Yorktown Deli

I have stopped in here for years. Reuben is OK. The place does have nice outdoor seating. They just need to tweak it a little and I feel they would be jammed everyday. Maybe a better structure to the ordering outside… not sure what’s missing but an easy lunch on a sunny day.

I’ve done Yorktown for bagels and lunch. Their bagels are acceptable for this neck of the woods, and their lunch is very average, but I’ve walked out of this place twice because of how slow the service is. The owner is there constantly, yet even he doesn’t seem to care that people come in and sit down. He stares at them with a blank, bewildered expression then scurries to the back to avoid helping us. I’ve stopped going to a place that was a fairly regular haunt.
I’d love to see more small delis in the area, especially if they aren’t part of massive chains, but how can this place stay in business if they don’t serve their customers? Further what money is the place bringing in since the food is, at best, mediocre?
All in all, a very disappointing place.
