Laundromax

We use this laundromat once or twice a year for heavy loads and the like. Very clean, only negative comment the chairs to sit on are very stained but not sure what you can really expect. Friendly attendant. Free coffee. Lots of machines of various sizes and capabilities to choose from.

What a dump! The floor is dirty the machines are leaking and out of order. The staff is unwilling to help. Never again.

Just most of the other reviewers have said, Laundromax has plenty of washers and dryers. The attendant has always been friendly. Regular dryers are .50¢ for 12 minutes and washers start at $ 3.00, depending on the size you need. Definitely recommend avoiding coming on the weekends, as it tends to be a lot busier. My husband and I come here as an alternative to the apartment laundry room and have never had an issue.

I haven’t had to use a Laundromat in many years. So to see one so well equipped to handle all your laundry needs was a total surprise. I took my mom here because she needed to wash several comforters. There were plenty of washing machines for standard loads and several others for bulky heavy loads. To wash a bulky load cost $ 4.00 a little pricey but the machines run for 40 minutes which gives your items plenty of washing time. The dryers for bulky heavy items cost by pounds (50 pounds cost .50 cents per 10 minutes) it took about 30 minutes to dry one comforter, times 5 wasn’t bad. There was also 35 pound dryer which cost .50 per 12 minutes.
Inside the shop is a dry cleaners and they carry a selection of laundry detergents, fabric softeners, tote bags (in three sizes) for a small fee. For your convenience there were two coin change machines should you need more quarters, an ATM machine should you need more cash, a snack and soda vending machine.
To make your stay more comfortable are chairs throughout the shop, laundry baskets with wheels, and several folding tables. It is in a great location and was very busy for a Tuesday afternoon.

This is a great alternative to my high priced apartment complex laundry room. And the people watching is phenomenal. I have never had to wait for a washer or a dryer and there’s usually a table open for folding. Sunday’s are fairly busy, but late afternoon or evening was always a pretty good time to get there. The attendant (the lady) was always helpful and one night when I got there just after the last load time, she let me throw in my clothes anyway and told me if I tried to go somewhere else downtown, I’d probably get robbed. So better safe than sorry?

The place has washers and dryers. I was in the area and the reviews looked decent so I figured it couldn’t be that bad. I was wrong! The place has an awful smell. Like old moldy dirty basement kind of smell. Or like a wet dog lives in it. Some of the washers were filthy with dog hair in them. My washer stopped after a few minutes and unfortunately I didn’t take notice until I was sitting there for twenty minutes cause I mean who sits there and watches the washer! So I ended up waiting almost an hour just to get them washed. Dryers are 50 cents for 12 min. And the washer was only 5 bucks. So prices weren’t too bad. But I would recommend someplace else.

So having lived in the area for almost two years now, as unfortunate as it is, I realize the expecting there to be a 24 hour anything other than Meijer is pretty unreasonable. Not even a diner. So I have no choice but to come rate Laundromax a tad higher. But I do think that it’s a great place to do your laundry. People are nice, respectful and the workers are really friendly.
After a few more trips here have revealed more. There are more machines than I had originally thought. There are $ 6 machines and huge machines $ 9.75 at the back. There are also larger dryers for your comforters and other big needs.

So … we need a laundromat for a short period. Not being a fan of doing my laundry in a public place (who is?), this one is close by. It’s rather neat and clean (for a laundromat), but does have an odor on occasion. I’ve been twice and find that the clothes get clean and so far nothing has been ruined. One drawback — no laundry tub. The prices are probably comparable to other places (but if you’re used to doing laundry at home, it feels like too much!). They also offer alterations and some items for purchase (i.e. detergent, snacks, etc.). I found the attendant to be friendly.

Clothes are still soaked when I used the front loading washing machines… Dryers took forever, therefore costing me a butt load more of money. Lady at the counter was really rude and even came up to my sister and I while we were folding to ask if we could not throw anything away in the trash can– per, she had already emptied it for the night. Luckily, I now have a washer/​dryer at home so I can avoid going here at all costs!!! I won’t even take my dry cleaning here.

Long story, but I needed a laundry service in this area. The establishment is neat and tidy, and the machines are clean and updated. My experience was about as good as it gets at a laundromat, and I didn’t notice that the prices were any higher than the dry cleaner I use in my area. The woman who was working was happy to help me with questions about some alterations I needed done, and while I normally see a tailor in Birmingham, I was VERY pleased with the work done. If I’m in this area, I would for sure come here– trust me, I’m picky.

Unlike the previous reviewer, I left extremely satisfied. Its difficult to find a clean laundry and nice people. Prices are slightly higher than others, but it’s worth it to be in a nice area and environment to do laundry in. They even do dry cleaning and alterations but those services may take a couple of days.
