The food smells good, although they give you small portions compared to Aahar. I asked for larges of each thing and they came in small containers. When I went in I asked if they had menus to take home, they girl said«we don’t kill trees», okay? That’s not what I asked, she had an attitude even when I called in to place my order. Needless to say I won’t be ordering from here again. Also, when I get home i noticed that my chicken tikka Marsala was no longer going to go in my stomach as it was all over the bag. Also when I called back at 9:45 to inform them of their mistakes they already weren’t answering the phone. I tried 3 times. When I walked in originally the place was empty, as compared to Aahar who is busy until they close, if the girls attitude reflects how they treat all their customers, no wonder they are empty. As a manager I would be furious!

I am definitely a Fan of Namaste Flavours! I enjoy the concept of serving yourself. They have a section next to the buffet for you to gather all your plates and silverware, all paper utensils by the way. Every table comes with a pitcher of room temperature water… my kind of place. Anyhow, the selection they have for lunch changes every day. Of course you will have your favorites, like Tandoori Chicken, butter chicken, Chapathi(bread) and Gulab Jamun(dessert). However, it seems each time I go, there is always something new that I’ve never tried before. Today this was the Mushroom Bonda! These are mushrooms covered in a battered with Indian spices and deep fried. I simply loved these. It was like a party in my mouth. In Farmington Hills, I frequent two Indian cuisine restaurants the most; Namaste Flavours and Aahar off Grand River. Both of these spots pretty much resolve my cravings. During Lunch hours, they only offer the buffet. For $ 9.53(this is including tax) you can eat and be back on the road under 20 minutes. I love the convenience this restaurant has for me, especially when I need to eat and run.

It’s dirt cheap, a fair amount of food for the money, the down side is the whole place feels kind of dirty. If you can around that it’s a great deal, and the food is always good.

Pros Reasonable price, servings are big in size, enough spicy for spice lovers Cons Stereo foam plates for dine in are a little low standard, quality of food is mediocre

Great take-out experience. Chicken Manchurian was the best, followed by the special chicken biryani and chicken 65. Chicken Dum biryani was alright. They had no special chicken biryani when I called but when I got there, the lady on the counter said they were making some more and they would gladly replace my dum biryani order. I got both of them. Good service if you are nice to them. Prices were surprisingly reasonable.

Best Indian food in Detroit area. Coming from North Indian family, we regularly look out for spiced up Indian food/curries and Namaste offers excellent options.

This buffet may be very busy during lunchtime, but for good reason: it has a wonderful, authentic taste that cannot be beat for the incredible price. The variety was great as well, from south to north India. My palette was pleased.

BEST Indian Food in the Detroit Area. SOGOOD! Without a doubt the most flavorful Chicken Makhani(marinated/seasoned chicken BEFORE adding the deliciously spiced gravy). Incredible. And they use WHITEMEAT chicken. Thank goodness. Unbelievable red chutney to go along with their snack-happy Chicken Pakoda. I’m dreaming of more already and I just had my leftovers for lunch today. Nice people, great place — who cares about the containers of food? Yeah, it’s a little odd to have styrofoam for dine in(which I’ve never done) but who cares. What they save in dishwashing fees they super over-compensate with mind-blowing, mouth-blasting flavor in every entrée and app they serve. Whenever I’m in Detroit this is MYGO-TO place for Indian food. Hot Damn they’re great at their craft and my mouth and tummy are a thousand percent pleased each and every time. Five stars when I can taste and back up more of the menu. ;)

I came on a Saturday lunch time. The plates and bowls, folks, knifes, everything is disposable plastic ware. Every food is fresh and taste good. It’s authentic Indian food. Every customer in the restaurant seemed to be Indian except us. I thought I was in India.

I was excited to try this place based on the reviews; typically if it has a high rating on Unilocal,I trust that it’s a decent establishment. This restaurant was the exception. To give you background on my Indian food palette: I have eaten at Indian restaurants in 5 States in the US and 3 states in India and my take on Indian food quality is typically on par with my Indian friends. As a starter, we ordered the gobi manchurian which was different than I’d ever had before… very dry and covered in onions. None of that signature dry reddish masala gravy. It was not bad, just different. The naan were small and crispy, nothing to brag about. The rest of the meal was awful. I have never come across Biryani that was so bland that I couldn’t even tell it was an Indian dish. Great Biryani is hard to find but this was not even acceptable. It was their«special chicken biryani». It was special in the sense that it was nothing like biryani. Mattar paneer is a home dish that should be simple enough to whip up. Unfortunately it was like eating a bowl of cream. I was gagging on the sweet and rich consistency the gravy. I tried to eat it with the rice of the biryani, but 2 bads do not make a good. The final dish, a no-frills go-to; chicken curry. I think they forgot to use tomatoes in the base and just dumped oil and masala in some chicken stock. I’m not sure what it was, to be honest. I’m very against wasting any meat but we just couldn’t finish this dish. Lastly, like many before me have mentioned, the Styrofoam plates and plastic cutlery is sad and wasteful. They really made the dining experience that much worse. Save yourself a trip and find a nicer place to dine!

Do not judge a book by its cover — I think that should be Namaste Flavours motto. :) For as long as I’ve lived here, Namaste Flavours has been on my list to try. Some friends raved about it, and others despised it. Since we are fans of Indian food, we just had to try it for ourselves, and 2015 was the year! lol We came on a Thursday dinner time, and went in with absolutely no expectations. I knew that the place would be no frills. However, once we stepped in, it really reminded us of Indian restaurants out in NJ. Grab your own utensils, fill your own water, bus your own tables, and sit down and enjoy some delicious Northern Indian food! We ended up deciding on the palak paneer, butter chicken, lamb biryani, and 2 pieces of naan(1 garlic, 1 plain). FYI — naan here is a la carte, so don’t expect it to come free with your meal. The biryani was our favorite, because it was super fragrant, and had an intense cardamom flavor. Delicious, and the portion was monstrous. Butter chicken had intense heat, and the tomato base was thick and hearty. Definitely mention to the wait staff if spice levels are not your thing. We were happy with it, but believe me, we had runny noses by the end of the meal! :) Palak Paneer was good, but the consistency was a bit runny. It still had great flavor, but the texture wasn’t something I was used to. I’d still order it again though. The cubes of cheese were spongey and springy; just the way we like them. Naan was good, but the garlic one was definitely the star of the two. For us two, two pieces were plenty because they are larger than the average ones you get at Indian restaurants. The portions, as I had mentioned before, were monstrous. It didn’t even look like we ate anything, but we were stuffed! Leftovers were spread over 3 days, and the flavors just improved with time. I’d be glad to come back here again, and please don’t be put off by the lack of ambience, décor, and the DIY service. The staff are pleasant people, and the food is really delicious. :)

Love the chicken tikka masala with extra spice. Everything have tried has been good. Always feel like need to drink a gallon of water later due to the salt though. Channa masala is another fave. Can’t beat the lunch Buffet excellent value and flavor. Kinda like the cafeteria style service only reason 3 is the styrofoam which never breaks down and is horrible for the environment. How about using paper lol. Many dates are banning styrofoam so can only hope Michigan does too. Good food Horrible at caring about the world. Not a hippie but geez pretty well documented.

Awesome food from the Hyderabad and Andhra region in southern India. Best to take out. Try the Dum Biryani, Double ka meetha(bread pudding), Mirchi ka salan, Cut Mirchi(fried chili peppers), Butter chicken, Chilli Idly and Chicken 65.

Sorry, just can’t like this place, I just don’t want to eat my dinner off styrofome that’s just makes no sense big waste, I just don’t get it, self serve ok but that styrofome got to go. And the food was VERY salty yea there’s favor but also a bunch of salt, the breads were the highlight, I might go one more time, but just for takeout where stryfome is ok. 1 off for the salty dishes 2 off for the styrofome.

I love this place. It looks horrible from the outside and the inside isnt much better. But the food is freaking fantastic. THey have cleaned it up a lot over the years. Lunch buffet is paper plates and warm water. No one will explain to you how the place works. You just dive in feet first and figure it out. It is worth it. It is always packed with real live Indian people and they seem to enjoy it. If you didnt know there is a huge Indian population in Farmington Hills. That could be why there are so many Indian places there. Namaste is the best of all them. Fridays are more spicy or more dollars for buffet.

I’m hesitant to give them 5 stars because there are clearly valid issues that need to be addressed at this restaurant, more on that in a second… My 5 stars are given solely to the flavors«heavy spices» used at this restaurant. They are clearly making Indian food for the Indian pallet and not for middle of the road average Midwestern tastes. But there are clearly issues and I’m not the first to point them out. The styrofoam and plastic ware aren’t for everyone’s sensibilities and the self service water etc… take it or leave it right? A few times I have been asked to wait for a table while others«Indians» were whisked past me and immediately sat, while I am forced to wait and then sat in the corner. Is this because of me being Caucasian? I don’t know, I’m not saying that for sure but it seems a bit odd though, perhaps the other people were VIPs or something. I can deal with it regardless. I suggest coming here for the lunch buffet. I have never been here for dinner, but I hear they bust out real plates and metal forks etc… When you come here, expect full flavor and heat. Expect lots of the same stuff you see at other buffets just more full flavored and not watered down. Expect serf serve everything, you’ll probably have to go up and tell the cashier what you ordered etc…

Are you down with the king of Indian buffets in Metro Detroit? If not, you better ask somebody about Namaste Flavours… Namaste is hands down the best Indian Buffet around. Farmington Hills neighbor Aahar tried to take a run at the crown, but is merely a pretender. Namaste consistently delivers the best, freshest, SPICIEST South Indian food around. Seriously, some of the curry dishes are so hot my Indian friends are amazed that I like Namaste. I love the self-serve, no fuss setup with the paper plates and pitcher of water too. Just come in, fill up your tray with curry awesomeness and go to town. I also enjoy their dessert selection, which is often lacking with other Indian buffets. Along with yogurt rice they usually have a delicious sweet carrot mash thing with almonds(I’m sure that’s the correct name for it) and something else interesting. Bring cash! Namaste doesn’t have time to trifle with your credit and debit card bills under $ 10.

This is hands down the best Indian I have ever had. The lunch buffet is where it’s at. Namaste is a no thrills, cafeteria like experience. The butter chicken and paneer masala are amazing. I usually get two plates worth on the classic styrofoam plates and bowls. The desserts are also top notch. I’m not exactly sure what I’m eating on my weekly visits, but it is damn good each time. The price point of $ 7.99 is a welcome and refreshing price point compared to dining out anywhere else. See you next week Namaste!
