I’m being treated by Dr. Jeffrey Margolis at Botsford Cancer Center. I’ve also seen him at Beaumont’s Rose Cancer Center, but switched to Botsford because it’s much closer to home. I had two negative experiences in Botsford Hospital in the past, so I was really happy to find out how different the cancer center is. The chemo room is quiet(at least on Tuesdays) and you aren’t sitting on top of the next patient like you do at Beaumont. Your friends and family can actually sit with you, which is the whole point of taking a buddy with you. More importantly than the room arrangements, the nursing staff and Dr. Margolis are awesome. I would highly recommend that anyone who needs an oncologist check him out. Nobody gets sick! Exhaustion and other side effects that can’t really be avoided, yes, but the combo of prevention drugs they give before the chemo drugs totally keeps me and others from spending time with our heads in the toilet. They all have great bedside manner too. Cancer sucks, but your treatment doesn’t have to. If you have a choice, go see Dr. Margolis at BHCC.
