Luigi has the the best food in the area. Dominic, the owner is always there making sure everything is perfect. My favorite are the spinach salad and eggplant parmesian… everything g is yummy. Price moderate. Perfect place for a date!

This place sucks, don’t waste your money. I’ve lived in Farmington my whole life and I never tried this place, finally had a chance. What an utter disappointment. First I walked in the entrance from Grand River side. Waited by the door and the old man Don working at the bar looks at me and looks away. Finally the owner Luigi sees me and I say ”seat yourself”. I sit down in a booth(table 3), the table is very sticky, the lamps above the table have food stains inside them and on top of them there very dusty, I look at the lamps, around the bar is very dusty also. I sat for awhile till my server arrived and it was the same guy Don that ignored me at the door. I order the chicken parm, I swear it took the Don forever to get my salad, I think he forgot to put my order in. Shortly after my chicken parm arrived, terrible. Sauce had no flavor, the Penns noodles were previously over cooked and they were cold, the chicken parm was burnt, terrible. For dessert I ordered the terriamasu, I’ve had better nothing special. It took forever to cash out, OMG after a bad meal I just wanted to leave. The really need to have more then 1 waiter on duty. They 1 guy, Don who’s 75 could only go so fast. Only take your worst enemy to this dump.

We are definitely coming back! The service was great, the food was overall good… but what made the visit amazing was the Amaretto Tiramisu. Even though we visited on a Sunday around 4 pm and the place was empty, the owner made us feel we got to the right place. Courteous, kind and fast service. I would recommend visiting and asking for specials. The food tastes truly home made. This makes it a good experience!

An old favorite with great food and great service. Portion size is good, as is the quality of the ingredients. Always worth a visit

If I could reward in half star increments I’d rate this three and half stars. Ambience is so so and service while friendly is bit undertrained. But I believe this is a family business and the wait staff seemed a bit young. I believe the food did make up the short comings otherwise. I enjoyed my dish tremendously the pasta tasted homemade. I’ve only been once but for around here I found it to be one of the better one. Better than Antonios in my single experience. I will come back and verify.

Very nice neighborhood Italian restaurant. The menu has a wide variety of Italian American staples including a nice vegetarian section. The pasta dishes are excellent, the house wine is great, and they have very good service. The atmosphere is casual and cozy. There is ample parking behind the restaurant, the main entrance is in the back. The location in downtown Farmington is convenient also.

Took my wife here hoping it would be good. You get a lot of food but if you just want. Lot of less than ok check this place out. I think my grandparents like this place because they can drop the salt shaker on this bland excuse for Italian food. Every bit of food we ate tasted«out of a box» bland.

This was the most unique experience I’ve ever encountered at a restaurant. My father and I went in to get dinner tonight. We waited at the host station watching waiters and the host walk by without so much as eye contact. I understand if it’s busy, but is it too much to acknowledge a customer’s presence? After about 30 minutes of standing in isolation my father got a phone call and stepped outside. The owner appeared out of nowhere, walked over and told my father«the air conditioning is on you need to shut the door.» My dad asked if a table was ready and the owner scolded him saying«No! you’re letting the air out.» My dad told me «let’s go» and told the owner«we’ve been waiting here for 30 min and you’re yelling at me about the door?!» He said«you’ve only been here a few minutes!» And then said«I think it’s time you leave,» and ushered us to the door where he shut it in our face. I was pretty amazed at this type of service since in my 33 years I have never had an experience like this. It frustrates me we were so patient. My dad’s been there many times before, which is why he wanted me to go and enjoy their food. Apparently not, i was pretty amazed by this place and will never be eating there. If there was a negative star I would check that exponentially.

Nice neighborhood place. Extensive menu. Limited bar menu. The waiters serve as bartenders. The food is good but not great. The calamari was decent. The marinara sauce served with it quite good. The shrimp fettuccine was very good. The gorgonzola pasta with shrimp was good. Portions are big. Come with an appetite and leave with a box. Drive around the back. Plenty of parking] in the shopping mall and well lit rear entrance.

I’m not sure why this place was so empty. The fam stopped in for dinner at 7pm Friday night, there were a handful of tables– I swear we were the only table with patrons under 60, which was super weird. The service was fantastic, management even stopped by before we ordered to help us choose great dishes. The appetizer wasn’t anything out of the ordinary, but the main entrees were very tasty. My husband and I each had a specialty pasta dish, his was veal– mine was chicken. I’d stop in again, and hope that they get some more business!

Great service, better food, and very reasonable prices. Cajun Whitefish is phenomenal and of course all their Italian dishes are as well. But seriously get Cajun Whitefish.

Food is average in a pinch, but dont expect anything special. Mostly from a can or perhaps frozen. Reminds me of college food.

Had a very nice lunch here with a friend. Spinach salad was tasty and large portion. We split it and also split the eggplant appetizer. Very nice waitress. Will go again.

Here on a Saturday night with my son. We were seated and given water right away. Drink order was taken promptly and a small bread basket was delivered. Just sliced bread-nothing special. They were all over our water glasses. Never got below half full. Once we figured out what we wanted to order from their large menu, our server was there to take the order. Italian Sausage soup was brought out quickly and was nice & hot. Good soup loaded with vegetables with several small pieces of sausage. We waited a while for our entrees. I got Shrimp Fettuccini which was just OK. I think they cooked it with wine and it needed salt which I don’t remember ever adding to pasta at the table before. My son had Fettuccini Primavera in oil & garlic and said it was bland. I tasted it and there was definitely a hint of toasted garlic, but I agree it was a bit bland. We saw some whitefish and asparagus go by and it looked great. I would give this place another try for sure, but we struck out with what we ordered. Nothing«wrong» with our food, just not our favorite. Service was solid and the owner checked on us twice.

You can come here breakfast, lunch or dinner. You never have to fear a wait. I miss the days when they used to offer 20% off your bill if you paid in cash. I get the beef ravioli with the meat sauce as I’m not a big fan of the alfredo sauce at this place. Also the young server could have checked in at the table more to see if we needed water refills, etc.

OMG… well on a good note the food was decent & reasonably priced. But the owner… this guy is a piece of work. I came to the restaurant trying to use an entertainment coupon on my phone. The App says this vendor accepts promotions over mobile phone, similar to Groupon. When i presented my phone to our server, the owner says he only takes the paper coupon & then proceeds to argue with me over why he only takes the paper. He did ultimately honor the promotion, but he was very rude, argumentative, and hostile. He was literally yelling at me from 10 feet across the restaurant. The whole place could hear him arguing with me, as I sat at my table. There weren’t many people there, but this was pretty embarrassing. I will NEVER be back there. Too bad too, because its in a great location in downtown Farmington.

I used to like Luigi’s. It was not a restaurant I would go to all the time, but once in a while, it was a good choice for something different that was not too expensive. My family and I went this weekend and ordered our usual staples. The stuffed eggplant for me, chicken florentine for my husband and a bowl of soup for my daughter. We also had a calamari appetizer. The appetizer was pretty good. The calamari was tender and the tomato sauce it was served with was good. The portion was a little small for the price, but it tasted good. The Italian meatball soup was highly underseasoned and my husband insisted it had a funny flavor. I did not pick up on the funny flavor, but it was not good. The chicken florentine was ok, my husband did not complain about it, but the parmesan cheese it was served with had been left out and was very hard and dry, just like the bread in the basket. The bread in the basket appeared to have been left out uncovered since the previous night’s dinner service, yuck. The stuffed eggplant entrée was edible, a little overbrowned but it did not greatly affect the flavor of the dish with the cheeses and sauce. The vegetables it was served with were another story. The obviously bagged and frozen vegetable medley were warmed up on the flat top and were completely burned. They tasted of pure burnt carbon. Truly disgusting. When I left the vegetables on the side, the waiter asked«Can I get you a box?» looked at the burnt vegetables and just took them away. The waiter himself was not very good at filling up water glasses and things, but he did bring the food out in time and in the right order. While we were dining, the cook and the owner were talking about the latest game on tv… maybe they should have been in the back doing a little quality assurance. I will not be back.

Had a great dinner there on Saturday Dec 12012. Prices very reasonable and food great. Everyone at our table was very satisfied. The beef ravioli was well worth the price on the menu, it tasted homemade! My wife and I had spaghetti with whole wheat noodles. It was awesome. Certainly would recommend this place to anyone.

Went here for lunch and I liked it. I was craving pasta and had to request the dinner menu because they don’t have pasta on their lunch menu. Also the manager or owner seemed to hover over our table a bit and interrupted the waiter a few times as he was trying to answer our questions. But that is where my complaints end. The food seemed very fresh and tasty. We had pasta and a sandwich and the pace of the service was perfect. If you were in a time crunch, you could totally eat and make it back in time. Also I thought the lunch menu was very reasonable. Better than the deli around the corner and cheaper too. Overall I would for sure go back.
