Discount Tire Store – Farmington, NM

Having worked at a tire shop before, one of my pet peeves is when tire shops run down the lugnuts with a impact wrench, I have had to replace more wheel studs than I liked. Discount used torque limiting extensions on their impact wrench, then got out the torque wrench! My kinda tire shop! Highly recommend them

Eh just ok. Nothing special.

My wife had Discount Tires free balance and rotation on her tires prior to an out of state trip. On the road to Gallup when she got up to +60mph the vehicle started vibrating so bad she thought a wheel was loose. After checking the tires she proceeded to Gallup and had a tire shop there check the vehicle. All four tires required weights, once rebalanced the vehicle ran fine. The shop charged her over $ 60 to balance the tires.
When she returned home I took the receipt and headed to Discount Tire ready for a fight. I told my story to the service tech, he said it should not have happened, asked for the receipt, went to the Manager, Manager said not sure what happened but reimbursed me for the balance. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes without an angry word. Amazing! Sure this should not have happened at all but s**t happens and they were there to make it right. Farmington Discount Tire Store gets my vote of approval.

Service is ok try to make an apoinment that way you wont have to wait to long, other than that prices seem cheap, plus they fix flat tires for free

I’ve been here numerous times, if ordered new tires and rims here and I’ve had great service. Although there was a young lady there that seems to have attitude but the rest of the team is great. They loaded up
my old wheels in the back of my truck and service was great. My only beef with them is that they’re always busy… maybe because they have great service and great prices? If you bring your business here, try to schedule them with an appointment because they’re busy.

This review will be in several parts.
Part 1. Online scheduling. I needed two new tires for my truck so I went online to see what was available. Discount Tire allows you to check the inventory of the selected location to see what is in stock. This is VERY convenient. I found the tires I wanted and proceeded to reserve them and make an appointment to have them installed. I completed the registration and hit «enter» only to receive an error message. So I tried again and received an error message again. I figured I would just have to call the store the next morning to make an appointment. I then checked my e-​mail. Despite the two error messages I discovered I had two appointments set for the following day.
Part 2. «Checking in». I arrived at the store a little after my «appointment» so I anticipated having to wait. The store was busy with several customers being helped as I entered. When it was my turn to be helped I stepped to the counter. The employee was interrupted by a phone call before he could assist me. As I waited for him to finish his phone call another employee came to the counter, looked past me and asked the next customer if she could assist him! Well, it only took another 30 seconds for the first employee to finish the phone call and assist me, so it wasn’t a big deal.
Part 3. Installation. As I said earlier the store was busy and I arrived late for my appointment so I expected to wait. They got my truck in quickly and installed my new tires right away. I was very impressed with how quickly they were able to get the new tires put on my vehicle.
When the installation was complete, one of the employees called me up to the counter and gave me the paperwork. He told me he would pull my vehicle up front. I met him in the front of the office and I drove away. When I reached my next destination I noticed the spare tire had been put in the bed of my truck, not put back underneath where it belongs. I have never, in all the time I have purchased tires, had the spare tire been left out and not put where it belongs.
Overall I give three stars to Discount Tires in Farmington. With a little work on customer service both when signing in and in completing the work of placing the spare tire in the proper place, I would give them 5 stars.
