I’ve always been an avid shooter of pistols. When I moved to Temecula I began the search for a range. Found them scattered far away and seemed expensive. A little more research and I found Rainbow in my backyard no more than 10 minutes away. It’s a annual membership type club and you must be a NRA member to join. No standard range marshals here you follow the rules. If you just arrived and want to hang your target just ask to go cold. Everybody I’ve met here has been very friendly and super safe! Shooting is serious and serious shooters are safe! I encourage anyone that has a gun to go to the range regularly and practice, it’s fun. Good people working here and very helpful. You can shoot long guns or pistols here.

Well I love this place. Practically live here! The range is kept up very nicely. Here you will meet some very nice guys happy to show you new guns, and some interesting things about guns. For the most part this is a great group of guys. This is a shooting range so shooting range safety is a must to keep everyone SAFE: 1. Cold range means STAYBEHINDTHEWHITELINE. Holster weapon or unload weapon and face it down range with the slide open. If you bring a new shooter take a minute to explain this to them. 2. Don’t walk on berms(this wears them down). 3. Know the Five gun safety rules:(some version of this) 1. Always keep your firearm pointed in a safe direction. Don’t break 180 2. Treat ALL firearms as if they were loaded. 3. Keep your trigger finger outside the trigger guard and off of the trigger until you are ready to fire. 4. Be certain of your target, your line of fire, and what lies beyond your target. 5. Always wear appropriate eye and ear protection when shooting and maintaining your firearm. Follow these rules and you will have a great time. Break these rules, and some old fart will yell at you and get all rude and nasty…(Sorry some guys are just jerks). This could create a dangerous situation that make you want to(well you know). Just follow rules above and all will be fine. Don’t ruin your life because some old guy yells at you! Have fun, be safe… Join!

I was a little hesitant to become a member at first. Initially I thought some of the staff seemed rude. I’m so glad I did. As a female shooter I enjoy being able to go at my leisure and I feel safe in doing so. The staff has gotten better and the members are knowledgeable and friendly as well. I’ve been a member for almost a year now and plan on renewing my membership.

Hey, Kevin R., don’t let the door hit you in the butt on your way out. This has been my home range for three years and there has never been a range accident here in that time. The range, which is all NRA members(LE, military, retired from either/or) is well run, well policed and a great place to shoot. The only thing that keeps it from five stars is that the max range is 100 yards, which is a bit short for my 30.06. That, and the fact that it can get crowded on weekends. By the way, this range is completely legal, so I have no idea what the ‘and do it legally’ comment is supposed to mean.

I tried this place out for a little while because I liked the idea of outdoor shooting, but this place honestly is a travesty. They don’t seem to care a whit about safety — like seriously having a shotgun range in line with a pistol range? Yeah that can’t end badly.. .it’s just the most white trashiest place that ever white trashed. And requiring members to join the NRA, that’s messed up. I’m a gun owner, but I think the NRA is too extreme and doesn’t care if guns get in the hands of people who really shouldn’t have them. And it’s crazy to force people to join a lunatic fringe organization just so you can shoot. That is the opposite of the freedom they probably think gun ownership entails. Freedom should include disagreeing with your political viewpoints! So basically, this place is a joke. It is fun to target practice outside. But it’s better to bite the bullet and take a long drive to BLM land and do it legally(and for free by the way).

Beautiful scenery at this range. It’s tucked away from the freeway so it is a strikingly peaceful area to go. I spent a few hours at the pistol range. Several things I like: ability to fire fmj ammo, steel plate out at 50 yards to challenge yourself, and that eveyone shooting was their own range master. If you wanted a cold range, just ask hose around you. No need for timed or hyper vigilant old timer range masters. Seems to treat eveyone as adults with fire arms as opposed to campers with their first BB gun. It was also a bonus that every range was covered. An additional thing I like was how close all the ranges were to each other. You can park your car once and shoot pistols, clay pigeons with shot guns, rifles, and 22 lr at the different ranges. We came as guests of members, and were found the customer service too notch. Have heard great things about shooting here.

Been a member for over a year now. The last four months some nice changes have happened. Got someone new working and trying to make things better. He is out there himself cutting back weeds and sweeping up. They have added some asphalt and cleaning up the ranges a lot more often. Headed in the right direction keep it up.

I’m surprised with all the negative reviews. Today was my first time here but I went with a member as his guest. He told me what to do and what to be expected for so I didn’t really ask any questions. But my experience was pretty darn good. Plenty of different ranges depending on what you are shooting, which is always a good thing. All of the neighboring shooters were very nice and everybody was helping each other spot. To me that’s what it comes down to. Seems to me that this place attracts nice and friendly shooters. That’s the kind of place I want to shoot at. I’ll definitely be back whenever my buddy can bring me as a guest

I’ve been coming here for years and it is one of my all time favorite ranges. Safety is driven by both the rangemasters and fellow shooters; everyone is here to have a good time and the rural appeal of the range is half of its beauty. Seneca is a phenomenal wealth of information as is his son, Seneca Jr. I highly advise coming to shoot to this range, just remember it’s cash/check only and you’ll be required to get an NRA membership before or when you purchase your annual membership. Thanks for a great range you guys!

I have been a member at the Range for a couple of years and I have a great time every time I go. I love shooting at the different ranges within the range. I go to the range to shoot, not to make friends with the staff there.

I have been a member of the Rainbow Shooting Club for more than 4 years and it is by far my favorite place to shoot in So Cal. Since it is a Shooting Club and not a range that is not open to the public the range marshals are not sales oriented. Once you are a member everyone treats you well and it is a friendly place. It is rustic but for the price I consider it to be an absolute steal!

Very rude, I’m 40 yrs old and the grouchy old man acted like I was some punk trespassing on his property. It’s sad because I prefer shooting outdoors more than indoors.

These are the type of folks that give gun owners a bad name. Beyond rude and arrogant. When you drive up, you her banjos… need I say more. Ten they demand that«you’re a member of the NRA». Serious? Yes I am, but it’s this backwards approach that scares most Americans. Do yourself a favor– there are other gun ranges. This place creeps me out.

I’ll 2nd the rudeness. First time here and the guy outside on the porch was on the phone when I walked up. I noticed he had a name tag, but due to the fact I had some other issues and not to interrupt him, I popped my head into the office to see if there was someone else. Noticing there was not, and that he had hung up on his caller, I casually mentioned that he must be handling sign in. He quipped back like I was an idiot(love it when folks make you feel that way) «gee, what gave it away?». What an a__hole. I have already told my friends and we will probably go elsewhere. It’s not that special of a place and run down too boot. Nothing worse than having to pay for attitude. Ownership should care about this type of behavior, as kindness cost nothing. Next!!!
