Food was fabulous. Only $ 14 dollars and we left absolutely stuffed. We had the pupusas and pastelitos — tastes were simple yet satisfying. My husband loved the refried beans which came with the pupusas. I like the pickled cabbage. Again, I would say our experience was simple but satisfying. We will absolutely be going back.

La comida es tan deliciosa que me recordaba a La comida en Nicaragua. Si tienes tiempo, pasa por acá y aprovechen del buffet, de lunes a viernes 11am a 3pm. It has been some time since I found food as good as this place has, all hand made and filled with love. The staff is very friendly and will help you with any questions that you may have to ask. My girl approves and she is from Bolivia as I was raised in Nicaragua. Do it! You will not be disappointed, also don’t mind the look of the place as looks can be deceiving and we shall not judge a book by its cover! Enjoy!!!

my work BFFs were in the mood for latino food so we decided to try the week day lunch buffet… don’t expect amazing service and presentation… this is a down home kind of place. The place is clean and you help your self with Styrofoam plates on so many options from soups and stews, to fried foods and pupusas… very very good. There are names on top of the dishes to help guide us novices and there is a person assisting with service at the buffet who is willing to explain ingredients in certain foods. Self seating and self bussing… their desserts and shakes looked very good but did not have any room… will be back!

So far we have tried the burritos, pupusas, and seafood soup. The burrito comes with rice, choice of meat, salad. Not very flavorful but it is somewhat tasty since they pore a sauce and melted cheese on top. I think it might also come with beans but we always skip on that they offer guac and sour crème on the side. The pupusas are very filling and tasty, the seafood soup is what I would expect to have at a Hispanic household so it is authentic. I’m definitely going to be coming back for more :)

Yes yes and yesssss. If you want the best homemade salvadorian cooking then you need to come here. No questions asked. Look in the back kitchen and it’s like you’re at your moms house. Authentic as it gets. Order the camerones(shrimp) with peppers and onions and rice. Also get their tamale de elote with crema — to die for. And of course their pupusas But make sure you go to the gym afterwards. Cause this is definitely some heavy food.

i recommend this place to all my friends and family. I almost always get the pupusa meal and it’s amazing every time! they have a lot of variety in their menu and they also have a buffet everyday. The prices are also pretty cheap, if you go to guapos or uncle julios you get the same dishes for double the price. The only thing i have run across is that some days it takes them quite a long time to get the food out, but it’s still always well worth the wait.

I’ve never sat down to write a review before but this time I HAD to do it. This place rocks. my. socks. off! I work across the street, heard the hype often so I finally gave it a chance. Lots of delicious Latino food, the Peruvian dishes are amazing! Nothing tasted bland or just okay, every single item in the lunch buffet was unbelievably good. The only problem here was the plastic utensils given which made it harder to pig out like I really wanted to. YUM!

Had a doctor’s appointment in Falls Church and afterward was driving around looking for a place to eat. Saw a Japanese Seafood Buffet in a strip mall so decided to stop in to check it out. One look in that restaurant and how empty it was, I decided to check out San Miguel and their $ 10 lunch buffet instead since the restaurant was quite pack which is always a good sign. It was one of the best Latin American buffet lunch that I’ve tired. I live in Herndon but every chance I get to head into Falls Church, I make sure to stop by for lunch.

This place is pretty awesome. I am not 100% sure but it seems to be Salvadorean(I am basing this on the fact that they had pupusas in the buffet). There seems to be a variety of authentic dishes and everything was pretty tasty. There also were choices for those that are adventuresome. A nice option for those working around the area and good deal. $ 10 lunch buffet.

$ 10.00 lunch buffet. Scared to say this, because I don’t want this place to get too busy, but it is the best Latin American buffet I’ve ever been to. They have 10 entrees, some favorites were the beef in the red sauce and beef in the green cilantroey sauce. Their squash was superb, covered in pupusa white cheese. They have an attendant who makes fajitas. Their avocado/guac was the best. That being said don’t come for the atmosphere or service, but the food more than makes up for it. Will be back, very, very soon!

Awesome carne asada, buffet is great as well but can get a lil boring if you go there often.

I’ve been 3 times for the lunch buffet. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Do remember that it is not full-service so you have to go to the counter to pay first and then get water or beverages each time. The meats and stews are tasty and flavorful. I am a fan of «Bizarre Foods» so I like trying new and funky fare. The creole style tripe was good on two visits. It’s nice and tender(which means they took the time to cook it for a long time). There was one visit where the tripe smelled a little off. My two complaints are minor: The selection has not changed in my three visits and some of the items aren’t as warm as they should be. A variety and warmer food would have warranted more stars.

Opens at 6am. Nice alternative to Panera down the block. I had the chorizo and scrambles. Very good.

Had the buffet lunch today and was very impressed! There were 24 dishes(2 per each warmer) and an extensive fajita topping bar. There was a good mix of selections. The restaurant was clean and pleasant. For $ 9.99, I would come back any time!

My wife and I have been frequenting San Miguel for about two years now and it is one of the best in the area in terms of breakfast. We have found that all the good Salvadorean places in the area(Natalys, San Miguel and Blancas) are good in different ways. Go to Blancas for Pupusas and a great dinner Go to Natalys for a quick lunch Go to San Miguel for an excellent breakfast Food: 9 Cleanliness: 9 Service: 7 Space: 8 I personally enjoy the huevos con chorizo with a side of fresh farmers cheese. We normally order a pupusa or two as a side. The cheese and bean ones are really good! I have never tried their buffet and only had dinner there once. Dinner was good and we look forward to trying out their lunch buffet in the future.

Place was empty for lunch, but that was probably because of the snow. The buffet was miserable. Cold food, bad cuts of meat. Small selection. I tried everything and not a single item was that good. Service was confused and slow. Two stars just because the guy behind the buffet was nice. With the propensity of El Salvadoran food in the area, I would avoid this place and look elsewhere.

The service wasn’t the greatest, then again we came in on a busy Saturday afternoon. After we placed our order at the counter, in spanish(I don’t think anyone speaks english here fyi). There is a large lit up menu on the wall. Each meal numbered. Immediately #20 caught my eye. We sat near the buffet table. Which I was really looking to get, but the buffet is only Mon-Fri. The atmosphere was noisy, they have a few large screens with Spanish ESPN, and the music turned up on a speaker hidden near us. Eventually the music stopped, for a bit. We waited for our order number to be called on the loud speaker in spanish. Finally a young woman came with two trays. We quickly had to move our drinks for her as she was having difficult holding one of the trays steady. My youngest brother ordered Steak n’ Cheese. Yes Steak n’ cheese was on the menu! I ordered Carne Asada(grilled steak) came with white rice, salad, tortilla, blended re fried beans and peeled Guaca-moli. My sister got Chili Relleno. All food is served on disposable foam plates. We all agreed the food tasted average. So I’m giving this a 3 star rating.

This is the ONLY Mexican buffet that I know of… and for that reason I’ll give it 5 stars. This weekday lunch buffet from 11−3pm for $ 10 started only a month or two ago. Even though the sign does say«Latin» the employees assure me it’s really mostly Mexican cuisine. I think they did this to compete with the guys next door(Mirage). Anyway, it’s not like Mexican food is all that expensive or mysterious to begin with… that you need a buffet to sample little pieces of this and that, but it’s still pretty damn cool. The food was good and the place is very spacious. If you come for the buffet, just grab a plate, load up, sit down, eat up, and pay out at the end. It’s just plastic forks and foam plates. The buffet had a good variety of foods(about 15 or so items) including made to order fajitas. The guy behind the buffet table was very helpful but only when I could understand him. I was so embarrassed to have to ask him to repeat himself 3 or 4 times. Guy probably thought I was deaf or something, but his accent was just too strong. In fact, I think I was the only non-Mexican or Latino there. This was definitely outside my comfort zone but I really liked the experience. I look forward to trying this place out again. Hopefully the buffet will stick around cuz.
