They have friendly and helpful service. Good classes and personal help and a selection of hard to find luscious yarns. Relax and enjoy the great selection of yarns. They have samples of how the yarn Knits up so there is no guesswork. Check it out.

Pretty much going to echo all the sentiments in the previous review by Erin S. This Yarn store is SUPERDUPER posh in my book. Was in the Fairport area on a Saturday. The store is located in an office park, and I must admit that I find the location superb for a yarn-o-holic like myself. It is quiet with ample parking making it perfect for an open knitting session with your friends :-) Though I also find that little yarn nooks in commercial districts are super cute too. They just have this cool nerdy chic way of standing out. Apart from Madeline Tosh, Yarn Culture carries indie yarns not available to other Local Yarn Stores as covered on the previous review. The store is very neat and organized with good lighting… VERRRY important for open knitting. I am looking forward to my next visit… and yarn haul!

We are so lucky to have so many great yarn stores in this area, all with different areas of expertise and wonderful things to bring to the table of yarn and fiber work. The following are my remarks on the newest one, Yarn Culture. Honestly, I am just INLOVE with this place. Patti, the owner, is one of the friendliest, most personable, interesting, and knowledgeable people you could ever hope to meet, and just about everything she carries is unique to this area — if not the entire country! She does have some of the requisite Madelinetosh that pretty much all higher end yarn stores carry, but basically everything else is very different from the usual yarn shop fare. And I must say, everything she brings in is(on the pricier side but) absolutely exquisite. To use a term that is becoming fashionable these days, I would call it a «curated» yarn shop — not quite as wide a selection as some other shops, but every last thing in there is hand selected by a very experienced person, it is all just to die for, and absolutely worth every penny being asked for it. If I ever won the lottery, I swear her shop would be one of my first stops after cashing the check. I’d happily buy everything she has! The store has a very clean, modern, spacious feel to it, and it is kept in impeccable order. Most of her yarn is stored in a back room; she generally puts out just one sample skein/hank/ball of each colorway she carries in a particular yarn on display for people to check out. This helps keep the store from feeling cluttered, which is a welcome change from the usual yarn store atmosphere. Another nice thing is that she has knitted swatches of everything on display with the sample skeins, so you can get a better idea of both the texture and any varigation that might be present in a given yarn. Never seen a LYS(local yarn shop) do that, either! Patti is super easy to reach, both by phone and electronically, and she is eager to help with any questions you might have. There is a plethora of gorgeous, fresh-looking patterns available there, too, along with needles, cases, buttons, shawl pins, and other accessories. Do yourself a favor and stop in soon to check it out!
