Amazing, Amazing, Amazing!!! My husband and I met with a few local Baker’s and I feel like we chose the top baker’s in the area just to make our selection easier. We chose Kendall’s Cakes. Meghan at Kendall’s Cakes made the process incredibly easy. She is an artist and such a pleasure to work with. We met with Meghan for tasting which, of course, was a great experience in choosing from several cakes and fillings. Yum! She made the design process easy as well and worked with us with what we had in mind and made suggestions along the way. She used our toppers and stand. We had so much fun with this process. ITWASAMAZING! Even the pictures do not do it justice. It was simple, elegant, and of course the taste was amazing. We had a layer of moist cake with passionfruit filling, a layer with raspberry white chocolate filling, and a layer with Chocolate ganache. Delivery was right on time and set up taken care of. Walking into the reception and seeing the finished product, a work of art, was such an excellent feeling. Yes, I cried! Thank You Kendall’s Cake. You made our day so very very memorable and special. Thank you for playing such a wonderful role in our magical evening.

Meghan, of Kendall’s Cakes made a fabulous 3 tier custom cake for my daughter’s Bat Mitzvah this weekend. The chocolate raspberry cake was«the best ever» according to one guest. And the lemon cake was light and refreshing. I would hire her again in a heartbeat!

Our wedding caterer recommended Kendall’s Cakes… and we are so happy she did. Our tasting last winter was delightful, and our chocolate cake this June was lovely and delicious. All of our interactions were seamless, including a request the week of our wedding for a third, gluten-free tier. We’re looking forward to redeeming our gift certificate for an anniversary tier next year!

I do not hesitate one moment to say their wedding cakes are out of this world. They custom made an excellent heath chocolate cake, which tasted like mousse heath. Absolutely amazing. I was also blown away by the lavender; it wasn’t too strong and was absolutely delectable. They also made a custom Pooh design that was classy enough for a wedding cake!

A few months back I attended a very well thought out interfaith wedding in Richmond, Virginia. Well thought out is probably one of the highest compliments I can give an event and I knew this one was for sure when I found my table assignment at the reception. Along with my favorite Washingtonian, I had been seated with the bride’s former high school gym coach and her life partner(who sadly never made it), the groom’s boss who directs urban development programs for the federal workplace along with his wife and the husband of the baker who made the wedding cake. Decidedly absent from the table was the famed baker herself. It seems due to extreme heat the wedding cake had suffered a collapse in transit from DC to Richmond. The baker’s husband explained the story and told us that his wife was in the kitchen saving the cake. An aspiring baker myself, I had many questions for the baker’s husband. He happily answered, telling us of the commercial kitchen he had built in their home for the express purpose of baking. Sometime later a gorgeous cake with fresh roses appeared at the front of the reception space. Shortly thereafter Kendall, the baker, obviously stressed from the mishap that had befallen her and the cake somewhere on the way to Richmond, took her place at the table. Yet looking at the cake, I couldn’t imagine anything bad had ever happened to it. She explained that in lieu of the fondant decorations she had originally created she’d put fresh flowers. Talk about improvisation under pressure! Not only did she replace the flowers, she was also forced to whip up butter cream in the kitchen to help compensate for the demolished fondant. I was impressed and this was BEFORE I tried the cake. Then my piece came ’round. Hallelujah! It was incredible. And the last minute butter cream whipped up in an unfamiliar kitchen without access to artisan ingredients? Quite simply THEBEST butter cream frosting I have ever tasted(and I’ve tasted A LOT of butter cream frosting). Kendall’s grace under pressure was an awesome sight and I can only imagine how fabulous one of her cakes would be when everything was going right. Then again if what I tasted was wrong, who needs right? Right? All kidding aside, it was very clear to me that Kendall is a a person who stands by her work 100% and absolutely goes the extra mile. If ever you want that sort of dedication it would be on your wedding day. If I were planning a wedding in the Washington, D.C. area I would, without a doubt, ask Kendall of Kendall’s Cakes to bake my wedding cake. And if I’d planned to have my wedding in August, when Kendall goes on vacation, I’d change my wedding date to ensure that my cake could be baked by her. The woman’s THAT good.
