Hands down wayyy better then Starbucks! I have always had great drinks from here and great service! Even on super busy days, the staff always perfects my drink:) They really need to have more of these around!

I was wondering why this branch was getting a lower review and upon paying a visit for the first time I know why. The wait was unnecessarily long to get the drink and there was no one in front of me. The caramel macchiato I got was too sweet and I couldn’t even taste the coffee. Noticeably subpar to Starbucks’. The Gouda and ham sandwich was sandwiched between very hard English muffin so I just ate the meat. Overall unimpressive but they are relatively new so here’s hoping that it’ll get better.

I like this place because their coffee tastes rich and flavorful AND they offer almond milk. I consider starbucks the mcdonalds of the coffee world. I can’t drink milk, so I always used to get soy lattes, but now the soy milk is starting to make my throat itch.(and It tastes like a pretzel for some reason.) Sometimes the workers seem full of themselves or they are a little sassy. I just brush it off my shoulder. I always get an Almond Milk Caramel or vanilla… or sometimes plain if im feeling it) Iced Latte with an extra shot of espress. Delish! The only downside– pretty expensive. Like I usually get a Venti Quad Iced Caramel Latte and thats around 5.50. A large iced latte with extra espresso and extra shot is 6 dollars and up. But I think of it this way: A dollar more or an itchy throat with a weird pretzel tasting latte.)

Nice people, convenient location, but the coffee… it shouldn’t have lots of grounds in it, should it? Am I missing something here? Not a big Starbucks fan, but can’t recall that happening there. Kind of gross, but I’ll come back to give it one more try, as the establishment itself is very inviting.

So far so good. Love this place. Staff are friendly. I love their White Chocolate Javiva. It’s a good alternative to the frappuccino, in my opinion. I was reluctant to try this place out until my cousin introduced and urged me to give it a shot. The staff were quite accommodating and knowledgable when I asked for a customized drink. I agree with some reviews that there were times in the past their restrooms were just so disgusting but they have kept it clean ever since.

I’ll try to avoid going to chain coffee places since there are so many independent establishments in the DC area, but I was meeting a friend who lives in this area so we opted for Peet’s. Although it’s a chain, what matters is that the service was good, the place was clean, and we had a great bar table area to get some work done for two hours.

Cyndy’s Bottom Line: Smooth, rich flavor. Ordered the dark roast and loved the smooth, rich robust flavor. The aroma is wonderful too!

Glad to have a place where they serve almond milk. Just wish there were more locations! Staff at this one very friendly.

I used to go here almost every day back when this location was still Caribou Coffee. The coffee was great, the food options were respectable and the staff was engaging and incredibly friendly. Now that it’s Peets? Meh. They had a big staff turnover and lost a lot of great people. The food options are terrible now and worst of all the internet is TERRIBLE. Like«worse than dial-up» slow. And sadly the last one is the nail in the coffin for me. Sorry guys, but you forced a long-time customer over to Starbucks. The coffee isn’t as great, but I know I can get reliable internet and a decent breakfast.

So much better than Starbucks. Of the coffee franchises in DC, this is the best. The lattes actually have foam and can sustain latte art(a foreign concept in Starbucks). I like their current Maple Latte offering although any of their coffees are fantastic. At one point pretty much every time I ordered, I also received a coupon to fill out a survey and receive $ 1 off my next drink. This worked for about 5 different times but then they suddenly stopped handing out the survey. :(The workers generally seem happy to be there and are fun nice people. Only one or two have rubbed me the wrong way as being stand-offish…but you can’t win them all. There is a good amount of work space and electrical outlets. However, it does get pretty crowded and the parking lot is a nightmare! Only downside is that when it’s crowded, the wifi gets super slow.

Cali coffee joint trying to make inroads into dc. Ordered medium roast(large, not venti) and a cranberry walnut scone. Scone was a bit dry and not many cranberries. Warm inviting chill interior with outdoor seating for warmer temps. They offer baked goods, sandwiches, salads, and snacks. Free wifi.

Great coffee place! Good coffee – I like that they have a light, medium and bold roast available – and yummy baked goods. Cheaper prices than Starbucks, but you’re not scraping the bottom of the coffee barrel like you would with other Starbucks alternatives(Dunkin Donuts, McDonald’s, etc.) It’s nice to have a solid, quality option aside from Starbucks. I will choose them over Starbucks whenever available now! Very friendly staff as well, and I like all of the«dressings» they provide for your coffee that Starbucks does not have(liquid sugar, honey, regular sugar, cream, milk, various flavoring powders, freshly ground nutmeg, etc.)

Chill coffee spot. I like to get iced coffee before heading over to trader joes. Very clean and STRONG coffee. The fact that they have soy milk is a plus & its better than starbucks.

Wow. I was so loving this place until this morning. I came in at 9am and had to use the restroom and it was DISGUSTING! I don’t mean dirty, I mean gross! I had to go really bad and could not leave to go elsewhere but it was to gross to use. I literally had to get paper towel and soap(from the sink) and clean it enough to use it and ensure I was not being infected with something. Even the tissue seat covers could not protect me! The whole thing looked like it had not been cleaned in at least a day or two. The trash was over flowing, sink grimy, and the toilet was soiled on epic levels that could not be from one person. When I came out a lady came out of the lady’s room and reported to staff, «The ladies room is out of order.» And the staff was like«huh?» So she was more direct and said, «It needs to be cleaned, it can’t be used like that!» Then she walked out without ordering. Me, I am heart broken because this place is two minutes walking from my house and I love the coffee but if that is their idea of cleanliness do I want to be ordering from them? I am so disappointed. :( Here is hoping they get a grip and turn this around. Update: it has been many months later and this coffee shop keeps getting worse. I can’t believe how trashy they keep the place, the staff they employ, and why in the world everytime i am there i have to ask for the cream. It is always behind the counter unless you ask for it! Horrible… can i give less then one?

Judging from the other reviews, perhaps I was just lucky. However, my cup of «Dark Roast» was miles better than anything I have ever had from Starbucks. Perhaps that is setting the bar(ista) a bit low and I figured it was something many people could relate to. For me that means a drink that was rich and smooth with some bite that was served at a decent temperature(hot) without being burned. Peets is new to our area, filling the gap left by Caribou and I will be going back for more.

Coffee is pretty good. While the inside ambiance isn’t as cozy as Caribou was(just a different vibe) & lacking electrical outlets, the outside seating/tables are GREAT and plentiful considering the small space. Most of the staff was great — patient with a bunch of newbies(myself included) trying to navigate the newness of the setup & offerings. One frustration while I was there — I witnessed an elderly gentleman come in, have coffee & a cookie(he was so sweet), and then attempt to take care of his mug, and one of the staff looked right at him standing waiting to inquire where to place his items, and turned away, never acknowledging him. He stood a bit longer(he wasn’t super stable on his feet; this was quite obvious) & then someone else must have helped him. Two opportunities with this situation — 1) ignoring an elderly person. Sorry just frustrating to see someone trying to do the right thing & be intentionally ignored. 2) a clear plan of where Peet’s wants dishes to be placed. It was a little confusing to all of us. All that said, I’ll be patient & give this location time to work out the kinks before I make a permanent stance :)

I agree with Duane about the confusing line. There really needs to be a sign hanging from the ceiling indicating where you order and where you pick up. I ended up waiting on the wrong side for a minute while I got my bearings. This place looks completely different than Caribou, although I do recognize the same great smile from Becka who used to work at Caribou. Apparently she decided to stay and open up Pete’s in the same location. Perhaps not as cozy as Caribou, but Pete’s definitely had a nice open and clean feel.

First and last time I am going to patronize this place. I was given a coupon for free coffee. I took two sips of their house blend, dark roast, and wanted to spit it out. I ended up throwing it in the trash. Two sips was all it took. The appearance of the place is clean, but it’s more to the point of looking sterile. All the the comfort and warmth that existed in the previous Caribou Coffee has vanished. The two people on staff acted sterile as well. One of them seemed timid in even answering a question. I noticed the other one, a tall lanky woman, sneeze, and not even try to plug her nose or anything, it just sprayed through the air. There was only ONE noticeable outlet in the wall for computers. If you go, make sure you’re totally charged up or you will be in trouble. The«art» on the walls is a collection of Peet’s «memorabilia.» Bring back Caribou. Peet’s is the pits. If I could give it zero stars, I would. (And I was a regular at Caribou nearly every day).

Vegans rejoice. The new Peet’s on Leesburg Pike has both soy and almond milk options for creamers. Plus, the soy is right on the bar and doesn’t cost extra. The shop is new and clean with a good selection of coffees and teas prominently displayed. The line to order is a bit confusing though. If there is a group of people, you can’t tell which way the line should go. I will miss the old coffee shop, but hope for good things from Peet’s.
