Sumo Grill & Sushi

As someone from Orange County, CA, I can say that this is by far the best sushi place in town. If you’re looking for sushi then look no further.

I have been here a few times before because my girlfriend likes the noodles. I have had a few things including the beef with broccoli and tonight the hibachi steak (two of my old standbys). I have never once been impressed, the food is bland. With places like mikasa and tomo offering better food at a similar price there is no reason for me to ever waste another penny here.

Being from San Diego, I was very disappointed by this place. Altjough, for Farmington, I guess it’s ok. For me though, the broth was too watery and it was over priced.

Best sushi in town! He lobo roll is amazing and the seaweed salad was my fav! My new go to for sushi!

Heard good things about this place so had to check it out… On first impressions… it’s not very impressive. Very small space and strange place for a restaurant. Menu was a bit confusing. The sushi menu had little to no information. Our waitress was very nice but seemed inexperienced. We ordered the baked muscles as an appetizer and they were out of this world amazing! You must give them a try. My husband ordered the honey smoked salmon and I ordered some sushi I’ve never tried before… I can’t remember the name but it was a sampler. My husbands salmon came and I tried a bite, wow! So good! My sushi came later and it was a sample of bluefin tuna, white tuna, Salmon, red snapper and one other I did not recognize… All of it tasted very fresh and melt in your mouth good. This food is definitely five star! The prices are reasonable for sushi restaurant. The only negative we had was the environment and the space… We will be back:)

I had eaten here right after they opened and was impressed with the food quality. I’m back in town, abd was pleased to find they have kept up their standards. Generous portions of fish on the nigiri, fresh vegis and fish. They have since added Phở to the menu and it got 2 thumbs up from my eating companion. Nice beefy broth, tender beef, fresh crisp sprouts. Also were very accommodating to my allergies. Great service!

Definitely the best sushi in the Farmington area. Service was good. Good was excellent. Peaceful atmosphere.

I know the sushi place and all, but everyone needs to know they have PHO! I s*** you not. There is no phở around here until Albuquerque which is 3 hours away period and let me say, the phở is pretty taste. And they only have the beef phở which I feel makes them legit. I had the special combination which was delicious. Their sushi is also pretty good. We had their bento box which was fine. And the waiter, while little weird, was really friendly, helpful, and very prompt. I will definitely back to eat as much phở as I can. I will also bring all my friends from Farmington who have never had phở in their life. I feel like that’s saying a lot for a place, that I’m willing to let someone’s first experience be with them. overall 5 stars! weighted for the fact that they are the only phở place in the Four Corners area. Win!

Love this place, really good food, and nice staff. Heads up they close at 5 on Sundays… which shows 8pm on Unilocal and a few different places.

Tried it for the first time tonight and thought the food was really great and at a great price. The sushi was very good and had a nice local flavor with green chili tempura and siracha sauce. The box combination was a terrific deal at $ 10 which included tempura vegetables, rice, pot sticker and teriyaki chicken with soup. The wife had the scallops and loved the hibachi vegetables.

What an absolutely wonderful dining experience! The staff is wonderful and the sushi chefs are exceptional! This is a must try! We had the Sumo Special! It was beautifully prepared and more food than we had expected

Amazing food! Had a brief moment when we thought we were back in Orlando having freshly prepared sushi!
We had the Super Dragon Roll that had the biggest buttery pieces of eel we’ve ever eaten and the Udon Soup (seafood) that honestly deserved to be slurped but alas, I was being too self conscience.
Our waitress was a bit overwhelmed at times but the service was prompt when needed. I’m sure they’ll work out the kinks overtime.
We’ll certainly be back!

Great place! They are starting so try to get early when not to full. Sushi is awesome. You must try the caterpillar roll! It is awesome! We will be back for sure!!!

The food was very good, but I need to note that we waited 1 hour and 10 minutes for sushi for our grandson — who got more and more hungry as he saw us finish up and then wait for his food to be served. I complained to the owner/​manager who said she would not charge us. I pointed out that I had already paid, expecting her to say she would reimburse me, but, no, no comment on her part. I didn’t want to raise a stink, and so I let it pass, but we won’t go back, and we certainly would not anyone going for sushi. Too bad; the other food was good.

Great food. Freshly served and prepared. They don’t have much variety of entrees but wide variety of sushi. All the food was great and entrees are served with miso soup or they’re specialty salad, ginger sauce. My main concern was the temp of the sushi, I’m used to my sushi served cold but ours was a little on the warm side. Still tasted great. The staff is really friendly and willing to help out with the menu.
This place just opened June 15, 2015. The manager said they’re still working out the kinks and will add more amenities and service. But they’re willing to accommodate.
