This place is great for argentinean/uruguayan/brazilian meat cuts. They have chorizo argentino(spicy or regular), and other kinds of chorizos like salvadoran. They have good cuts like picanha, top sirloin, etc. They have ready-made milanesas(pollo and carne) and provoletas for the grill. Other stuff is available too like latino cookies and sweets, dulce de leche, dulce de membrillo, pao de queijo and other yummy stuff. Prices are reasonable and the staff very friendly. I will be returning and have already recommended it to my friends.

A little bit of every corner from Latin America . If you want Argentinian cut for your BBQ this is the place to go. The meat is amazing. Nice wine selection, cookies, cheeses and any other little treat you may be nostalgic for. People are really friendly and helpful. Prices are very reasonable, very convenient. A small Bodega well organized and super clean, everything they sell is fresh and properly handled, there’s even a small section with fresh produce.

Yeah, 5 stars. Price, friendliness, good quality food, variety. These folks are related to the people who own Taco Bamba in the same shopping center. They don’t speak English very well, but their English is better than my Spanish. Last time there I bought hot and regular Mexican sausage(the hot was VERY hot – use it for spicing up dishes; the other was tasty), and sirloin steak. It is hard to get a sirloin steak at a supermarket that is fairly priced and tender; this one answered both categories and seemed to be fresh. They cut it from the roast according to your desires. The market has a wide variety of packaged and canned food products as well as a small fresh produce section – all the stuff you see in a well-stocked store in Mexico. If you want to cook a Latino style meal, start here. Sorry about that other reviewer’s pig, but I don’t think that reflects fairly on the entire store and their people.

I ordered a whole pig a week before my party at $ 3.99 per pound. Two days before I called to confirm that they still have my order and that everything was ok which they confirmed that it was. Only one day before they called me to tell me that the pig now is $ 5.99 a pound(for a whole pig you usually need to contact a butcher with a week in advance) this will cost me $ 100 more that what they originally told me. I choose them(even if they were more expensive that other butchers) because I want to support small Latin business. Last time buying anything from this store. l

After eating at the nearby Taco Bamba, I decided to go in here to look for some frozen fruit purée. Lots of Latino markets have Goya frozen fruit purees that are excellent for making desserts(passion fruit, strawberry, blackberry, guava, etc). The first thing I noticed was how clean and neat it was. Brightly lit, everything in place, yet full of stuff. Usually when I go into small grocery stores, they are sort of dingy. Not so with Plaza Latina. They also have a nice produce section. Again, a lot of smaller grocery stores will keep their produce for longer than they should since they can’t turn it over fast enough, but everything here looked nice and fresh. I’ll definitely be coming here again when I’m in the neighborhood.

Woah… talk about a needle in a haystack. Saturday morning we decide to stroll around the neighborhood and grab some breakfast at Jason’s Deli, only to find out they aren’t open early. So we walk around to the neighboring plaza. Having visited Subways several times, we were never brave enough to check out the plaza because the exterior looks rather dated. This time we have time to kill and curiosity to fill. We step into this rather small market with aisles barely wide enough for our stroller. At first glance it was your typical latin market, but we were very surprised just how clean this place was… especially their small produce and meat section… which so many grocery stores/markets fail miserably. We perused the entire store all the while trying to find a reason to like this place and come back again. It wasn’t until we check-out that I found my reason to come back. On the counter, next to the big container of bread rolls was a tray of SALTENAS!!! My eyes lit up brilliantly. I asked if they have these everyday, and the confused cashier looked at me and replied. «…eh…Saltenas! «. She didn’t speak English very well so I tried my best to remember, «everyday» in Spanish… but it didn’t come to me. Anyway she told me they came from the night before and were cold. I asked for a meat filled Saltenas(they also had chicken), which was $ 2.99 and she microwaved it in the back for me. I’ve only had saltenas from two other places, and the filling was a little more on the runny side. These saltenas were more on the drier side, which probably makes storing them overnight better. Anyway it was delicious and instead of tasting more like beef stew, it reminded me more like tacos meat. Authentic!!! Perhaps not, but delicious… absolutely. Definitely coming back again.
