I ordered a take out beef burrito and two cheese pupusas from this place on a random decision, instead of going to Mark’s Duck House next door– like I usually do when I have a bit more time to sit and eat. The pupusas were OK but greasy and the cabbage or curtido was from a can– it tasted too salty and preserved –not in a fresh pickled way. (go to Blanca’s for some good pupusas and curtido) The beef burrito upon examining it before I took a bite did not look like a first world product and would have made me or anyone not used to(probably) mishandled mystery meat and the other ingredients– NOTCOOKED all the way sick and it smelled off as well… so it went in the trash… Long story short this is a place best left to the local population it serves. I won’t be back until there are no other restaurants open in the country. Also the place had a horrible odor from a cheap cleaning product like 409 or fabuloso all purpose cleaners. Not the olfactory experience one looks for in a restaurant. If I save one person from wasting money here the 5 minutes of my life wasted writing about this dumpster of a place will be worth all the effort. Cheers and eat elsewhere.

I have been going here for years. In my opinion, their pupusas are A+, I would say one of the best I’ve tried in the area.

The health inspector needs to make a visit to place. I still question why I went through with my entire order then consumed a good majority of my meal before finding remanence of hair in it. A long black strand of hair in my dipping salsa. No one knew English behind the counter. A woman who had placed a previous order before me graciously offered to translate my order to the cashier. I usually prefer only a cup of water vs buying a bottled water. The cashier made it known that they did not offer cups of water. I opted to try one of their fountain drinks. It was explained to me that the drink was a native fruit drink to Mexico. I don’t remember what it was called. Anyway when she gave me a sample of the fruit drink in a small cup, it had what looked like a small gnat floating around in it. I showed it to the lady who has been translating for me, then I showed it to the cashier. I just decided to get the bottled water. I ordered two cheese pupusas. All is fine until I found the black hair. By this point I was almost done with my meal. I ended up showing it to the cashier, and she just looked at me like ‘what do you want me to do?’ I turn back around and through the rest of my meal away. I went to the restroom which was seemingly clean until I went over to wash my hands. The soap dispenser was broken. As a replacement, they put a bowl of dishwashing liquid. You would reach your hand into the bowl to retrieve some soap and wash your hands that way. This seems incredibly unsanitary to me. Not to mention I also thought that was an extremely cheap way of saving money. Could you really not go to the CVS across the street and get a hand soap dispenser for a dollar? I’ll never be making my way into here ever again. I don’t think I really need to elaborate any further.

I visited La Panaderia de Paris to check out the baked goods. Much to my surprise, I discovered that they also serve meals. Luckily, nothing about the food says Paris. I had a dinner of pan fried tilapia which I thoroughly enjoyed even though tilapia is not usually my fish of choice. The tilapia was moist, meaty, and flavorful. The meal came with rice and a minimalistic salad consisting of mostly lettuce and a bit of tomato, and two mild flavored corn tortillas. The side dishes are very basic but the food seems authentic, the portions are filling, and prices are reasonable. One of my friends had a big steak burrito with fried tortilla chips and he was happy with his meal as well. I will certainly visit again. I also tried two baked items which were fresh and moist. They are not super sweet so do not expect a sugar rush. They are mild but delicious and just sweet enough to satisfy your craving. *Notes: Brush up on your Spanish since the person at the counter may not indicate that she does not understand a word you have said until after you have wasted time ordering a bunch of food in English. :-) She was able to pull someone from the back who understood a little English. You have to spend at least $ 5 to use a card instead of cash.

‘Panaderia,’ as we all know, means ‘panda bear viewing’ in Spanish. But they also have lots of baked goods. I’m a huge bakery fan, so when I wandered by La Panaderia de Paris I had to wander around and check it out, then eventually went back two days later to buy some things. The items they had in stock fluctuated pretty significantly between my visits — not sure if they sold out or just have rotating stock. Even with that they had a pretty good variety of Mexican pastries and breads… which I’m not all that familiar with in the first place. I got a few basic galletas and guayabas and they were delicious. And a good price at about ~$ 0.50 a piece. Not sure why it’s called«…de Paris» — I didn’t see any croissants, baguettes, or any«French» bread other than bolillos which is a pretty standard Mexican staple.
