We are going to the Arlington one before and it is really good we got excited that there was one in Fairfax area. We ordered the pizza and it was really good the waitstaff is very nice. We have also tried their cheesesteak and that also has been good.

Not the same Mario’s. Go to the one in Arlington, VA. The food here tastes different from the Arlington location.

UPDATED later in the evening: been going to the bathroom all day… stomach sick. Not a good place to eat :/ Worst customer service I have ever seen, ever. The cashier/cook watched me stand there, cleaned the stove, washed his hands, checked the computer then asked me what I needed… no «thank yous» or smiles. He responded to my «thank you» with an mm hmm. The steak was good — meat is as good as the Arlington location, but the bread is not heated and is the tough kind that you have to really make use of your teeth on lol. Plus, it’s not served with lettuce or tomato. The workers in there look miserably unhappy and unfriendly. Close down… this industry is for people who like people… or can at least fake it! Lol

This place is horrible. The slices taste worse than Ellio’s. Not clean, not inviting. Don’t even bother giving it a chance. This place prompted me to create a Unilocal login and post this review, it was that terrible.

Ok for reference I LOVEMARIOS pizza at the Arlington location. Was it wrong of me to assume this pizza would be just as tasty? It seems so. I went here on my hour long lunch break since I work around the corner and its pizza so it should be somewhat fast right? No. Once I walked in I was practically ignored when I was the only one there, only one! And there were three other employees working, thats right three, all facing my direction. Finally one of them took out their headphones, seriously, headphones. and asked me what I wanted. I ordered onion rings and a slice of cheese pizza. Simple enough, I thought. They charged me and I went to my car to get a bottle of water. I was assured it would be ready in about 15 min so I lingered in my car for 20 min watching Hulu. When I got back in they were all outside smoking and no one had even started on my food and I had been gone a good 20 – 23 minutes! I was like staring at them from inside like WTF? and one came in and was like Im starting your pizza now. he walked tot he back and finally put the onion rings in the fryer and started on my slice. Like seriously though, its like 25 – 28 min and hes JUST starting. And of all three of them no one says sorry or anything. I sit down and I dont even get my food until 40 min later from when I first walked in and again I was the only one there the whole time! No one else came in OR made any calls in for delivery. Just me. I had like less than 5 minutes to eat my food and the pizza by the way was terrible. There was like zero sauce on it and the cheese was so sparse it was basically just toasted bread that was somehow still raw in the crust. Terrible terrible terrible. If I could give them negative stars I would. I cant believe how bad they dropped the ball in every since way possible. I have told everyone I know about this place, avoid avoid avoid at all costs. Oh speaking of costs, the 42 – 44 minute onion rings and one slice of cheese pizza cost me almost $ 10. Fail, never again. I hate these people. I hope the place goes out of business. ASAP. If anyone wants to picket outside the place I am so down!

Stopped on s Saturday afternoon and ordered a pizza to take home. Decent pizza, However not the best I’ve had. Price comparable to local places. Check it out for yourself.

Very good steak and cheese subs. Pizza is always very good. Fast friendly service. We really like stopping by here when we’re in town.

When we travel, I like to eat at restaurants that I can’t find at home. Mario’s made me wish I were home. I’ve tasted better cardboard pizza, but at least I didn’t get sick from it, so that’s a plus. We ordered a large pizza and a cheese steak sub. We watched the fellow make our pizza. He worked very diligently at making the best pizza he could with what he had, but I knew not to expect much when he ladled out pizza sauce from a bucket. The pizza came to us under-cooked and most of it stuck to the pizza box. We had to dig it off the bottom of the box, which resulted in a blob of dough, cheese and sauce on our plates. The dough was tasteless, there weren’t many pepperoni to be found and the mushrooms were from a can. At this point, my hopes were tied closely to hoping I wouldn’t get food poisoning. At least on that hope, Mario’s met my expectations and I didn’t get ill. My wife’s cheese steak sub made us wonder how Mario could make such a terrible sub being so close to Philly. It too was a hot mess, but met our lowest expectations for nourishment. What may be the most salient review of Mario’s of all is when we watched our pizza-maker leave Mario’s and go eat at Arby’s across the parking lot. Need I say more?

Lucky that they even received one star. I ordered a steak and cheese to go, it’s no mayo and no slaw, and guess how it was when I came home? Yup, with mayo and slaw. I proceeded to call the store to let them know, they said that is not what I ordered, not to mention that it was missing onions and green peppers, I just let it slide and told them to make another one, they said that I have to talk to a manager tomorrow, lol. Couple of things to note; upon opening the sandwich, it was a complete mess, bread was breaking through, and the steak was all over the place(one of the worst types of steaks) I have ever encountered. McDonalds would DEFINITELY surpass this place in EVERYTHING, and everyone knows how bad Micky D’s is. NEVER stepping foot in here.

Any time a place is empty during lunch you know its not going to be good. Overall the pizza was just ok, not fantastic, not cardboard but somewhere in between. Besides the slices being small, the pizza just seemed like it was missing something. I’ve had better pizza from Harris Teeter or Wegman’s in my opinion. Definitely not a place worth returning to.

Came in for our first time, pizza wasnt bad but wasn’t the greatest either. When we got there a drunk old man was sleeping and snoring at a table. The owner had to kick him out. As we sat and ate there were numerous sketchy people coming in. The overall feel was unwelcoming.

Definitely not the same as the Arlington location in feel or service. But the cheesesteak was just as tasty. And there is indoor seating at this location. Keep in mind that these are served with slaw and pickles and not LTM. It sounds different, but it’s a good bite. The sandwich does tend to fall apart which is never a good thing.

These comment reviews are just simply fucking stupid, seriously. I mean the food here isn’t that bad but writing a bad review on Unilocal doesn’t mean shit. Why don’t you guys go talk to the manager? The food here is great. I love both Arlington and Merrifield locations. They’ve never tend to fail me.

Its not the same food as the Arlington location. The pizza over here sucks. I just spent $ 18 for a large pizza and I just threw it away. They both have the same owner but not the same pizza. I wont eat here again.

Not bad… But not the same as the Arlington location. I guess I can’t complain because I came home with double the amount of food we actually ordered. Went there for late night munchies and ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza and a cheese steak(8in) but the guy must’ve thought all Asian people look alike and gave me another Asian girl’s order. I didn’t realize til I got home but I ended up with a footlong cheesesteak and a footlong chicken cheesesteak? Not sure exactly bc I didn’t order it loooool but I must say it was not bad at all. The pizza was not half bad … Sauce was awesome… But just something was missing and I can’t pinpoint what it is. Anyway… Yes… I’d come back for more :)

I wanted this to be a 4, based on fond memories of Mario’s on Wilson Blvd. I think coming home from a late night bender it would rate higher, but in a sober tasting 3 stars is generous. Real rib eye in the cheese steaks, so much better than the average packaged meat slices you get in a chain sub shop. But real grizzle too, and a bit dry. Most reviews here are pretty accurate on the rest.

This location is an expansion of the local Mario’s Pizza chain, the excellent original being Wilson Blvd in Arlington. Ugghhh… the pizza here is VOMIT… square premade(made when I can’t tell)) slabs, then topped with requests & heated in the pizza oven… just horrible! The toppings were OK, but the base pizza was pathetic… have had better frozen! The original Mario’s pizza was FAB: cheesy, great texture & awesome taste… even if it was«greasy». Now the subs: MUCH better… had a Philly Cheese steak with all the condiments… very good… meaty, fresh veggies, good bread(not overpowering)… large size was indeed large! Now the prices: another HORRIBLE: 4 single pizza slices with toppings: almost $ 17: a small pizza was less, but I didn’t want that much, and didn’t want to wait. The large sub, while good, was $ 13… pricey. At least it’ provides 2 meals worth of food for me!

I’ll keep it brief. Friendly folks working here but the Philly Cheesesteak was anything but. –Cold, stale bread. –Overcooked meat, onions, peppers –Way too little cheese I also wasn’t aware that a cheesesteak with everything meant mustard and pickles, so maybe that was my fault for not checking but I was definitely not expecting that. All this for $ 8 for an 8″. I’ll stick with $ 5 kim bap from H-mart around the corner, thanks.
