This will probably be the last time we eat from here. We ordered take out tonight and our drunken noodles were over cooked. our pad thai was very dry. the pineapple in the fried rice had gone bad(we know what cooked pineapples taste like) and it was sour. The eggplants in our curry was nearly raw and not cooked. Every dish had a problem. We should have returned our food bc it was so terrible but we were already home and starving. Even though this is the closest thai place to us, we won’t be going back anymore and making our way to another thai place from here on out. Terrible quality. And considering that I paid $ 18 for the pineapple fried rice is a Frickin rip off and slap in the face, when I cant even get decent quality pineapples. If I make food, I make it so that it’s good enough for my family to eat. and this is way below standards. I do not recommend this place for thai. Go somewhere else.

Incredibly tasty food Great ambience, can dress up or dress down Best papaya salad I have ever had– fresh crunchy and delicious. My only qualm is with the quantity but alas it is an appetizer portion Love the veggie spring rolls Highly recommend the seafood combo! The sauce is sooooo tasty salty sweet tangy and makes for a perfect explosion of deliciousness in your mouth. The tilapia is crunchy on the outside but delicate and flaky on the inside the scallops are great and almost to perfection and the shrimp oh divine Duck ka pow is great Drunken noodles wow

Tara Thai has great food for a fairly low price, however their service leaves something to be desired. There were many occasions in which my water glass remained empty for long durrations while also being unable to get the attention of the server. If it wasn’t for the food quality anf the price, I wouldn’t keep coming back.

Out of all the Thai Restaurant I went too, this one is by far disappointing and but yet delicious. I found this restaurant through localflavor, and decided to give it a try despite their reviews and the fact that they owned over six Tara Thai restaurants. The Food Pros: The food were simply delicious, they had the tight flavor and taste compare to other restaurants where it is too much of an ingredient that makes the food«alright to eat». We had the Nam Tok, it was a very good flavor, the Simease Beef, as well as the Goong Puu Obb. Cons: The shrimp in the food in ordered was not that cook which made me sick later in the day. But the biggest complaint is «why are the portion so small?» The Beef Salad slices were so thin and there were so little. The entrée portion are small as well. But hey, now I know why they have so small restaurant, good food, but small portion, to rip you off. Service: Service was okay. I didn’t pay much attention since I came there for the food. But the server was a bit emotionless. Would I come back here again? Mostly unlikely not, they overcharge for the small amount of portion they serve. Unless there is a groupon. Then I might reconsider.

I wish there was an option to choose zero stars. They messed up both my lunch orders and never canceled my credit card transaction when they promised me they would. The first order was spicy after I asked for«non spicy» and the second order had some hair in it. They lied to me and when I called back today they told me only one manager can refund my charge. I will give this place a ZERO and will never go back. It’s horrible!!!

If i could rate a Negative amount of stars, I WOULD. DONOTWASTEYOURTIMEORMONEY! I work close by, about a 3 minute drive. We love Thai food therefore we have continuously given this place a chance, time & time again. After receiving wrong orders and BURNT food we have finally had enough. The customer service is non-existent! The manager on call is INEPT to say the least. Rude as you can imagine and aggressive. We called back with our complain and she proceeded to tell us that we should«Order something else next time». Not to mention it took us 15 minutes of bickering before she rudely stated she would send her driver with our food«whenever he became available» which was not until 1 and a half hours later. No wonder this place is going out of business. Its a lethal combination of burnt food, the worst customer service ever and HIGHPRICES. I’m done. *Drops Mic*

Ha the worst experience ever. I went to order food to go with my friend who was so excited to have me try the food and as soon as we walked in, we were ignored. We weren’t greeted and when we saw a menu, we took one one to choose our order & no waitress or waiter approached us when it wasn’t busy at all. It seemed like no one wanted to help and then when I finally waived my hand to get help, this Asain man came to help us. This man was horrible. He was so rude. As soon as he came to get our order, he had a bad attitude, bad energy and made it clear to us that he didn’t want to help or take our order. How do you think that would make a customer feel??? He wasn’t attentive at all and was stoic and careless. We then waited about 30 min for our food which wasn’t a hug order and when we then finally received our to go order, I checked the bag to make sure I got the right order and of course like a rude, disrespectful, careless waiter, I was given no utensils, no napkins or hot sauce that I requested for. Then when I asked for napkins, they had the nerve to give me about 3 when the order was for two people. Like cmon I spent $ 50 on my order and you can’t even give me napkins. I had to tell the guy how disgusted I was with his attitude and service and then I told him how can he not have given me utensils and he said” we don’t usually give those out for takeout“what the heck! I was furious! I’m not a difficult person and was given the worst and meanest service ever so you can assure I will never be coming back here and will make sure my friends and family don’t either

I had eaten here once before and decided to give it another go. Lunch menu reasonable for the area. Portions are large. The Spring Roll and small Soup that came before the entrée were the best part of the meal. I got Pad Thai Jae and my husband got drunken noodles. Both had good reviews previously. Our tastes must be different than the other reviewers, however. Perhaps we are comparing to other Thai restaurants… it’s hard to say… I was expecting peanut sauce on the noodles for some reason… not peanuts crushed up beside the noodles. I also was not expecting the noodles to taste sour. The drunken noodles, according to my husband, were«okay» — not very good compared to others he had had. — Also the napkin and tableware were dirty. While they gave me new, they left the dirty ones for the next patron. I decided to remove that option by crumpling the napkin so it couldn’t be used again. I’m guessing this will be my last visit to this restaurant… it’s not worth the effort to my way of thinking.

I love their curry puff pastries and their duck curry. The puffs are a little on the sweet side, just as a heads up. They have a pretty good happy hour with discounted drinks and small plates. Their service is also pretty good the times I’ve been there. Their prices are fair, and it’s overall good Thai food. I always get their pad Thai and a curry dish— panang, green, or duck. All have been really good!

I ordered the spicy drunken noodle lunch yesterday which included a small serving of their vegetable soup of the day, one egg roll, and a generous serving of the main dish. The spicy drunken noodle actually had a nice, spicy kick to it which made my tummy very happy. The whole meal cost about $ 11 and I had enough to take home for dinner. I will come back.

Love their decorations at all of their restaurant locations! Right now the jelly fish on the ceiling are so cool! Great place to go hang out and talk with friends over good food because of the ambiance, reasonable prices, and good customer service. I always get the drunken noodles and they never disappoint! Their Thai iced tea is also amazing.

Wonderful. Wonderful. We love tara thai. If you’re into panang curry plan for it to be more thick than usual and not as spicy. The drunken noodle is made from unicorn dreams and leprechaun pee. The wonton soup is christmas morning to a little babe. You are the little babe.

I’ve only tried their takeout menu so far, but not bad! We ordered deep see entrée(seafood curry) and it was flavorful with a generous amount of mussels, scallops and shrimps. We were impressed by the quality of white rice that accompanied the curry as well. It only took them about 15 minutes on a weekday night to prepare the takeout food. Will definitely keep this place in mind as a Thai option in Falls Church!

DONOTGETTHEIRBEEFNOODLESOUPHERE. They just give you tum yum soup that is too sour with beef and noodles! Beef noodle soup is supposed to have beef broth. When placing the order they did not state that they do not have beef noodle soup they simply came up with a random dish. They did give me a credit for the item though which is why they are getting 2 stars instead of 1.

First time here. Decided to try out out since I haven’t been to this certain Thai place. I enjoyed it and really got a laugh that they have a dish called Pikachu noodles. It’s because of that yellow curry sauce. Waitress was so nice and friendly :) she deserves all the stars. I really enjoyed the food and loved the Thai iced tea. What made my skin crawl was the smell right when we walked in. Seafood smell everywhere. But I understand :) so check this place out.

I ate Tara Thai in the Richmond, VA location multiple times while studying at VCU. So, yesterday when my friend and I were craving Thai Cuisine we decided to go here since it’s located right off leesburg turnpike. Good pick on our part. We were super hungry and didn’t get here until 4 pm which is super late lunch for everyone. The server informed us lunch was over, booohoo! We didn’t care much however, dinner options are usually gigantic. And they were, hopefully Shazia(my friend) ate all her left overs. She ordered spicy eggplant entrée which she thoroughly enjoyed, at one point I thought she was attacking that dish(in a good way). I ordered the wide noodles entrée with shrimp: kee moo goon gai. It’s basically drunken noodles. I loved the spice level. We also shared vegetable spring rolls which were not oily like most places. The service was efficient and fast paced which we liked. Good decent restaurant for Thai in Tyson’s for sure.~

The décor in here is an under the sea feeling. Awkward turtles and reef murals. The menu is a decent size and I had to order from the house specials. The first thing that popped out is the crispy duck. I ordered it and I was not disappointed. The duck is cooked so moist and well. The outside is very crispy and the flavor was really good. I wouldn’t say this is the best crispy duck but it’s up there in my scale. The heat was perfectly balanced, not too hot and not too mild. It could have used a little more sweetness and more green/red peppers but overall a really good dish. I kept hearing about this place but never ventured; glad that I did because I had a good experience.

I don’t know what happened but Tara Thai used to be a go to for Thai food around the Tysons/Falls Church area for us. The food was usually excellent as is the service. But both have been lacking lately(past couple of years). The staff isn’t as friendly and the service has been slow. That’s why we usually order take out(more later). The Drunken Noodle is my favorite with the Thai chilis, basil, red pepper flakes, onions, tomatoes, chicken, shrimp, and wide rice noodle. The flavors are salty, sweet, spicy, and tart. Lately, the dish hasn’t been as spicy and they have been stingy with the shrimp. In the past, there were between 4 – 5 piece of shrimp. Lately, just 3. My wife usually gets the Pad See Eew(beef or seafood). Seafood or slices of beef with broccoli, egg, wide rice noodles in a sweet salty fish sauce sauce. It’s tasty. The wonton soup is very good with a few wontons, some slices of bbq pork, and napa cabbage in a savory consommé. We also like the spring rolls with the curly carrots and sweet/sour sauce. Overall, it’s okay but there are better if you are willing to search for it. Since sometimes we are lazy, we always have Tara Thai to fall back on. P. S. Carryout question: Who tips on carryout orders? Why do you tip? How much do you tip? And does the restaurant employee give you a dirty look if you don’t tip? What is the etiquette? These are questions that must be answered… or not. ;)
