no love here. Lacking good customer service-​if you get any at all. Lacks variety and selection of inventory. Limited brands-​what you will find here are busy looking and flashy style clothing. The store itself feels old and dirty. This Macy’s does not represent the Macy’s name well at all! It also doesn’t seem to be in the greatest location-​the mall alone speaks for itself.

No Polo department = fail. I’m not going to relegate them to one star status though. It isn’t there fault they are in the middle of the ghetto of Federal Way. A Polo department here would be a waste of money and space since most of the people I’ve seen in and around this area prefer Sean John and Marc Ecko.

The prices here were ok, not favorable, but I was willing to pay more for good clothes.
When I asked someone on the floor to help me, I don’t mind being pointed in the right direction, but it would be nice if they would offer to call someone to help me if needed.
The cashier was not too friendly, but nice enough to help me find what I was looking for. When I handed her my money, she layed out out, and very slowly counted the money, and turned it facing the way that she wanted it to face right there on the counter; she counted out loud, and it was just odd the way she did it, and the tone of her voice was almost like she thought that I didn’t hand her enough money or something. She just really put me off, she didn’t act like she wanted to be there: OH, and she kept pushing the Macy’s credit card on me, even after I told her that I had one once before, and I didn’t want one anymore. I said no several times, and started to get frusterated when she continued to tell me how much more it would save me. No means no, don’t push and push, there is a way to ask, and she did not get it.
I would go there over many of the other stores in that mall, so I will go back, but I will not be happy if they push their card on me anymore, it’s ok to ask, but it’s not ok to push…

this place is small once you have been in the one in Seattle .
I went in to pay on my card bill and the woman that helped me acted like she did not want to even be there .
to me some of the areas look like they need a up dated look to the décor .
I do like some of the clothing they have .
this is even a place were if you need a job you should apply at this way you donthave to sit a home all the time

Just your average retail store. Sales every weekend which is good in this economy.

I love Macy’s because the always have sales and name-​brand items. And if you have a Macy’s card then you get additional coupons in the mail therefore you get more savings. But I did have a bad experience with their Alterations once and wouldnt go back to get pants altered but there’s always a good deal at all locations.

The associates are nice. That is really all they have going for them. This is the new Jc Penny. I’m serious.
Nothing is organized, things are a mess, and rarely will you find something of nice quality here anymore. They used to carry really nice jeans and shoes, but not I go to Nordstrom because they have more and they also return things without giving you a bad time.
The associates at Nordstrom do so much more for you as well. I rarely go into this Macy’s unless I’m with someone, like my mom, in which case I bring a book and find a corner to sit in…

TIME!!! I need MORE time!!! and Macy’s provided it for me today!

This morning I called and requested the Clinque Counter. I obtained an very helpful representative that gave me the total price of items I was sending cash with my daughter to secure! (Teenagers!!! ALWAYS in your wallet)
One — I didn’t expect to get the total with tax included.
Two– My daughter came home with a gift with purchase (she is THRILLED)
Three-​I did NOT have to go!!! WOW!!! One thing checked off my list of things to do! I was PLEASED!!!
