Sooo good! I’m not a fan of barbeque in general but I thought, when in North Carolina I should try it. I had the barbecue chicken and was not disappointed. It fell right off the bone. Collards were on point with some creamed potatoes and gravy. All for their Tuesday special price of 6.99! Can’t beat it. The hush puppies come free with your meal for the table and when they give you sweet tea they give you a whole pitcher! My only downside is the location looks sketchy on the outside, but so comfy on the inside.

Great place to get breakfast or lunch. Food is priced right. The only bad thing is its location. They have home cooking. I love the stew beef and rice.

I have eaten at this restaurant for lunch not to long ago and found it to be ordinary. This is a small local Owned establishment. The food was plain. But what really got to me at this restaurant was all of the decorations sitting around in the window seals. Everything was coated in dust and if you look closely between the display of knick knacks there were dead flies. That cured my appetite right then an there. I have not returned to that establishment since.

Great food and really friendly service. This is a family place with great homemade food! North Carolina chopped pork, greens, slaw, hush puppies and the smoked sausage were all great. It does look questionable from the outside and inside it’s a little kitschy, so what? That’s what makes it even better! Once you’re seated, they leave pitchers of tea and water on the table and check in to see how everything is… Excellent, give them a try!

Lucky to have found this place on the way back from the beach. Yes it seemed a little sketchy at first, but once you walk in, you will be showered with southern hospitality. Lunch platter was an excellent deal and everything tasted delicious. Try the hotdog«all the way,» served on perfectly toasted buns with chili and potato salad toppings. Home made cakes were awesome as well!

Tried to eat here on a Friday night at 6:30. Hours posted showed open, place was closed and locked. What a shame– we really wanted to try this place after reading some of the reviews.

Buddy’s is the kind of family-owned restaurant I love to find. So it’s just down the road from the Cumberland County pokey, which doesn’t make for the most scenic location. But I’m pretty sure that this place has a strong following with local workers, and I can see why. Service was top-notch. My food was brought quickly(but not too quickly). The family-secret BBQ sauce was mighty tasty. And the homemade pecan pie was a great way to end the meal. Cheap and cheerful – my kind of place!

Classic BBQ with a extra serving of southern hospitality! The BBQ sandwich has the right amount of sour and spice, and very moist, even though they weren’t busy when I was there(3pm thur). This place is a fresh departure from large chains.

Fine dining this is not. And they don’t want to be. Some times all you need is someone to take your order that will call you Suga, a never ending supply of the sweetest tea you can drink, and a so much food you waddle back to your car. Hush puppies, BBQ, three sides, sweet tea for just $ 7. It’s worth jumping off the highway to grab some lunch.

Great Carolina BBQ. Great prices. BBQ and fried chicken were delicious. We were traveling from Myrtle Beach back to the DC area and this was very convient and quick to find off of I-95. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for an authentic North Carolina BBQ experience!

Came here with a co-worker before a meeting… And I hate to be rude, but I was NOT impressed. PROS: Price was amazingly cheap, service was decent(when she wasn’t busy waiting every table in the place herself), and the home style of it was neat. CONS: Flavor was LACKING, food wasn’t prepped well, only 1 server, clientele was sketchy at best(bars on the window, not a good sign). For a casual lunch with friends or co-workers, and your not local, stick with a Chilies or Apple-bees…

Fantastic southern, family owned, BBQ joint! If you are looking for authentic BBQ, this is the place to go. The home made desserts are to die for. Stopped in on my way from VA to FL, 100% the 10 min detour off 95. Also dont let the exterior(bars on the window) stop you from trying this amazing BBQ!

Good, satisfying honest meal traveling down the I 95. Huge homemade portions for a price cheaper than what you’d spend on fast food. And good ol, refreshing Southern hospitality. Welcome to the South.

The staff is sooo friendly and polite. We were seated immediately and welcomed with a pitcher of water and a pitcher of sweat tea. I had the NC style pulled pork bbq. My friend has the chicken bbq. Both were quite juicy and full of flavor. Hush puppy galore, even if I’m not sure what they are. The sides were plentiful and the food was a real bargain. Located just at the northern exit of Fayetteville.

We were passing through and looking for a quick down home BBQ spot, the service was great, food was good, the sweet tea was refreshing. After finishing our plates full of food, we had to pass on the home-made desserts. It was a quick jump off of 95, easy to find and we were back on the road in no time.

We found this little gem today looking for some BBQ in Fayetteville. We certainly struck gold in this mine! Even though their hours state that they close at 2 on Sat, we came in at 1:45 and they told us to have a seat. The adults all had the Sat, BBQ plate special which included three(3) sides! The BBQ was vinegary and if you wanted even more there is the special sauce that was created by the original owner in 1945 and is made to this day by his only remaining child. The restaurant is kitschy and will take you back in time, but it is all in a good way and the menu looks awesome!

Were you looking for a Family-owned Southern restaurant experience whilst simultaneously discovering the wonder that is North Carolina BBQ? I invite you to explore Buddy’s BBQ. It looks like a cardboard box with a sign on the outside, and the parking lot is a gravel. Don’t let that intimidate you. This place offers up more than BBQ with some daily specials and amazing sweet tea and for very cheap. I am absolutely shocked no one on Fayetteville Unilocal has written about this place yet, so I will remember to take some pictures next time to make this entry a bit more inviting. It’s too bad I discovered this as I was ending my tour of duty in North Carolina.
