I love all their jjim bang and Mandoos! The red bean bun is my favorite. I wish it was close by, because I’d be going everyday! The cold noodles are good! My favorite is the cold noodle with broth. I like the spicy cold noodles, but It may be too spicy for some.

Honestly their menu is not great for vegetarians or vegan but getting these options are possible with 2 items: the purple red bean bun $ 2.50, and the bibing gooksu= spicy sesame noodles~$ 8ASK for it w/o meat! I like how their payment is really easy with the online register, and the presentation of the food is very clean and precise as well. The food is pretty decent but I don’t think I was blown away, I think they could have done more flavor in the bibing gooksu, it just had the spice and some sesame/sweet flavor. Also the red bean bun tasted like any other store bought brand. RECOMMEND: I was kinda full with just one bun/mandoo and so the portions are good if you want to share a main entrée and get your own individual bun!

This is my favorite Korean/general restaurant in Washington state! I’ve been here around 3 times and fell in LOVE the first time I went. The Mandu kook is the best on the menu and I’ve tried other wang mandus and naeungmyuns but that is my favorite. The soup is made fresh as well as the mandus are made there! It taste very homemade and I enjoy it more than other mandu restaurants in LA that I’ve tried. Not only is the food awesome, but the customer service is great. Even though the owner has changed, everyone was and is always so nice and willing to give you anything you want. Their banchans like the moochae and the kimchi are extremely delicious! The price is average and definitely worth a trip from Olympia~

This place is my favorite restaurant in federal way. The spicy cold noodle is even better than the those i ate back in Korea. If u order extra noodles, they dont give just ‘extra’. They give u twice as much, which is awesome. The dumplings are the best dumplings ever. Kimchee dumpling goes well with the cold noodle soup and the meat dumpling with the spicy cold noodle. The meat broth they give for free as an appetizer is so on point as well. This place deserves more than 5 stars. Super cheap as well. 3 of us ate for 25 dollars. Dumplings are 2.50 each and they are huge. One dumpling and a noodle dish will fill u up.

I think this is the only place to go for wang mandu around. As for the naengmyun… Meh. I got two mandu of each kind they have. My fave was the kimchi one. It was a lot, I ended up eating it for the whole day. Next time I think I’ll just opt for the kimchi one though. Server and the cashier were nice too.

Service was great and fast. Place is cozy and clean. Menu is simple and food was good. Kim chi a little too ripe but it goes well w/soup. I had the seafood noodle soup and it was OK. Lots of clams. couple of shrimps a octopus pieces. I liked the dumpling soup. It was flavorful. I also enjoyed all 3 dumplings.

Best place for Mandoo(Korean dumpling). My favor is kimchi Mandoo and seafood noodle soup(shrimp, claims, and octopus). Kimchi Mandoo cost about $ 3.50 per piece but it’s filled with pork, clear noodles, kimchi and it has wonderful flavor. They also serve kimchi side dish and complimentary hot soup(in the cup) if you dine in. I can’t tell what’s inside of the soup, but I can taste the peppercorn which make it super delicious. The owners are polite and friendly. Their heater was not working on that day, the husband(handsome old gentleman) apologized to us, and went to H Mart to get a brand new potable heater fan. Their food is delicious, I want to try their cold noodle sometime in the summer!

I’d give it a 5 star if they had some vegan options, but they don’t! That being said, my family absolutely LOVED the mandoo here. We ordered the pork and kimchi mandoo, and they didn’t last long. My son couldn’t stop saying how good they were as he inhaled them. You can see they are freshly made as you see stacks and stacks of them in the steam racks. They remind of some of the street vendors in Korea, which is something I miss when I’m stateside. Besides the mandoo they do offer some noodle dishes, which I will have to try next time. Service is fast, and sometimes they do run out of certain items, so you may have to wait for them to cook… the buns usually take about 12 – 15 mins, but it’s worth the wait! Small menu, but they seem to do things right here. I did ask if they were considering adding some veggie only mandoos, and they said they’re considering it, since they are getting more requests for them… so there’s hope people! BTW, it’s sort of hard to find this place because the signage is all in Korean, so be thankful for your fellow Unilocalers who posted pics of the outside. :)

Nothing fancy but you can get really tasty Korean style big dumplings at affordable price($ 2 per piece). Restaurant is clean and the service is good. Their mul naengmyun(cold noodle soup) was a little too sweet for us but other than that we were very satisfied.

My girlfriend told me about this place so I dragged my hubby here to pick up some mandoo. I wanted to order both the pork mandoo and the kimchee mandoo but they were out of the kimchee mandoo so that was a bummer. It was $ 2 for one mandoo so we grabbed 12. The reason why they get 3 stars is because I don’t think they steamed the mandoo long enough. The onions were still a bit on the raw side and the bread was a little raw in some places. To their credit, they did shove the mandoo full with their stuffing but I just wish it was more cooked. Also, they charge 10 cents per take out soy sauce. I may give them another shot if I’m in the area but I think I want to try the other dumpling place in Federal Way first.

Their dumpling is huge, cheap, and quick. I came in here expecting pretty decent size dumpling, to my surprise it was almost bigger than my hand. The customer service is decent and the dumpling were decent, but it’s not something I wake up one day feeling like I’m craving it. The pork dumpling was pretty okay. The kimchi dumpling taste the same as the pork dumpling except it was spicy. However for 2 dollars that’s a pretty good deal. For 2 dollars you can get a huge steaming hot dumpling within seconds. But the way it tastes is just average.

I mandu. Do you mandu? If you don’t you are missing something amazing. Having lived in Korea for many years I used to eat mandu like this a lot and have missed it. The mandu here is large and filling. The kimchi mandu is my favorite and it is even good with just a few drops of the soy they have. Don’t put too much on though! The pork is good as well but I prefer the kimchi. You go in, order and can eat in the dinning area on the left or take it out. The only thing missing is some danmuji yellow pickled radish on the side. Otherwise it is perfection!

Tried this place with some family the other day — 1pm on Saturday, no wait to be seated. Looked like a lot of people were just taking dumplings to-go though there are places to sit inside. — Disappointed by the naengmyun(cold noodles priced ~$ 10), which was served in large portions with very thin noodles(I think my cousin said they’re made in-house). The soup was very sweet, not to my taste. 2/5, I wouldn’t come back for the naengmyun. Feel like they’re on the overpriced side. If you do try the noodles, make sure to separate them fast as they start clumping together if left alone for too long. — My overall rating is for the mandoo(dumplings at $ 2 each), which are a different story. First of all, they’re huge — 2 or 3 of these would have been enough to make me full. My mom said my grandparents would like them, that’s how authentic they tasted. Apparently they’re similar to what you got in Korean restaurants back in the 70s. 5⁄5. Flavorful with fluffy dough. The dumplings are handmade(you can watch the the employees rolling the dough through a window by the cash register). I highly recommend the kimchi flavor! If you’re looking to try everything, I’d recommend sharing a naengmyun bowl with a few servings of dumpling. Service is great, the guys and gal were very friendly and responsive. Would be more of a regular to get dumplings to-go if not for the long commute.

Hours: 11am for to-go mandoo, 11:30 for the restaurant section for nengmyun. Closed by 8pm weekdays, 9pm, weekends. Closed on Tues. Got there just after 11 on a Friday. You can pick up mandoo’s right away so we ate some as appetizer while we waited for the dining section to open. My fave was the kimchee/pork dumpling. Sufficiently spicy and flavorful. Love the dough. I’d give these 4.5. They seated us by 11:15 and got our mul-nengmyun and bibim-nengmyun. I was excited for them because I heard they make their own noodles. The noodles were chewy, but strangely not very smooth. Just not the right consistency. Both nengmyun’s were also too sweet. Giving these 2.5. Would go back for the mandoo, but Somunanjib just down the street has better bibim-nengmyun.

The restaurant is pretty small. There is a to-go ordering station for ordering their giant dumplings. It also has a small dining area where you can order noodles, dumpling soup, and their giant dumplings. The dumplings come in 3 flavors, pork, spicy kimchee, and red bean. I came here with my wife, after hearing about this place all weekend from multiple people. She ordered the naengmyun and got a pork and kimchee mandoo to-go. I had the spicy naengmyun and the pork and red bean mandoo. My wife really enjoyed her noodles, but we both agreed that, for naengmyun, the $ 9.99 price point is pretty overpriced. I would definitely try the dumpling soup next time though. The giant dumplings(the size of my fist) on the other hand seemed appropriately priced. The pork dumpling was very delicious. They have a slightly spiced soy sauce in the dining area that gives the dumplings so much flavor. I saved my red bean pastry for dessert, as it is a sweeter bun. When I bit into the bun I had a mixed feeling of it. First impression was, the bread is soft and chewy and very good. Second impression was, there is an extremely overwhelming amount of red bean per bite. It would honestly have been a lot better had there been more bread each bite and slightly less red bean. I don’t think i’d get the red bean again. Overall I felt I was slightly disappointed, given the hype of this place. I like the place, and I will definitely be back. so maybe when I give it another go I can get a more averaged-out feel for the place and not go based off first impressions. For now, the place had its flaws and they weren’t ones I had to think about. They came to mind almost immediately, which isn’t something that I can just overlook.

This place was BOMB! I finally was able to go with a few friends and luckily I waited to go with them since no one there spoke English lol. The menu is pretty limited to like 7 – 8 items and I got four of them(spicy mixed noodle, pork dumpling, kimchi pork dumpling and the red bean dumpling). Good thing I was sharing with my girlfriend because it was a lot of food. The dumplings were the size of your fist and are packed with a lot of stuff. I’m not a huge fan of onions, but the stuffing inside the pork dumpling was amazing even with all the onions! The kimchi one was good with a good amount of spice to it and the red bean was just ok IMO. But the star of the show was the spicy cold noodles. I’ve never had Korean cold noodles before and this was soooo goood! The noodles were different from what I’m familiar with. They were a bit chewy/al dente but was good. I like spice and this thing was spicy(just wait for it, it creeps up after your mouth warms up lol). Overall, the food was amazing and cheap, but remember to bring someone that knows Korean or you won’t get much help. Even the cashier told me the total in Korean lol

The place is pretty small – and the food took a while(because they made it fresh!). It’s part self service for water and when you arrive they give you this broth to drink. I didn’t drink it because it probably has meat bone marrow lol Anyways the only downside is they don’t speak English. And they don’t even make an effort to speak English. If they’re going to have a business in America at least try to learn the basics or try to communicate instead of ignoring it. Kind of rude– the cashier clearly knew my friends weren’t Korean yet she spoke to him in Korean and only Korean when he didn’t understand what she was saying so I translated but seriously, pretty rude and ignorant. The food was amazing. We ordered pretty much everything on the menu. My friends ordered both the kimchi pork dumpling and red bean and regular pork dumpling and they said it was amazing(I don’t eat meat so I wouldn’t know). I ordered the red sweet bean dumpling(amazing) and it was heavy. They do not shy away with sharing their ingredients. I mean it was packed with red bean inside. I also ordered bibim nangmyeon which is a cold Korean noodle dish that’s pretty spicy. It was SO good! But pretty spicy. I’m not sure if they added extra spice on mine because they knew I was Korean but I have this stomach issue where I can’t consume too much/too harsh acidic food(like spicy food) so my stomach was in pain later on but God it was amazing. I highly recommend this place but please bring a fluent Korean speaker because I don’t think they’ll ever make an effort to learn English. And because of that reason I don’t think this place will expand in the business world. But food is good!

This place took over the former space of one of my favorite restaurants, Soondae Nara. Luckily, this new place is awesome and will definitely keep me coming back. Below is a guide to non-Koreans because this place is great and I wouldn’t want anyone to be deterred by the long and confusing Korean name. Guide for the non-Koreans: 1) This place specializes in Korean dumplings(huge ones, like hom bao-sized) with 3 fillings: pork/veggie, pork/veggie/kimchi, and red bean. They are $ 2 each, very filling. I’m not a fan of red bean so I didn’t try it, but my parents did and they both enjoyed it. The bun/skin on both of the pork and kimchi dumplings was very moist and soft, and the filling was meaty and well balanced in flavor. 2) This place also specializes in naeng myun, which is a very popular cold starch noodle dish, available in two flavors: normal and spicy. As a spice enthusiast, the spice is something that does warrant a warning – it slowly creeps up on you! The naeng myun was delicious and the noodles were very finely cut, but I wouldn’t say it was the best I’ve ever had. However, they are definitely worth trying and complement the dumplings well. The real stars of the show here are the dumplings! Get at least one of each and chow down.

Korean dumplings you say? Oh yes please! As soon as I heard there was a new dumpling house in town, I did not hesitate to check it out. The name could have been a little less confusing and more American friendly, but lucky for us there is a giant sign that says dumpling. The dumplings are on the larger size and they’re packed with meaty goodness. The kimchi dumpling is the best in my opinion if you can handle a little bit of spice. They also serve a few other food items like nangmyun(cold noodle soup), which I was too full to check out. But I will definitely be back for that soon! All in all, a great little addition to the Federal Way area. If you’re a Mandu lover like myself, I would def check out. If you’re unfamiliar with Korean dumplings, I would get a little daring and check out too!
