So excited to find out Crisp & Juicy has relocated to a smaller space in Falls Church off Rt 7 behind Trader Joe’s in old post office. Glad to have my favorite Peruvian chicken back.

To second Lars, this location is indeed closed. The closing was planned and they were supposed to have the new spot ready to go before closing this one but I don’t think that happened. When I got the details a couple months ago, the plan was to be in a space next to/behind Trader Joe’s Tysons(7 west, 1.5 mi away). I live fairly close and haven’t seen any signage yet but will update with any new info.

Wow! I cannot believe the positive reviews on this place. I stopped by one night after yoga to pick up some rotisserie chicken. I usually go to Super Chicken on S Washington St, but this place was on my direct path home. I also figured that all Peruvian rotisserie places are basically the same. Boy was I wrong! I ordered the ¼ dark meat platter with fried yucca and salad. The chicken was extremely greasy and salty, almost to the point of being inedible. I got much less chicken than I typically get at Super Chicken. In order to fill up the empty space in the platter box, they threw in a plain white hamburger bun. How does this add any value whatsoever? The yucca was the best part although that is not saying much. It’s sad when I think about all the other things I could have bought for the money I spent here. Definitely a mistake that I am never repeating.

This place is very hit or miss. Sometimes the chicken is well, crisp an juicy, and other times its over cooked and dry. My main complaint is the service, you come in around 12−3pm on a week day, it’s dead, no one in the restaurant, and the only 2 people there are more interested in what’s on the tv then helping you, and it takes a minimum of 15 mins to get a simple order of chicken and french fries. And the prices are inconsistent, like they charge you extra some days, and then get a decent price next time. I’ve been there at least 10 times and have had the same experience almost every time.

I used to live down the street from here and my husband and I thought the name was so straightforward we had to try it. It was our first time getting Peruvian Chicken and so far I have to say that I haven’t really liked any other Peruvian Chicken place as much as Crisp and Juicy. The yucca was always crispy, chicken was tender, and the sauces they serve(the green and cream ones) make it all taste soooo good. *Ghetto Alert* We used to love the sauce so much that we would ask for extra and dip other random things in it lol. Whenever we had to treat out a lot of visitors we would always take them here because their Super Bowl deal(which is offered year round btw) comes with a lot for a decent price that I can no longer remember, but I DO remember that it was always able to feed close to 6 – 7 people.

Disappointing!!! Small portions… Not many veggies with the rice… Chicken was not that juicy either!!!

Peruvian chicken is now becoming a staple in the area and this is one of several other stores. What I really like about Crisp & Juicy is the chicken — reason for coming right? Other than that, the rice is mediocre and you have to pay extra to get additional condiments which I find really annoying($ 0.45 extra per condiment). Prices are reasonable and that’s that.

Don’t let the name fool you, the chicken here was so dry and tough that I couldn’t finish my meal. They also gave us old salad and rice that was overcooked. I’ve had many shares of Peruvian chicken and this was by far the worst. If you’re looking for a Peruvian chicken place I recommend Pollo Rico in Arlington.

It’s the chicken you know and love in a newly renovated dining room that puts it above other nearby locations.

This place was more convenient to me the other night than my beloved Super Chicken and I wanted to give it a chance because man, I just love their delicious name. While service was friendly, my chicken was not crisp(it was the end of the night so that could explain), they don’t have the yellow or green sauce(see below), and you will def get upcharged if you want to swap out fries for any other side. And salt is my favorite condiment but even I found this chicken super super salty. For your reference: Green sauce — pureed jalapenos Yellow sauce — mustard, mayo, lime juice and goes on everything Crispy and Juice sauce = Thousand Island-ish to me. I noticed other people saying their hot sauce is the ish, and that is what I asked for, but maybe my definitive white-ness got me bumped down to medium, which offends because I gots the tastebuds of a chupacabra!

Whatever they are doing to those birds is working. I’ve been going to crisp and juicy for some 15 years now and it is the best chicken around. The sauces(medium and spicy) are the best! The same friendly faces greet me and are always dedicated to getting my order correct. I live in Richmond, VA now, but that doesn’t stop me from going up north for a weekend of good friends and good chicken. Get the quarter or half chicken meal with two sides. Gotta get Yucca as one, the other is up to you. Most importantly, order lots of extra sauce for the yucca and chicken. If a sandwich is your thing, then go with the latino chicken breast sandwich. It has some delicious pickled onions on it. I even know of this one guy, straight out of a-town, that’s known to add pinneapple to his latino. I mean, I can’t call it, but he sure enjoys it.

Pretty much all Peruvian chicken places are the same. Same spices, same rotisserie style roasting, and pretty much the same sauces and sides. The sides here are lacking compared to Super Pollo, the chicken isn’t as juicy as Pollo Rico, but they do have one redeeming factor. Their orange sauce is by far the best dip I’ve had at any Peruvian chicken joint.

Best. Chicken. Evar. If you’re in Falls Church and craving some kick ass rotisserie chicken, look no further. They’ve got it down to a science. I usually get the Super Platter, which is half a chicken, fries, small salad, and a drink. The fries are hit and miss, but the chicken always picks up the slack if they’re lacking. The Latino Chicken Breast sandwich and rice and beans are some of my other favorites here as well. Whatever it is you get, make sure to get the hot sauce. It is freaking amazing. The stuff is like liquid crack. You can’t get enough.

So even after the«renovations» the place still looks pretty much the same, but that goes for the good food too. That said, the place still has a «mom and pop»(code for not«swank») feel to it. The chicken here is really good, but I have to say there yucca is even better. I usually order the family platter with a whole chicken, yucca, and plantains. However, Their steak sandwich or churrizo sandwiches are amazing.

I went back to Crisp and Juicy, and the place is not only clean its clean-as-a-whistle-somebody-must-have-fired-the-old-manager– clean… isn’t it nice when a business owners realizes something is wrong and fixes it? Good show! Good for you! guys. Keep up the good work. As always, the chicken and Yucca is the best in the city, if not in the whole of North America. Really, I travel a lot, I try different places and Crisp and Juicy would be tough to beat in a cook off or what ever you call a Latin chicken making contest.(El cook off) I ordered the arroz chaufa(Chinese rice) and it sucked… hows that for a direct summary… its too bad because someone should introduce this wonderful dish to the US mainstream… Crisp Juice ain’t that someone… their dish was plain and dull… you gotta add soy sauce, a touch of olive oil, scallion, white onions, carrots, peas etc… its more than just white rice with brown chicken… you don’t even need the chicken really… so take that crisp and juicy! Anyway, I’ll be back.

Bad idea. The only good part was the canned, soft drink(Inka Kola) that I purchased. I had a huge craving for the chicken from my homeland so I pulled in, starving, and apparently, blinded by the notion of what could be. I purchased a grilled chicken sandwich. As I waited for my order to be prepped, I looked around and my germaphobe tendencies went haywire. The place was pretty grimmy, run down, and just looked like bad news. I almost went into the fetal position but I resisted because I was scared to lay on the floor. I took a few bites. My stomach later punished me even though I didn’t finish all of it. I would *highly* suggest you look up the health report on this place. You might not want to return. Wish I would have done that prior to giving into my craving. My Peruvian radar was off this time. The quest for good Polllo a La Brasa continues.

I will never return here after one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I’m not one to get excessively sensitive about things, but the manager here was extremely rude and disrespectful. To start with, I ordered a combo which the menu specifically states comes with chicken, side, biscuit, and a drink. My food is ready and there is no biscuit. I simply ask about the biscuit and the guy says«oh, you need to ask for that separately.» Baffled, I point to the menu and calmly say«the menu says biscuit». He sort of scoffs, and then says to me(in all seriousness) «you’re already fat, you don’t need a biscuit». Then grabs a biscuit and gives it to me in annoyance. Really? That sort of thing actually happens? I could maybe tolerate such disrespect if the food was actually good but it wasn’t. It was small and dry and tasteless. I spent $ 8 and even with my hard earned biscuit still left hungry. Maybe that’s why I’m apparently so fat?

Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum Peruvian Chicken! I’ve been coming to Crisp & Juicy for a few years now and it’s still one of those places I crave. The name, «Crisp & Juicy» is what first caught my attention to this place. It’s a fun name and I was always curious about what it was all about(although I probably should have figured it out, what with the giant chicken picture and all.) One day I finally decided to go in for lunch. ¼ white meat with a salad, yuca, roll, and a drink and I’m all set! The meat has always been cooked well and same goes for the yuca. Their salad isn’t anything special and I could do without it — it’s no different from a bag of lettuce you pick up to take home from the grocery store. They also give you a couple of sauces which I love, especially the spicy pinkish/red one — it’s the ketchup to my fries, or in this case, yuca! Fast and delicious — go!

I can’t beleive I forgot to write a review on this place. I’m drawing on memory from a couple of months ago. This place was okay, but the most noticable difference with this and other places is that it lacked UMPH in regards to spices. The chicken didn’t look like it had enough rub… but then again I LOVE that powerful mouth-watering punch. Otherwise it was good. Not the best and not the worst. Probably will be back but not sure how often.
