Went to the mercado for Taco Tuesdays – TJ tacos. Ordered chicken and beef. I didn’t think they were anything special at all. However, they were better than Pedro’s Tacos down the street, IMO. The tacos were $.75 each, so what can you expect for that price? What made me really laugh was the Coke they wanted to sell me cost over $ 2.00!

Worst breakfast burrito I’ve ever had. It was like sawdust. All the ingredients were pre made, sitting in warmers. Maybe it had been there a few days already? Dry eggs, dry potatoes, dry tortilla. I was STARVING and I actually spit it out. How hard is it to make an egg cheese and potato burrito? It was only $ 1.99, so I guess you get what you pay for. My daughter had a bean and cheese burrito and said it was awful as well. We threw them in the trash. I won’t go back.

We’ve passed this market many times and just noticed an outdoor eating. So since the first line above, I’ve visited this location again. Just now catching up with reviews! So this last time we visited we took advantage of their Taco Saturday Special, 50 cents for little tacos. Which was perfect after we had our meal, and still a little hungry afterwards. We each had the pork, beef, and chicken tacos. They hit the spot! They were very fresh, I hope its always like that. The little eating area is quite noisy since you are eating adjacent to a main, and busy road. But it is nice if you wish to be out in the open and don’t mind inhaling some gas fumes. The food is good and the amount you get for the money is fair. I am pretty sure we will be visiting again for a bite. It is connected to the actual market. There is a variety of cut meats and other eccentric parts of chicken, beef and pork to please everyones home cooking.

I have been staying with a friend in Fallbrook while my apartment in Carlsbad is having construction done and found this place. Excellent selection of fish, beef, chicken, pork + more. There is also a restaurant in it so if you don’t feel like cooking you can pick something up. Freshly made tortillas, still warm! Amazing prepared fajitas, carne asada, etc ready to throw in on the stove for dinner in 10 minutes. Produce is marginal, but I have seen worse at the Vons in Carlsbad, and there is not a huge selection. Alcohol is expensive, do not buy it here, prices are not listed and some employees do not speak English. Convenient & authentic. Not much to compare it to in Fallbrook, but I like it!
