I have had absolute best experience with this cleaner every time I go. Staff are very friendly and never had any of my clothes ruined. They are always on schedule never late.

Got alterations done. Not quality work. The price was a robbery for the type of work done. If you charge a high price for alterations at least do an excellent job and do it the way the person wants it done. He just wants your money. I’m never going here again. The quality is not for what the charge.

Should be a 5 but I took away a star for price. Sometimes I feel like I need to work overtime just to send my dry cleaning here,(pricey). They do good work with alterations though. This is my «go to» place if I need last minute alterations. Otherwise there is nothing that sets them apart from any other cleaners in the area except price.

I have been a regular customer of PC since 2009, usually dropping off shirts to be cleaned every week or two. With the exception of a high rate of broken buttons, their main selling point has been convenience. However, they are not to be trusted, and I will never use them again. Here’s why. Back in March 2015, I dropped off 8 shirts to be cleaned. Returning a week later, the owner said I must have been mistaken, there was no order for pickup. He assured me that every order was faithfully recorded in his computer system, and he had no record of me dropping off 8 shirts. I asked Jay to search the store, but he was noncommital. For my part, I searched my closet, the car, the house, puzzled where those shirts had gone, and eventually gave up. 5 of the 8 were recent purchases, so it was particularly disappointing to lose them. I felt sure I had dropped off those shirts at PC, but perhaps I was mistaken. Perhaps they had mistakenly been included in materials dropped off at Goodwill. I gave PC the benefit of the doubt — after all, how could I argue with Jay’s computer system? I moved on and purchased 8 replacement shirts, an expense that cost me more than $ 300. Imagine my surprise this past Wednesday when the owner wordlessly included the 8 with another order and charged me $ 11.20 for their cleaning. In a rush, I paid and waited to check the order tag later at home. Sure enough, the tag showed these were the shirts dropped off in March, with a pick up date of mid-August. Had Jay been waiting a month before getting up enough courage to return the lost order of shirts to me? I asked him what had happened when I dropped by yesterday to pick up the last order of shirts I will ever leave with PC. Jay explained the March order had been inadvertently filed in a separate part of his computer system. Again, no apology, just the briefest of explanations as he ran my credit card for the latest pickup. The sense that he somehow owed me – a loyal customer he has seen every week or two for 6 years — a simple apology for losing my order and the inconvenience that caused — never seemed to cross his mind. And the chutzpah of actually charging me for the shirts still amazes me.

I used other dry cleaners in the area. At best the quality of work is marginal for the price you pay.

Unfortunately, this was the worst dry cleaning experience I have ever had. I don’t usually leave bad reviews, but in this case it seemed unethical not to as I would hate to have anyone else go through what I did. Potomac Cleaners ruined my favorite blazer, a very expensive, wool blazer with a silk lining and trim worth over $ 500. When I picked up the blazer, the leather buttons were scorched black and the lining was wilted from an overly hot iron. When I took the blazer back to the cleaners to ask for a refund or at very least a discount, the man behind the counter blamed the retail store where I purchased the blazer for not giving him more specific dry cleaning instructions. I have had this blazer dry cleaned on countless occasions and somehow the other cleaners managed to do decent job. Trust me, this place is not worth the risk! Do not bring any clothing that you care about to this dry cleaner. Not only do they do a terrible job, but they will not admit or recompense any mistakes. SAVEYOURCLOTHES!

I’m honestly at a loss that this cleaner could have any positive reviews. When I picked up my dry cleaning to find one of my sweaters shrunk and another frayed, the owner was rudely indifferent and refused to acknowledge any mistake. Do not take your clothes here if you are even slightly worried they could come back to you in a ruined state. It only takes one poor dry cleaning experience to ruin your clothes. Do not take changes with Potomac Cleaners. I can tell from previous reviews that I am not alone.

Jay and the family do an AWESOME job. I’ve been going here for years and have never had anything damaged, which is saying something. Love these guys. Parking is a little tough, but the service and experience are perfect.

WORST dry cleaning experience EVER! Went into Potomac Cleaners to pick up my suite on Friday evening, and it was covered in lint. I asked the owner’s son, Jay, the only person there if it was normal for a cleaned suite to come back with lint all over it and he said«yes.» I then asked him if he had a lint roller and he VERY rudely smacked a lint roller down next to me. As if it was my job to roll the lint off. I will never return to this place again.

Not too sure what sparked all of the other reviews on this place, but I’ve never had an issue with them. Personal biased aside it being Monday, 3.5 would be a better bet for this place. The bad? I had a blazer hemmed there once and they left the collar a bit short. The good? They fixed my childhood blanket for me(a la Linus) and did a great job with the sewing. Their schedule is good with the turnaround on their clothes and I haven’t had any issues with stains, etc. I do tend to forget my collar stays in my shirts, but it’s not like they’re out to gank them, so they will fall out from time to time.

I took my wedding dress to have pressed at Potomac Cleaners. When I retrieved it, there were two small but noticeable blackish brown stains/marks on the front of the dress under the bodice detail, that were definitely not there when I dropped it off. This is my wedding dress, and I would have noticed, as any bride-to-be would, a problem like this, especially on the front of the dress near the bodice. When I asked the man about it(I am not sure if he is the owner), he asked the worker who pressed the dress, who then said the stains were there before he pressed it. He said the best way to fix the problem would be to dry clean the whole thing, soak it in their chemical solution, and then re-press it. I know they were not there, because I have had this dress over 3 months now since finishing up the alterations, and I have taken it out at least once a week to look at it. I took it out that morning to inspect it before bringing it over. When the store worker and I took it out of the garment bag, I had another chance to look at it, and the stains were simply not there. So I asked him, if the stains were there before, would I not have asked them to clean the stains before pressing the dress? If I am going so far as to remove wrinkles from the dress, why would I think two stains on the front of my dress would be acceptable? I asked them why they didn’t phone me to say there was a problem? This is a wedding dress after all, not an every day shirt or some other ordinary clothing. He said because I asked for it to be pressed, so that’s what they did. And since his worker said the stains were there, then they were there. He was absolutely unyielding, saying there was no way his iron/equipment could possibly do something like that(every one who has owned an iron knows the iron can scorch or leave residue if not cleaned properly), and unwilling to help fix my problem, and so I am writing to file a complaint so that others will at least have some forewarning before going to this place. There is really nothing I can do about this situation. I still have a dress with two stain marks on it. So, the only thing I can do to make them understand that sometimes, the customer is actually right, and they should have tried to help fix the problem at their cost. He mentioned I could leave the dress and they can try and spot clean it, but that it would leave a big ring around the area of spot cleaning. So that was not a viable solution. He also said I would have to dryclean it and re-press it, but did not offer to do this for free for me. There are so many other drycleaners around, I would suggest if you live near this one, to drive a little further to avoid poor quality and customer service.

STAYAWAY!!! This dry clener absolutely terrible! My husband took our clothes there to try it out and they shrunk everything! They shrunk a pair of pants and a skirt — both of which I had only worn once! They also shrunk all of his work shirts. Beware!!!
