If I could leave ZERO stars I would. The worst meal I have had in a really long time. Each of our meals(steak tips & burgers) were overcooked. The milk they brought for my nieces to drink was thick & curdled. The mac & cheese was sour, like they used the soured curdled milk to make it. The pizza was soggy & undercooked. There was no manager available to speak with. The waitress offered to remake the steak tips but wouldn’t take them off the bill. Asked repeatedly for water & sodas which was forgotten until we were ready to leave. After getting back the incorrect change, I was fed up & just left. So disappointed. The waitress did say she had been getting complaints about the food all day. Wish I knew that before sitting down. I was truly waiting to see Gordon Ramsey come strolling out of the kitchen to say we were on an episode of Kitchen Nighmares.

WOW!!! And I don’t mean that in a good way! What a cluster f***! OK… where to start… when we first arrived there was a «lively» party going on downstairs… we were seated upstairs where the raucous crowd below shared there revelry with the dining crowd above… the waitress arrived and took our drink and appetizer order… and then proceeded to tell us that she was new and it was her 5th day… well 5 days later(OK it was 20 minutes… yes 20 minutes) our drinks came… the wrong wine for my wife and I was told they didn’t have the beer I ordered… 10 minutes later we’re drinking! The calamari arrived… bland, small portion, warm and a bit over cooked… The waitress came back and asked for our order… we asked about the size of the pizza and she held out her hands to show it was a good size pizza(in reality it’s a bar sized pizza…) and decided on entrees… my wife ordered the steak tips, and I ordered the seafood stuffed cod. The waitress informed us that our food was going to take awhile because she was the only server, the credit card machine was down and they had to enter the numbers manually, and that the kitchen was backed up… ??? About 40 minutes later… yes 40 minutes., our food arrived! Yay? My wife got 6 steak tips(no onions or any other tasty stuff). She ordered them medium rare… half were medium rare and the other half were well done! ?? My cod was not stuffed… it was a filet with seafood stuffing plopped on top of it! Now… don’t get me wrong… the food was tasty and fresh… very good quality, but small portions… and it came out warm… Tasty mashed potatoes(warmish) and fresh veggies… but should the broccoli that comes with the steak tips really take up most of the plate? Now maybe I’m old fashioned, but what happened to water and bread on the table? I’m on a roll now… when the waitress brings you’re dinner, shouldn’t she clear the appetizer plates(or maybe before the entrees arrive)? Now I understand the waitress was new, but she was quite overwhelmed, so I don’t place any of the blame on her… she tried her best(probably not her fault the orders came out wrong???), but still… I just want to say that I love good food and drink, and and love a good night out, so I want to say that I’m not bullshitting with this review… On a final note… Tipsy Toboggan… please decide if you are going to be a restaurant or a party bar…

Heard such great things about the Tipsy Toboggan and was excited to try it out tonight. What a disappointing experience. The bartender was very nice, however, the drinks were watered down and expensive. I got the french dip sandwich and it was so dried out I couldn’t eat it. My husband got a pizza. It was okay but did not get the toppings he ordered Also, it took almost a half hour for the food to come out and it wasn’t busy. I do have to say the white chowder was out of this world. I am very disappointed, especially because it was very costly, over and above the Groupon we had.

I’ve been here plenty of times and experienced great food and service. My fiancé and I went there today and were considering holding our wedding reception here. Soon after, the wife of the owner and her brother walked in, sat at a table next to us, and complained about the servers and décor. Completely distasteful– we won’t be returning.

Came here with my friend for lunch. FYI unlike what Unilocal indicates they open at noon not 11am. Anyways there is some parking available outside would probably be a pain to park if it was busy. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful it is all wood and almost seems like you are at a ski resort. Our server was very nice and friendly. My friend and I shared nachos which was good, but not extraordinary. However I shouldn’t complain because they were gone before I knew it. They were the multicolored organic chips with cheese and guacamole. I had two jack Daniels and coke which were made perfectly. For my entrée I had a bowl of their chili which was pretty good, it is sweeter and more tomato-y than other places and it comes with melted cheddar on top with some nacho chips on side. My friend had a berry salad that was colorful and looked delicious and it was on the larger side. Lastly I ordered a chocolate cheesecake that is from Barcellos bakery I believe in Fall River and I only had one or two bites it was very bland and heavy, I didn’t want to finish it. Then when I went we went to pay the bill, it was indicated to us that they don’t take discover or MasterCard, which I feel a lot of people have discover. There are no local ATMs or banks so it was a pain in the ass. Usually restaurants with bars at least have an ATM outside, inside or somewhat locally. Anyhow the bill was paid for the food minus the dessert was good and I really like the décor inside. The firepit that they have outside is pretty cool as well when it is open.

If you are going for drinks at the bar, this is a great place. The décor makes you feel like you are in a log cabin in the mountains and the smell of the fire is wonderful. I have tried to order food twice and both times, they told me they ran out of food. So unfortunately I can’t comment on the food but I will definitely try it again since I have heard great things about it.

First time here to eat sober. I’ve always been here for drinks and then munchies ensue. Service was great, atmosphere is really cute. Food is ehhhh. The clam chowder was delicious. The chili was sweet and tasted more like chili dip. The calamari was cooked well but lacked any flavor. The quesadilla was cheese and chicken. Nothing was disgusting but it all tasted like it was frozen food.

Saw an ad on Facebook for Corned Beef and Cabbage and live accoustics. Being a few days before St. Patty’s day, I assumed it was Irish Music. To be sure, I called. The girl at the desk had no clue what the entertainment was. She also said no need to make reservations. Good thing I decided not to listen to her. We arrived 10 minutes before our reservation at 7. We were not seated until 7:30. Being a Saturday nite, I figured that wasn’t too bad. The atmosphere is always great so we didn’t mind waiting. However, once we got seated, we had to wait another 10 minutes for the waitress to come to the table. When she did, she was very friendly, almost fake friendly. She was obviously overwhelmed. She had at least 8 or 9 tables. We ordered appetizers and they were pretty good. Generous size but good, not great. Two of us ordered the Corned beef, others ordered steak tips, prime rib and steak tip sandwich. The corned beef came out cold, the potatoes were over cooked and the meat was so tough it couldn’t be cut with a steak knife. Af one point, I almost choked trying to swallow. Anyone who has cooked this meal at home could tell that the person cooking at the Tipsy never did. The other person that got the Corned beef was struggling as well. We called over the waitress and she brought the GM over. She tried to make light of it and tried to offer us another meal. Neither of us accepted. She bought us each a drink and gave us a $ 20 gift card to come back another time. Since I knew that wasn’t happening, i bought drinks with it before we left. And…it wasn’t Irish Music either. My bad.

I’ve been here quite a few times now. It has always been just fine. This last visit I ordered my usual buffalo chicken dip in a bread bowl. Well the recipe has either changed, or I got a very bad batch of dip, because it was awful. There was almost no buffalo sauce at all, it tasted like they took chicken salad with mayo and just drizzled the tiniest bit of buffalo sauce in it. VERY different from how it usually is. The bread bowl wasn’t even wet from the dip, it was totally dry. Eating the soggy bowl of dip afterwards is the best part usually. I would give my most recent visit a 1 star… the only reason I gave a 3 star in this review is because my past couple visits have been good.

The Tipsy Toboggan Pros: 1.) Gr8 alcohol to get tipsy 4 sure 2.) Decent food w/decent prices 3.) Gr8 Service Cons: 1.) The food and service is only gr8 after you’ve gotten tipsy from cheap wine and mixed drinks

The décor and the cozy fire place was beautiful, but I wasn’t satisfied with their food and customer service at all. Which I am surprise because I’ve found this restaurant through phantom gourmet and phantom gourmet never have failed us at all. The fried calamari was awful. It was soggy and tasted very bland. The buffalo chicken dip in a bread bowl was filled with more cheese than chicken and the bread was burnt, even though I could clearly see that they tried to cover it up with the sauce. The stuffed quahog wasn’t cooked at all. The mike’s macaroni and cheese tasted like something you can make at home yourself. Consider the fact that we drove over an hour to tried out this restaurant, what a horrible first experience!

Are you kidding! The Phantom Gourmet lost his taste buds or got paid off. We ordered the appetizer featured on the tv show, steak tips and potato pancakes, meat was tough and the potato pancakes were most likely frozen potato nuggets. My husbands lobster roll was very short on the lobster. I had a soggy tomato, mozzarella sandwich very short on flavor and very soggy as well. The French fries were few, cold and soggy. They weren’t even brown. The pickle was tasty though. We won’t be back, the atmosphere is crowded and very noisy, lodge like. if your not familiar with all the construction in Fall River finding this place at night is not easy. ,

A friend of mine saw Tipsy Toboggan on the Phantom Gourmet, and since I live about five minutes away and have never been, I suggested we go there for dinner last night(a Saturday). We were a group of four and arrived around 7pm. We were told it would be a half hour wait, which we didn’t mind, and took seats at the bar, not that far from the fire place. The décor in this place is awesome. I love the ski theme, the fire place, and antlers on the wall. Great ambiance right off the bat. My fiancé got a beer, my friend’s husband tried an espresso martini(he loved it), and my friend and I both tried the Secret Seagull(which was not bad). Our half hour wait became more like an hour, and we did have to check in to make sure we weren’t forgotten about. The hostess explained this was the busiest night they had ever had. She was clearly overwhelmed. We were finally seated and ordered more drinks and the nachos with chili and guacamole(we were starving at this point). The nachos were good, but you have to order them with the chili. If not you are just getting chips and cheese– which would be a total rip off. And the guacamole for an extra $ 3 is a waste of money… It’s a tiny little cup that’s barely enough for two chips. It also wasn’t very good. So yes to the chili, no to the guac! They forgot one of the drinks, so we asked for it a second time. Our waitress also informed us that they were incredibly busy… Being told how busy they were became the theme of the night. For dinner I got the steak tips, and my fiancé got the stuffed shrimp. The food was DELICIOUS. Steak tips were cooked well and seasoned well. Mashed potatoes were perfect. And I was so full from the nachos that I took leftovers home. My fiancé said his shrimp was great! Just judging the food itself, it’s the best I’ve had in awhile. The problem was the service. Yes, they were very busy. And it was very clear that they were not prepared for the crowd they had, and the customers suffered because of it. All of the wait staff seemed overwhelmed all night long. We waited a very long time to be seated, a long time for an appetizer, and just as long for our food. Our waitress checked in on us a couple of times, but not nearly as much as you would expect, especially considering we had such a long wait for everything. When we got our bill we were overcharged for the drink they had forgotten earlier. When we told the waitress she immediately gave us an attitude, telling my friend’s husband«You definitely had more than two drinks!»(He had three drinks and was charged for four.) We explained that he had ordered a drink they had never brought, and when he asked for it again they must have charged him again. Despite the attitude, she did take the extra drink we never got off the bill, which was appreciated. Tipsy Toboggan has so much potential. It’s so close to where I live, the ambiance and décor is awesome, and the entrees are delicious(although slightly on the expensive side). But the service last night was less than stellar, and I always say service can make or break a place. I will try Tipsy Toboggan again, and I am hoping they will be less overwhelmed so I can add another star to this review.

Not even close to 1 star. ½ of a star is too much. Unless you’re a drinker, and like to pretend you’ve been skiing all day, don’t even go. The Phantom Gourmet got this one wrong.

Charming atmosphere, cozy, ski chalet feel. Love the fireplace. Solid draught selection, they had Shipyard and that’s all I wanted on this particular evening. Lovely outdoor area as well with fantastic fire spheres. Had the little necks with chorico appetizer — tasty, but portion was a bit small for price(I know it was an appetizer, but still). Will definitely go back! Loved the apres ski atmosphere right here near home.

Disappointed. I made a reservation for my 30th birthday, and the manager called me and canceled for something better apparently. I used to love coming here, but this was a letdown. I was looking forward to celebrating my birthday at a fun local place I enjoyed coming to. Not sure if I will make the effort to come back here after this.

The Tipsy is a fun little place to come on a cool night. The atmosphere leads you to believe you may be attending an apre ski cocktail hour, yet there is no mountain in sight. What there is, however, is a charming, cozy spot to sit by the fire(inside and out). The food here is not superb, the drinks are not fantastic, but they are strong. Perhaps a little much so… I had two drinks and felt like I had had six. I’ll keep coming, as it is a cute place in a city that does not have a lot of bars that are not scary to this writer. There is live music some nights and they do offer drink specials on Thursdays, I believe.

Great food, service and drinks. Just disappointed that they ran out of prime rub special. However the stuffed shrimp made up for it. Highly recommend best spot around for a winter night out

Love the décor. Grew up skiing in NH and loved the chair lift outside. I read the menu and reviews before I came so was prepared to order. Seems like the folks who didn’t like the food ordered the entrees so I went with a burger. My partner ordered one as well and we split with both fries and onion rings. The burger was great. Cooked perfectly and well seasoned. I ordered with hot peppers and they use banana’s. If it were me, I would switch it to pickled jalapenos. The fries were, well, meh. The onion rings had this great batter but could use more onion. Super crunch and tasted like they were actually made there and not from a bag. I think the décor and the menu are not made for each other. Seems like burgers and pub food is better than trying to do a makers mark salmon. Embrace your comfort food and the results will be better. Anyway, 5 for décor/service, 3 for food.
